Chapter 10
Josh Heid Thompson
To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I was hurt when Ezerette told me about how much I despised their house, when in fact, I didn't. I loved it. It gave me a comfortable feeling that no house had done to me. Even my own. I felt welcomed. Even though Ezerette's father was throwing some inappropriate look, it didn't bother me. I just looked at Ezerette throughout the dinner. He felt my gaze, and he was uncomfortable, or was getting uncomfortable. Lately, I had been looking a lot at him. He intrigued me. It's like there was something pulling me to him. A force that I couldn't see, couldn't fathom. That's why I was trying to solve it, or see it, like I was in a maze.
Everyone was talking except Eclair. The whole time, he had kept his gaze on his food, not wanting to eat it.
And occasionally, Ezerette would take a glance at him and ask if he had a problem. He always shrugged. He was thoughtful and caring. Because the moment Eclair stood up, Mr. and Mrs. Mclane giving them a glance, Ezerette also stood up and followed Eclair.
The whole dinner was awkward. I stiffened when Mr. Mclane turned his head at me and pointed a fork at my direction. Hailey scowled at her husband and slapped his hand, which made him drop the fork. They had a mini argument and I cursed Ezerette for leaving me. I blamed Eclair.

My sister, Yumi, went to my office today. She was too shocked about the news and asked a lot of questions. She said she would like to meet Ezerette and I agreed. So I sent Ezerette a text. I did hire a private investigator and searched every info about him. As soon as I knew where he lived, I immediately went there, thus, giving me the most awkward dinner ever. I also got his cellphone number from Toshi, the investigator.
"Can I see a picture of him?" Yumi whined as she took a seat across from me, giving me puppy eyes.
She was giving me headache, but I loved her to death. I immediately nodded. She was too hard to resist, especially when she was doing those puppy eyes. I opened the laptop and logged-in my f*******: account. I typed his name on the search box: Ezerette Mclane, and I was surprised because of one recommended result. Ezerette must be a unique name then. I viewed his f*******: account. As soon as I viewed it, Yumi took a seat beside me and grabbed the laptop, looking at it excitedly.
"Oh my freaking gosh!" Yumi exclaimed as a look of dreamy expression plastered on her face. "He is so freaking adorable! So yummy! Can I be his boyfriend instead?"
I took the laptop away from him and glared at her as I spoke. "No,"
"Someone's jelly," she teased. I rolled my eyes at her. Me, jelly? No way.
Looking at the screen, I felt like the air had been took away inside my chest, leaving me breathless. On the screen was Ezerette's profile picture.
He was wearing a light violet shirt, an Ellen shirt. He must be a fan of Ellen DeGeneres. His pose was a typical one. A phone in hand, taking a selfie using the mirror. His free hand was holding the hem of his shirt, showing his little abs and sexy body. He was also wearing a white beanie and an Ellen underwear. Ezerette was also wearing a key necklace that looked good on him. He was so adorable in every way and when I looked up, Yumi was smirking at me. I scowled.
"Just realized how hot your husband is?" She teased as she gave me a toothy grin. Then she began bugging me. "Please, please, please, brother. I want to meet him. You did not invite us to your wedding and you haven't introduced him to us. Plus, you didn't tell us you're gay and I was so mad to you because it felt like you weren't trusting me enough to tell me your secret. By doing this, I'll forgive you fully."
Frowning, I massaged my temple because my headache was becoming not tolerable. I grabbed a medicine from the drawer of my desk and popped it in my mouth. I stood up and grabbed a drink.
The whole time, Yumi was staring at me, waiting for my answer and I nodded. She yelled loudly. It rang in my ears and I sent her an icy glare which made her shut up. She offered a piece sign that made me scowl again. Kids these days. She clapped, not loud enough but still loud to make me hear it.
In minutes, I felt my phone buzzed in my pocket and I fished it out. It was from Ezerette. I looked at the message, feeling excited for his reply.
Hubby: is this josh? why would i need to meet your sister? is she harmless? is it mandatory? if not, then i decline
Me: it is mandatory and i command you to get your ass here before i go to your house and drag you here. you know i can do it, ezerette. don't make me do it
Hubby: chill you beast. i was just joking. geez you conceited spoiled brat rich bastard. i command you to do this and that. what am i, your pet or slave?
Me: okay that's it. wait for me to drag you here
Hubby: okay okay! i'll go. what time?
Me: now
Hubby: okay just let me prepare and i'll be there in maybe 30 minutes?
"Brother..." Yumi whispered and I looked up to see her watching the TV. My eyes trailed to the television and my eyes widen. We were on the news. I took the remote and maximized the volume.
"You can see Mr. Thompson's car pulling to a stop in front of his husband's house," Holly Perez said, one of the best reporters in US. "It was late at night when he paid a visit to his husband's house. Mr. Thompson must felt that he was alone. I felt sad, really. But as when Ezerette's, yes, Mr. Thompson's husband name is Ezerette, brother opened the door, he was all smiles, especially when Ezerette fell into view and looked at Mr. Thompson. According to one of my resources here, Mr. Thompson and his husband had a fight. Let's take a look at the interview..."
The video switched, displaying Mr. Westborrow's face and my eyes widen. He was the one who told media that he and I had a fight?
Mr. Westborrow was grinning at the camera. He was being interviewed by Holly, asking him a different questions, and surprisingly, Mr. Westborrow answered all of them.
"They had a fight. I didn't know what was the cause of it," Mr. Westborrow stated, looking at Holly. "But it's just a lover's quarrel. It seems like Mr. Thompson is really in love with the man. And I had a chance to meet him. Mr. Thompson's husband has a golden heart. He helped me fix my car when it was broken. You know, I kind of treat him as my son. I see my son on him. He's a nice guy. Mr. Thompson is so lucky to have Mr. Mclane."
Then the news went back to Holly's face. "I just hope they sort everything out. It's pretty hard to come out of the closet and we understand. Especially Johnny. Johnny is gay. But anyways, we wish them luck and I hope, sooner or later, we can interview them face to face."
Yumi watched the news intently, not breaking her gaze to it. When the news was done, she arched a brow at me. And I knew what her next request was.
She would ask me what fight Ezerette and I had. When in fact, we didn't have a fight. We just had an argument, but not a fight. As soon as she opened her mouth, I raised my hand to silence her. She pursed her lips and I nodded.
"Ezerette will be here in 30 minutes, don't ask. Don't scare him. Got it?" I said, looking at her sternly. She squealed, getting excited as she was going to meet Ezerette. I rolled my eyes at her.
Within 30 minutes, Ezerette was already inside my office and his eyes were darting between me and Yumi. His face lightened up when he saw how beautiful my sister was. I growled in annoyance. No man should date my sister. Coughing loudly, Ezerette's eyes pierced on mine and I shivered. I'd been shivering a lot lately.
Yumi walked up to him and they greeted each other. Yumi hugged Ezerette tightly and he had this dreamy look on his face. I stood up, wanting to rip his heart and stomp on it. I walked to them angrily and rip them apart. I glared at Yumi for doing such a thing. If Ezerette claimed to be straight, like he told me twice, then him and Yumi should not meet again. And I'd proved that he was telling the truth, that he was not gay, that he was interested in girls. Ezerette arched a brow and I snarled. Yumi whined. I dragged Ezerette to the other room and shut the door.
As soon as I locked the door, I pushed Ezerette on the wall, too shock to prepare himself. He was struggling and I snarled at him.
"Leave my sister alone, kid," I said menacingly. "Or else you'll die."
He pushed me hard enough to let him go. He glared at me and straightened his shirt.
"Asshole," he muttered. "I'm not interested at her."
"Good," I said, grinning.
His face scrunched up in confusion and then he scowled. I'd never understand this guy. I grabbed his hand and we went back to the room, where Yumi was glaring daggers at me and she was tapping her foot impatiently. Yumi grabbed Ezerette's hand and he stumbled to her side and I accidentally let his hand go. I growled at Yumi's action.
"You're rude, brother." Yumi said as she gave me a glare. "I'd like to know more of Ezerette and we're going. Bye,"
"Wait!" I said, blocking the door to stop them from going out. "Where are you taking him, Yumi? I'll go with you guys."
"No need, brother. We can manage." She said stubbornly, flicker her black hair in front of me.
"But I'm his husband, you can't take him away from me!" I said and grabbed Ezerette's hand with such strength he toppled over me.
We fell on the floor, my back hitting the rugged floor and Ezerette was on top of me. We groaned together. When we both opened our eyes, nobody spoke. His eyes were captivating and alluring; very beautiful and so brown. His breath hitched when he realized how close we were, practically nose to nose and I smirked as I saw his frantic expression. Glancing over his shoulder, I saw Yumi had a frown tugged on her lips and I used the situation to piss her off. I grabbed Ezerette's waist and his cheeks turned to a shade of red from embarrassment. We were just on the ground, not moving. I could feel Ezerette's heart, beating abnormally and I listened to it. I shut my eyes and kept my hold on his waist.
Maybe having him as my hubby wasn't bad after all.
