Chapter 18

*** NICK Edward and I had started raiding through all the books when more and more of our coven came in. We had received Victoria’s varning about Blake a few moments earlier and after that more and more of us showed up. They were all talking in small groups about what was going on and why Blake had acted now and not earlier. Just as I wanted to scream at everyone to shut up, Victoria walked in with Maya and Kendra. The look on their faces screamed, trouble and pain. I stood up to walk over to them but Kendra gave me a look and a small gesture with her hand telling me not to. Something was wrong, worse than we had thought. ”Is everyone here?” Victoria asked around the room. ”I don’t see Kelly, has anyone seen her?” One of the coven members asked. ”She’s not coming. Not yet.” Victoria’s tone was unsturdy and almost shaking. ”What are you saying Victoria?” ”Blake has her, I believe that he’s gonna use her to get into the Realm and here.” There was a buzz going around the room, everybody was starting to panic and feeling the fear and anger towards Blake and his revenge towards them. ”Listen up everyone! I know we all never wanted this day to come but it’s here and we need to be prepared. Blake has the royal guard behind him and inside information, he’s a few steps ahead of us so we have to act fast. Never go anywhere alone and work together through all of this. We’re gonna need potions and spells for everyone, we need to make sure that everyone can defend themselves no matter what they throw at us. Margaret, you’re in charge of potions and Oscar you go over spells with our younger members and those who feel like they need a reminder. Let’s get to work.” *** MARCEL My father was getting the guards and warriors ready, the moment here been waiting for since he was a little kid was here. Which made the guild I was feeling gross so much more and be something totally different. I never thought about how I would feel after everything with Kendra was over. If I was being honest with myself, the last weeks I had totally forgotten about the mission that my father had sent me on. Tricking her, deceiving her and pretending to be somebody else disappeared and all I wanted, was to be with her, to have her in my arms, kiss her perfect lips and waking up with the feeling of her laying next to me. No matter how my father raised me and the fact that I knew she would never truly be mine, I couldn't help but feel that was exactly what I wanted. I want her in my life, I wanted her next to me because whatever I was telling her, the 'I need yous', small bickering over cases during dinner and the 'I love yous' …  They were all real. I love Kendra. The moment I saw Nick's arms around her I knew that everything was over. No matter what I would say after that would change all the lies I told her. All the lies I told myself.  My father's right hand, Edson's voice drew me back to reality. "Marcel, it's time to get going." I let out a sight, time to go push whatever I feel or want into the back of my mind and do what my father wants. Just like it is with the rest of my life. Sometimes it feels like I'm stuck in this box my father created for me and it will corrupt me before I’ll be free of him. ”Let’s go.” I said as I walked past, not even looking at him. When I reach the great hall, I see our best fighters and my father with a woman on her knees before him. I could see the fear in her eyes, she was resisting him and knowing my father that’s not something you want to be doing. ”Father.” He didn’t look at me but the woman did, she must be a part of the coven and our ticket into their Realm. ”NOW! I’m not giving you a choice Kelly. You open the portal or your niece will be next on my kill list.” The pure evil dripped from his voice and we both knew before even looking at Kelly that she had caved to his will. ”Bukas lawang kasunyata” She mumbled and not even a second later a portal started to form in front of our army of warlocks. Edson walked first, with Kelly in hand followed by the army of fighters. I looked at my father, standing there with his arms crossed watching with a smile as the moment he had been waiting for finally arrived. ”Are you ready for this?” I asked him even if I knew his answer. ”I’ve been ready for this day for years. Let’s burn these witches to the ground son. Our revenge is here.” ”It really is dad.” I try to sound convincing, I’ve spent my entire life to make him happy and proud of me. Today is no different. I’m pathetic, a twenty seven year old coward… We walked together through the portal and when we came out on the other side the light covered us in heat, it felt nice. I shook the thought out of my head as soon as possible. This wasn’t the time or place, I was doing this and I could feel about all of these decisions when it’s all over. ”It’s time for war! Don’t show any mercy to any of them and the old lady, the leader… She’s mine. Now let’s go!” My father said his command and walked with Edson and Kelly at the front, her showing the way to the coven. The walk wasn’t long but every step I took made the guilt about what’s to come grow like crazy. We come to a halt at the base of a mountain, the fighters look confused but my father just smirks. He knew about their tricks and he knew Victoria’s way of thinking. ”Ladies first.” He said to Kelly and she hesitated but took the first step through the stone wall in front of them. After that second all hell broke loose.
