AUSTIN'S POV "Come back here!" My father's voice resounded in my ears as I closed the car's door with a loud bang! And rolled my eyes angrily. "Austin, Are you walking out on me?" My father asked thunderously but I was already walking away from him. So there was no need to even reply to that question. I continued walking without looking back despite his shout and rants as I was already used to it. One thing refused to sit well with me and that was the fact that my father was trying to gain control of my life even though I was already an adult. He wanted to be the judge of everything I do and even after I was 25 years old, he still wanted to continue controlling me while telling me he was only trying his best to give me the best! "Like, Who on earth forces their sons to get married this time and age?!" My father told me he wouldn't hand over the company to me if I don't get married although he knew I didn't even have a girlfriend not to talk of a fiancee! Would I just go to the street and bring a woman home? I was frustrated and tired with his everyday ranting but it was never up to this level before as I was good at putting up with it until now. We were in the car, driving together to the company when he brought up the conversation again and this time around, he even put time. "If you don't bring home a woman before the fall of this year, I will consider you dead and hand over the company to the needy!" My father had threatened me! Heck! I hated to be threatened and it rubbed me the wrong way! Without saying a word, I opened the car door and alighted from the car. I banged the door so hard and rolled my eyes before walking away from him! Walking down the road, I realized I had made a mistake. It was a place so far away from the main road and I couldn't get a cab! "Where exactly am I?" I had to ask myself after checking around me and realizing I was in a place I had no idea of. Not wasting time, I continued on my way and walked down the street where I saw a few buildings and I was elated. I continued walking until I saw a bar and a smile bloomed on my tired face. "Oh, God!" I groaned as I wiped the sweat off my face and entered the small bar. I walked straight to the bartender that was closest to me "Can I get a bottle of Whiskey?" I asked him and he nodded. "Yes, Sir. How many cups do you need?" The bartender asked with a polite smile on his face and I rolled my eyes. "Bring as many cups as the people you saw with me." I hissed angrily and turned to find a place to seat. I was still looking for the most quiet place in the bar when my eyes landed on a lonely lady sitting in the far corner of the room. My eyes twitched and I frowned. "She's crying" I mumbled with confusion in my voice. I wondered why she was crying but what captured my attention was the dress she was wearing. It was a f**king wedding dress! She looked like a princess in distress and it made me sympathize with her for some reasons best known to my frustrated brain. I turned to face the bartender and whispered. "That lady in a wedding dress, Is she okay?" The bartender smiled sadly and shook his head. "No... She seems to have some problems with her wedding ceremony. I don't know the details though. So, I can't tell you much, I apologize." He replied and I nodded my head. "Bring my drink to that table. I'm going to sit with her." I informed the bartender and quickly turned to walk toward the girl. "I need someone to talk to anyway. I feel like my head was going to burst too... This is for me... Not her." I convinced myself as I moved closer to her. I wasn't the nice type who would care about others but today, I just wanted to do something!... I wasn't doing it for her~ "Oi! Will you take it easy there?" I asked jokingly as I finally stood right behind her. She froze for a moment and mumbled something to herself before she turned to face me and her face lightened up. She stood up from her seat and stumbled toward me. "Cole, did you just come back? Are we going to continue with the wedding? Are you back for me?" She asked as if she was urging me to say Yes but I was confused. Who was Cole? "Erm..." I cleared my throat and waved my hand in front of her to make her see the reality. I wasn't going to act like I'm her Cole just to calm her... No, That wasn't me! I moved toward the empty seat in front of her and sat down. "I'm Austin Marl. What's your name?" I asked her as I settled myself. She stared at me for seconds and I could see the disappointment on her face as she finally realized I wasn't who she was expecting to see but did I give a f**k? Hell, No! I smiled at her. "You..." I was about to say something when the bartender brought the Whiskey and dropped it in front of me. I served myself and held the cup "How about we drink our sorrows away?" I asked her and she sighed. She seemed to be a patient person and it gladdened me. "I'm Jeanette Jones. I'm a sad woman... A ruined one at that." She replied and I chuckled. "How about a ruined woman match up with a frustrated one? Won't that make the perfect couple?" I asked her seriously.
