WHO WOKE THE DEVIL

my grandmother use to tell us a story about this very town that we live in today, she said that her story was also told to her by her grandmother which is to say that this mystery has been for a decades ago. she does tell this story looking very anxious about them but we haven't witness anything related to her stories in the town so there wasn't a reason to believe her or pay attention to her word's. i can't remember it all but I know she said something about this town "Greenville" being curse by a witch who's daughter was burnt alive. lady Lilly was a powerful witch who torments the land for a very long time, it continued until on faithfull day the village head arose and called together few trusted men, went in the night to lady Lilly's house and burnt down the house. unfortunately lady Lilly wasn't at home that very night but had her only daughter sleeping in her bedroom. the village faced great tragedy starting from the next morning as lady Lilly tried to revenge the death of her daughter she cursed the village, after casting her spell she pull out a knife and cut her throat. it was that she used her blood to seal off the spell. ever since that very day, ones it's 11:30 pm in the night being "the very time her house was burnt and her daughter dead in it", lady Lilly and her daughters ghost will start visiting the houses in the village. singing " come, come come. let it burn burn, burn, burn kill them all". any house they visited, singing the song, ones anyone shows a sign of fear they will touch the person and the person will become burnt just like lady Lilly's daughter. that was when the real mystery of the village begun!. people started dying every day, every night. people tried to leave the village but weren't able to ask it seems like everyone was trapped in the village, you can come in but can never go back as you will end up walking through the same part over and over again with no dead line. one faithful day, the village had new visitors and it was a priest and his family.. unknown to them the tragedy in the village they moved in happily. after few night the family started passing through the same challenge. the dog they kept at the garage had dead, the priest will usually anoints the doors and windows of their house with olive oil before going to bed. with this, lady Lilly and her daughter could only stay out side and be hitting on the doors and windows. causing unexplainable wind around the house. "save us, save us" the old butcher living close to the priest company started telling the priest. many of the village's also started paying to get the priest anointed oil. it became a form of business to the priest as his church started growing massively. unfortunately, it wasn't a lucky day for the priest and his family, the priest has anointed the house as usual but unknown to him his last born Mary forgot her toy outside and opened the door to go get it at around 11.29pm. before she could grab the toy and return to the house it was then 11.31 pm... lady Lilly's daughter has appeared to Mary and said to her. "hi, I like you toy? can we play? Mary not knowing who she was responded" okay no problem but who are you and what are you doing out here only you?. am not alone, my mum is here with me "she replied" Mary: where is she? Annabel: she is here, behind you.. it's been long I played with someone am gonna throw the toy to that corner let's see if you can find it. Mary: okay!!. when the priest realized that Mary wasn't in the house is rushed to go get her but getting to the door he noticed that lady Lilly is already trying to enter as Mary had given Annabel piece of her clothes and lady Lilly would use the cloth to lay on top the anointed oil.. the priest quickly shut the door and the wind blow from lady Lilly shout pushed him down. he quickly went inside his room, took his Bible, oil and some other things that no one knows and asked his wife to luck the door behind him as he had gone to save Mary. lady Lilly and Annabel were just keeping Mary alive to tempt the priest into opening the house. after the priest came out, he fought with lady Lilly, Annabel had already taken Mary beyond that she wasn't aware of what was going on anymore. Annabel through the toy inside the well in front of the company, mary who no longer understands what she was doing went after the toy same as Annable. the priest fought with lady Lilly till they all failed inside the same well. that was the last time we stopped getting attacked by lady Lilly. no one could tell what happened, some believed that the priest sacrificed himself to save the village. both the priest and Mary never came out of the well till date and the well was filled with ash, water has not flow from the well till date as well. my grandmother said that lady Lilly and Annabel didn't die, that ghost can't die the second time, that they were just trapped under the bottom of the well. she said that lady Lilly's house which was burnt down was later sold out to new families and it was rebuilt as a new property. the old burnt house contained an ancient witchcraft books which was never destroyed but was kept hidden so as no one to ever find it. my grandmother said that she fears that one day the book will be discovered and lady Lilly and her daughter might be awake. but it's all just a story, no one has ever told any story related to this in this Greenville today. how will I believe that this big city was once a village tormented by a witchcraft. and even if it is we have build a lot of houses and lady Lilly and her daughter is now buried and cemented underground so she would never be able to get out there. and know one will be able to find an ancient witchcraft book that has been lost for decades ago now. so we literally have nothing to worry about. don't know why my grandmother always sound worried about this kind thing's.. okay! where is my shoes? mum I can't find my shoes! mum!! mum!!! Mrs Jones: Jenny ! what's it have you checked under your bed. aren't old enough to know where you kept your stuffs. it's late already the school bus will be here any minute, you can miss it if not you gonna track down to school today. Jenny: found it!! Mrs Jones: nice, where did you keep it Jenny: I don't know it wasn't were I kept it before.. anyway I found it. we are having text today, We are to the summer break. Mrs Jones: is that so? you should write well so that your grades will come up. Jenny: I know mum Mrs Jones: oo the bus is here, you have to know before you are left behind. Jenny: am not done with my breakfast yet: Mrs Jones: you should get going, you can take some breads. Jenny: okay, bye mummy... love you! Mrs Jones: love you too baby!.
