Chapter 3

Amora's pov

My sleepy eyes flicker open and I closed my room's curtains last night so thankfully the sun was not creeping into my room yet.

I sit up on my bed and rub my temples. Last night images came rushing back to me.

After my dad introduced Kane to me, I tried to avoid him as much as I could last night although it wasn't as easy as I thought.

He did as if that was the first time that we met and I played along. I mean, what was I going to tell my dad?

"Oh...dad Kane and I met through a hookup site and we had s*x. He is also a professor in my school and he always teases me."

Is that what I was going to tell him? It was all a mess so I decided to play along like Kane was doing.

I was beside Stefen throughout last night and he would normally tell me not to drink much and would touch my forehead occasionally to check if I was burning up.

I had a habit of burning up when I consumed too much alcohol and he didn't let me drink. I wanted to drink a lot yesterday and just forget about what happened.

When Dad introduced Stefen to Kane and they shook hands I could see that tattoo on his wrist and my face burned up unwillingly. I think he saw that too because of that look that he gave me afterwards.

Kane and Dad were mostly together so it wasn't a problem to avoid him. That was until I excused myself to that toilet.

Immediately I entered the room, he came inside too with a smile on his face. "Why are you running away from me?" he asked.

"Mr. Kane, what are you doing here please?" I ignored the wetness that was forming in my pants and asked him with a serious face. I was also looking behind him. The door was open so anyone could see both of us in that room together. I don't want them to get that wrong idea.

"Cut the bullshit Amora." he had a frown on his face.

"Are we going to act as if we don't know each other now?" he continued.

"You started it, Mr Kane. Why are you blaming me then?" I asked him.

"Okay, fine." He came to me and placed his face on my neck. He slowly nibbled on my neck and j moaned softly.

Stefen called my name after I was gone for about twenty minutes so Kane left that room in a hurry and I went to use that toilet like nothing happened.

I couldn't stop the funny way I was breathing so when Stefen saw me in that state he was worried. I lied to him that I ran upstairs to the toilet. That's why my breath was so fast.

After that, I kind of just stayed in my room. That was the last time I saw Kane last night.

"Amora, are you awake? It's almost time to go to school." Stefen 's high high-pitched voice says as he knocks on my door softly.

"Yes, I am. I am almost done." I reply.

I get down from my bed and enter the shower. The water was warm and washed away that hangover. I still had a headache though but nothing Advil couldn't solve there.

I step out of that shower and proceed to my closet. I am feeling my best so I just wear a jean, top and my Converse to match.

I put my bottle, books, and laptop in my bag. I carry it and walk out of my room. I could perceive the pancake from upstairs as I walked downstairs and I smiled.

Mom and Stefen were there when I got there and Mom smiled when she saw me. "Morning mama." I pecked her cheeks and then went ahead to ruffle Stefen 's hair.

"Don't do that." he groans and tries to pat down his curly hair which is now all over the place. He must have taken a long time to do his hair due to the frown he has on his face.

"I'm sorry big bro." I gave him my signature pout and he couldn't resist it.

"You are too soft to be angry with her Stefen and you know it." Mum laughs and he agrees with her. "She is just too cute to make me upset," he says and I sit on the island in the kitchen.

"Come here Amora," Mum says and gives me my plate of pancake. She also places two tablets of Advil with a glass of water beside me and I smile.

"Thanks, mama."

"You shouldn't have drank so much when you know that you have to go to school today. Are you feeling okay?" she asked out of concern and I shook my head.

"I have a little headache. Apart from that I am okay." I told her and started eating.

Stefen finishes before me and goes to grab the car keys. I finished and gulped down the drugs with a nasty look on my face.

"Are you done? Let's go," he says and goes out of the house. "Be careful Amora. Your father went to the pack house so early," she tells me and I nod.

"I will be. You don't have to worry so much about me all the time."

I leave the house and enter the car with Stefen . "I guess she told you to be careful again right?" he says and I nod with a laugh.

"She is so worried about me. I don't even know why."

"You are going to the human world. I am also worried about you. It's normal Amora." he tells me and starts the ignition.

I am not looking forward to school today at all. I know that I am going to run into Kane.

He parks in front of the school and comes out of the car with me. "You don't have to come down Stefen ." I laughed but he still did.

"If you are in any trouble then call me. I will pick you up. Okay?" he tells me and I laugh.

"I can't just leave school if I want to Stefen but I will tell you."

He hugs me then enters the car and drives away.

Kane pov

I walk into the school building and I can feel the effect I have on all the female students

Some would purposely throw things in my front and then be down to show me their cleavage. I didn't mind but it was starting to get uncomfortable especially when it's not the one that I am expecting all this from.

"Mr. Kane if you don't mind can you please give these books to the physics teacher?" a co-worker asks and shoves the files in my before I can answer. The man has always been on my neck since I came here.

I nodded and held the book well in my arms then went to drop my bag in my office. After that, I proceeded to the physics teacher's office.

While walking in the hallway I couldn't help but hear the whispers that were going around the students.

"Have you heard that Amora is going out with a teacher in this school?"

"That's so disgusting!"

"Someone that can be her dad. Her dad's age mate too."

"Did you see the picture? It was too real. It isn't fake. Stop saying that."

"Trust me. I saw them with my own eyes. They were coming out of the hotel together."

"How can we be sure when the man's face was blurred? It can just be a rumor."

The noise was increasing by every minute until some noticed me in the hallway and kept quiet.

"What's going on?" I raised my voice in that Hall and many ran away to their various classes except two girls. They had a determined look on their face as they approached me.

"Good morning Sir." the one with the perky breast says with a seductive look on her face. "Good morning Sir." the girl beside her also says.

"Good morning students. What's going on?" I go straight to that point and they look at each other first then turn back to me.

"My name is Ella and she is Mirabel."

I nod.

"It is about Amora," Ella says and I hid that familiar look on my face.

"Who is Amora though? Is it the one that I told to join my research team the other day?" I asked them in an obvious way and they nodded their heads.

"Can we talk to you in your office? It's too open here. The matter is a big one." Mirabel says.

"Don't you have classes?"

"No, we don't until lunch. So we can spend that time with you."

I felt like there was another meaning to what she said.

"Okay, fine. Wait for me in my office. I have to deliver these books." I tell them and walk to the physics teacher's office.

I knock on the door to her office and enter. "Thank you so much, Kane. You didn't have to do it though. James is just jealous that all the students like you. Don't do this for him next time." Madeline says and I smile.

"I don't intend to."

From her office, I could see the outside of the school gates so I saw a car park. Amora gets out of her car and a guy does too. I couldn't see his face from where I stood but the sight of them both made my blood boil.

"What if the rumors are true? Is that the guy from the picture? " I thought to myself. I haven't seen the pictures yet though.

"Mr. Kane?" Madeline touched my arm and I looked at her.

"What?"

"You looked like you were in a different dimension." she laughed and I joined her then looked at the window again.

The car was no more and Amora was out of sight too.

"I was talking to you about something but your attention was on another place," she says and I forced a smile.

"Sorry about that. I just have a lot going on in my head. What were you talking about again?"

"I am wondering if you will be free after school this evening?" she asks shyly.

"So that's what would happen? If I am free then what?" I asked, playing dumb.

Madeline is a very attractive woman for her age. The male teachers have also tried their luck with her to no avail. I am sure that's why the other teacher asked me to give her that book in the place. She probably rejected him too.

"You know what I mean Kane. Don't make me feel more embarrassed than I already am."

"I understand Madeline but unfortunately I have a place to be after school so I won't be available to do anything today." I rejected her offer smoothly and the smile on her face fell.

"Are you sure?" she asks and I nod.

"Yes, I am."

"So it's not because you already have a girlfriend then?"

I paused to think of a good reply for her. "When I am free I will let you know." the smile came back to her face and she nodded.

"Thank you, Kane. Do you have my number?"

"Are girls this bold nowadays?" I asked myself. She was asking me to get her number.

"No, I don't but I will come to you when I am free." I left her office after saying that. I have already prolonged the conversation.

Ella and Mirabel were in my office when I got in. "You took long." they groaned.

"So tell me what happened," I told them straight forward and they frowned.

Ella brought out her phone and held it in my face. I went to sit down and they stood beside me.

The picture on her phone made me clench my fist. It was indeed Amora.
