34. Forest SightBranwyn wanted to question Corradin further about the River Folk and Carn Deas, but they were interrupted by the arrival of a Torelian patrol. The main column of people kept moving, but the patrol stopped near them and at its head Odmund beckoned to Tristan. Branwyn stopped too, hovering at the edge with Corradin while Tristan went over to the swordmaster.
Odmund spoke in a low voice so that Branwyn could only make out some of his words.
“... rearguard spotted a warband not far...” said the swordmaster. “The Princess... head them off.”
