Chapter 3 - The Second Gender

1673 Words
Aoi’s POV “Aoi—” Vlarius immediately stood up and looked at me directly in the eyes. I bit my lower lip and immediately looked away when I felt my heart suddenly racing fast. I cleared my throat and took a breath before talking. “So, I’m an Omega now.” I said without looking at him. Vlarius didn’t answer so I slowly looked at him and saw that he was just looking at me. “W-What’s with that look?” I asked him. Vlarius blinked multiple times and cleared his throat before talking. “N-Nothing, it’s just… it’s the first time you talked to me—normally.” He said and looked away. My eyebrows furrowed. Oh… I forgot, we really never talk to each other—I mean, I never talk to him. It’s not that I don’t like talking to him… I’m just not good with communicating to new people. I’m an awkward person and people would usually misunderstand me because of the way I look at them. It’s actually not my fault that I look like I’m always glaring to everyone, it’s actually my eyes’ fault. I have this sharp eyes that makes me look like I’m always angry. Because of that, people would often misunderstand me and I think Vlarius is one of those people who misunderstood me because of my eyes. I sighed. Vlarius cleared his throat again and sat down. My eyebrow furrowed and I looked at him when I saw his ears slowly reddening. Wait… Slowly, memories of last night flashed in my mind. My eyes widened and I immediately covered my mouth with my right hand and went to my bed to pick up the things that I forgot to bring to school. After picking up the things on the bed, I looked at Vlarius for the last time and my eyes widened when I saw that he’s already looking at me. I immediately covered my eyes with my long bangs, looked away from him and left the room. --- The moment I entered the classroom, I immediately went to my chair and used my earphones and played loud music. While I was looking outside the windows, I noticed on the corner of my eyes that everyone in my class has been looking at me. My eyebrows furrowed and I slowly removed my earphones. I looked in front of the classroom and saw our professor and the higher councils of the school administration standing in front of us. I looked at my wrist watch. We still have thirty minutes before the class starts, why are they here? Their eyes are still on me so I immediately removed the earphones from my ears and looked down. “Sorry.” I said, almost whispering. They all looked away from me after that. The professor then cleared her throat and raised her chin before talking. “Students, I suppose you all know what’s happening to the world right now. The world has undergone a major change and it’s affecting the humans. So, today, we’re calling out all of the students who experienced the thing called ‘heat’ these past few days, the carriers shall go to Mrs. Ganiard, the ones affected, to Mrs. Lopez and those who have not experienced anything at all, go to me.” She said. My female classmate raised her hand—I’m calling her female classmate because I really don’t know her name. I mean, I don’t know any names inside of the class except for the professors’ names. “Yes Ella?” Oh… there ya go. “Why must we be divided to different professors?” she asked. The professor smiled. “The purpose of this division is for us to find out your second genders.” After she said that, whispers of my classmates filled the room. Our professor opened her mouth and was about to talk again when the chairman of the school cut her off. He looked at us and my eyes widened when his eyes locked on me. “The second gender is our way to rank the humans now, to divide the classes. The Omegas, Betas and Alphas. Let’s just say, it’s our new way of knowing who’s capable and who’s not capable of doing things because turns out that Alphas—the highest of the ranks are the strong ones—the geniuses and the Omegas are the lowest because they’re—of course, the lowest.” He said and smirked. The room fell silent and my eyes widened. This douchebag is discriminating the students! I was about to stand up when one of our classmates stood up—it was the class president. He looked at the chairman and the professors in front of us with anger written on his face. “Yes Mr. Daven?” “The Chairman is clearly discriminating the students. He wants to check our second genders because he wanted to divide us!” Daven shouted. The room fell silent again and our eyebrows furrowed when the Chairman suddenly laughed. “Discriminating the students? No, we’re not doing that. I’m just saying that the Omegas should be put on their own proper places to avoid affecting those who are higher than them. Am I right students? I mean, you should know that yourself, after all, you’re a carrier and you know how the heat that you guys are releasing when you’re in your heats affects the Alphas.” He said with a smile on his face. I gulped. The chairman is smiling but I know it’s not real, he’s obviously putting up a show—acting like his intentions are pure. I looked around and saw my classmates’ eyes directly looking at Daven. Those eyes were judgemental, they’re looking at Daven as if he’s a disgusting person. I bit my lower lip and grabbed my bag and immediately left the classroom. “Professors, start the testing and immediately transfer the place the students in a classroom with the similar ranks. Don’t ever mix them up.” Those were the last words I heard before I left the classroom. --- I sat under the tree behind the school building and sighed. I don’t want to go to the rooftop because it’s packed with students. I really am not comfortable with socializing with other students because I know that they’ll just end up misunderstanding me because of my eyes. I sighed again and laid my back on the tree. I took out my earphones and placed them on both of my ears and covered my face with my notebook. --- “So, the chairman entered our classroom and said that we must get tested to know our second genders and he said that Omegas are the lowest! Like, why?!” Marvin ranted while walking beside me. I sighed. I think the Chairman and the school staffs are discriminating the students by their ranks now. If the student’s gender is Alpha, they’ll be treated like they’re special students because of their ‘capabilities’, but if their second gender is Omega, they’ll be denied of everything! They didn’t say it directly like that but their intentions are showing—and it’s clear as the day. I clicked my tongue and looked away when something captured my attention. A student laying on the tree behind the school building, his face is covered with a notebook but there’s something about him that’s really familiar. When the notebook fell from his face, I finally recognized who it was. It was Aoi who’s sleeping like a baby. I smiled and was about to leave that place when I noticed two students approaching Aoi. My eyebrows furrowed and my eyes squinted. I was just gonna ignore it because I thought that they were just passing by when I saw one of them sitting beside Aoi and touching his face. My instincts kicked in and without any hesitations, I immediately ran towards Aoi’s direction. Before the students could even lay their fingers on Aoi’s body again, I kicked and punched their faces. “Yo what the f**k?!” “What the hell?! Why did you kick us?!” I glared at them and their eyes widened. “V-Vlarius—” “How dare you lay your dirty hands on him…” I said with anger in my voice. One of them spit blood before talking. “It’s because he smells so sweet! You can’t blame us! He’s an Omega and we’re Alphas!” My jaw clenched in anger. I glared at them. I grabbed the student’s collar and was about to hit them when I felt someone tugging my uniform. I looked behind me and it was Aoi. “Aoi..” “Don’t hit them… it’s alright, let them go.” He said in a low voice. I sighed and let go of the student’s collar. The students ran away and I looked at Aoi who’s in front of me. “Come, you can’t be alone in places like this.” I said to him. I saw Aoi bite his lower lip. I thought that he was gonna reject coming with me but I was taken aback when he actually nodded his head. I gulped and cleared my throat. We were so quiet when we were walking away from that place. I thought that it was gonna stay that way when Aoi finally spoke. “Thank you.” I stopped walking and looked at him. Aoi slowly looked at me and my lips parted when I saw his eyes underneath his bangs. I was about to touch his face when his face suddenly reddened and his eyes widened. “Hey are you—” my eyes widened when a familiar sweet scent suddenly spread in the air. “S-s**t…” “f**k! It’s your heat!” I looked around and saw students who are looking at us. It looked like they also smelled Aoi’s scent! I immediately took his hand and pulled him. We ran until we reached the nearest vacant  janitor’s room. I opened the door and entered the room together with him. I was gasping for air when I felt Aoi hugging me from the back. “Aoi—” “Please… f**k me…” My eyes widened. Aoi’s totally lost it, he finally gave in to his heat. I immediately covered my mouth to prevent myself from smelling his scent but that didn’t work at all. I can still smell his scent and because the room is closed, his scent is filling the room! I gulped and my heart started racing when I felt my d**k jolting up. Oh no, here we go again. --- NOCTURNALBEAST
