Dairus and Ella both hug their daughter tightly wishing her a belated birthday over and over again, they had left for a business meeting which took longer than expected and thus they couldn’t attend the party

Ella didn’t let her go as she keep pouring kisses all over her face if anyone at all has spoilt Lora it’s her mother who loves her only child so dearly and wish to give her everything she ever wants they were still having a moment when they heard a knock on the door they both look up at the door to see who it is

Both Sean and Sarah entered the room and Lora smiling face turned sour seeing her, Sarah who was sure her presence in the room has made an abrupt change in the room gave a little cackle smile before moving forward to hug Dairus whose hand was already open to receive her

he gave her a peck on the forehead, disengaging from him she move to hug Ella who gave a smile before pulling in for a hug which they both quickly withdraw from

“How was the party? Trust you girls had the best time?” Dairus asked beaming at the two who were giving each other intense stares

they stayed quiet for a long time not sure what to say or how to say it the remaining three stare at them wondering what is going on between them since the look on their face wasn’t a pleasant one

“Did something happen when we were gone?” Ella asked Sean while looking from the one person to another, Sean shrugged and also gaze confused at the two who keep staring at each other with animosity

suddenly Sarah laughed out loud confusing everyone including Lora of her abrupt action she pull her closer with her glower gone and traded with an ecstatic look

“Ding! We are just fooling you guys, the party was great” she said cheerfully and tug at Lora who stood dumbfounded to act along with her

“You don’t want your parent to know how much of a loser you are, do you?” she whispered closely to her ears sure that no one else in the room heard her

“If you don’t want your parents to find out that their daughter isn’t capable of keeping her man and has lost him to another girl who’s more capable then you should play along with me” she whispered again and Lora frown her face hard at every word she says, hesitating for a moment before changing her frown into a smile

“that’s right we were just pulling your legs everything is absolutely fine like Sarah said” she response and pull away from her hold gently not wanting to raise any more suspicion in front of her parents, she agree not to reveal anything now, not because Sarah is so right she’s a Carver she shouldn’t let anyone take advantage of her and hurt her this much while she sits back and do nothing she should fight back and show the two just how capable she is.

After the act in front of her parents she went instantly to find Fred and just like she thought he was in Sarah’s room resting on the bed immediately she entered the room he sprang up in fright at the unexpected Intrusion he look shock to see Lora who was looking daunting she match forward to meet him

“I have decided” she said and Fred stare at her befuddled not understanding what she meant by her words

“What?” he asked

“I can’t break up with you”

“no I won’t break up with you either will I let you and Sarah to be together, it’s either I have you or she doesn’t” she stated sternly leaving him more surprise

she stare at him and turn to leave just as she pull the lock the door also push open at the other side and Sarah step into the room also surprise to see Lora in her room

“What are you doing here?” she asked eyeing the two

“To tell him I will not let him go at least not to you” she said and push pass her leaving the door ajar and the two looking staggered.

True to her words, Lora refuse to let go of him and since Fred and Sarah aren’t daring enough to let anyone else know about their shameful secret, they tried so hard to keep it from everyone. Lora has taken this opportunity to flaunt herself as Fred’s girlfriend and since he couldn’t dare to refuse her in public he was forced to act along with her although behind the doors she has to watch helplessly the display of affection by the two

despite this, she continue pretending to be okay and hope that sooner Fred will realize his mistake and come back to her.

Few hours left for her to resume school at college and things are still bad between her and Fred the past days has been like war and conflict between them and she’s having hard time accepting the fact that Fred no longer have interest in her but now with Sarah.

the two made the her remaining days before resumption an hell for her, she tried hard to draw him back to herself but the more she does that the more pathetic she looks.

Lora had thought college life will be full of happiness and fun as long as she has Fred and Sarah with her during the journey but now the two might not be part of her journey or maybe they would be but rather than bring her joy and companion they would the opposite instead.

Bunch of clothes was scattered on the bed with her big box put beside it she look at the set of clothes on the bed and sigh all her life as a child and as a teenager she has rely on Fred choosing her clothes for her she wears whatever he wanted her to and never for once as she dress otherwise but now staring at the clothes settled on her bed she has no clue whatsoever on what to bring along with her, all her time and choices has always been for the same person, Fred Waverley and now imaging a life without him is making her lose her mind she has been trying for hours to prepare her things but the thought of what the two might be doing alone made her blood boil and she finds it hard to concentrate on any other task

She has planned to spend this evening with him while they both pack her things for school in the best romantic way and then spend the night together in each other arms like she loves to, she lie down on her bed ruffling the clothes on them without no care she felt her body heat rising from the hotness she was feeling as she let tears flow down her face hearing a knock on her door she wipe her face clean with a tissue and wait for whosoever it is to enter

“How’re you girl?” Chess greeted cheerfully as she walk in holding her puppy in her hands

“I told you not to bring your dog into my room” she snap angrily looking at the puppy

“Oh come on Lora, why the unhappy face we are going to college tomorrow you should be happy” she said still sounding excited but Lora was in no mood to entertain her happiness now all she needed was to be alone to figure out things

“Wait! Where’s Fred? Shouldn’t he be here to help with your clothes?” she asked seeing the scattered clothes all over the place

“H...he’s...busy” she stammered not sure what excuse to give all through their time of being together, there has never been a time he was too busy for her at least not when she’ going to be starting a new phase of life

“Busy? That’s unusal Fred is never busy he’s always there for you no matter what unless he has tasted the college life and decide to change his love” Chess said and laughed at her own words finding it funny not realizing the fuming Lora who was glaring fuming at her, she stopped laughing and stare back at her not getting why she looks so upset she was just making an harmless joke

“That’s a joke” she said to be clear

“besides Fred loves you a lot he won’t do anything like leaving you for a college girl” she added and sat down on the pile of clothes putting her puppy down beside her.

Well Fred is not someone to leave her because of college girls but he’s the type to betray her for her friend or now ex-friend she can’t consider Sarah her friend anymore not after what she did, she totally stole her man and didn’t feel a bit sad or remorseful about it, also she stays at her house and share her parents with her of all people she almost couldn’t believe Sarah would be the one to betray her like this.

Thinking about the whole thing again Lora sprang up from the bed giving Chess who was busy with the clothes arrangement a turn, she’s Lora Carver not a coward or a fool who just stay and do nothing after being betrayed by some set of cheats the fault is not in any way hers but it’s the fault of those two who are treachery and hurt her without no care, then why should she be here crying and feeling awful they should be the ones feeling abysmal and guilty for what they have done to her

She walk towards the door totally ignoring Chess who was asking what was wrong with me this isn’t time for her to answer to anyone’s curiosity but time to set things straight she thought as she walk down the passage to Sarah’s room though she hate to admit it she’s sure Fred will be with her too, like an hour ago she has been standing at the door of her room listening to the two squeaks inside while she stood outside grieving.

Without a care she bang on the door asking for them to open up if the door wasn’t locked she would have barge in on them but since the day she find out about them Sarah has always make sure to lock her out of her room to prevent her from intruding them although she has tried severally to get her room spare keys from her mother who could own the keys it hasn’t been easy she has tried stealing the keys but has no idea where they are kept and asking will only bring her to suspect something is going on

The door opened and Lora burst in not giving any chance for them to lock the door back on her, with a forceful movement she walk to meet Sarah who was lying on the door, unaware of what she’s about to do Sarah laid still waiting for her to come over

“what’s with this rude attitude…” she was saying when Lora move closer enough and let her palm reach for her face without no hesitation she landed a hit on her face putting her all strength in the stroke after making seeing she succeeded in her little revenge she stood still in front of her watching her groaning face, Fred run over to them looking shock at her action

“What the hell Lora? What was that for?” he asked and grab her hand angrily pulling her slightly away from Sarah and stood in the front of the two

“You son of a b***h” she said lowly facing Fred who widen his eyes surprised to hear her say that to him

“I loved you and trusted you so much yet you chose to hurt my feelings and cause me to be miserable you animal” she yelled at him fighting her tears

Sarah stood up looking furious she made for Lora who was oblivious of her in a swift she was push away by Fred who saw in time the glass Sarah was about to drop on her, Lora mourned in pain at the sudden push since she was caught unaware she couldn’t maintain her stand and ended falling on her side to the floor

Refusing his outstretch hands Lora pick herself up from the floor and stare dagger at him thinking he pushed her to retaliate for Sarah who she hit minutes ago she move closer to him and stroke him on the cheek

“b***h!” she snapped “I won’t let you two get away with this” she said looking so determined “you guys messed with the wrong person and am going to make sure you to regret this” she said and place a hand on her face to stop her tears from flowing any further, giving the both of them a last glance she walk out of the room.

Just as she step out of the room she collided with Sean who was just about to knock on the door he held her back seeing her teary face not wanting him to see her in such condition she push pass him but Sean wasn’t ready to let go of the issue he went after her and waited for her to get inside her room before he force her back again and turn her forceful to look at him

“What is wrong with you?”

“Let go of me Sean” she said harshly

“Why, you are crying and looking like an ugly duckling”

“That’s not any of your business” she snapped at him

“Oh so you admit you are an ugly duckling” he said and his lips parted in a smirk

“Sean” she shouted

“come here baby cousin” he said and pull her into an hug although she was reluctant since Chess was in the room with them She still allow herself to be pull into his arms even though he mostly act like he doesn’t care about her in front of their friends he really hates it when she hurts and cry out helpless

“You know am here to help right?” he stated and pat her on the head gently

“If you hadn’t brought her here this wouldn’t have happen” she said blaming him and stiff back her tears

“Who? Sarah?” he asked and pull her shoulders gently backward making her face him

“I don’t want to talk about it” she said and pull away finally, sitting back on her bed and held Chess hand who was staring at the two the whole time

“What did she do?” he asked getting anxious

“I know she will one day cause trouble” Chess said although she doesn’t understand what was going on hearing Sarah’s name she couldn’t resist chipping in their conservation

“mind your business blonde” Sean throw angrily at her “we’ll talk later Lora” he said and leave the room to Sarah’s room he has wanted to see her and talk before she finally leave for college tomorrow he really don’t know why she chose to study in a faraway state while she can just study very nearby there are lot of good college where she could have choose to go but she decided to follow Lora along to her boyfriend’s college which is like six hours away.

He open her door without bothering to knock she has always warn him never to come into her room without knocking and her excuse is that she might be doing something he shouldn’t see, all these time he has thought her words to mean differently from what he’s seeing right now

“Were they smooching each other?” he asked himself in total disbelief

They stop their action when they heard the door open and felt another intruder watching them, the shock on Sarah’s face was unexplainable when she saw the intruder is Sean she froze on the spot as sweat settled on her forehead that instant she couldn’t find the right word or action rather than grip onto Fred who is also in equal shock the three all stare at each other but the stares wasn’t for a long time as Sean move forward with a fearful force and hit him on the face not satisfied with just a punch he proceed to give him another one and was about to beat him to a pulp before he yield to Sarah’s cries and plead to let him go still feeling furious he storm out of the room to vent his rage.

Not giving a thought to what Fred might feel Sarah ran after him and manage to stop him only when he was about to enter into his car, he shook her off but she held on still not wanting him to leave

“Please Sean listen to me” she pleaded

“Get away from me Sarah don’t make me hit you” he warned and push her off again

“Stop being a chick and listen to me” she yelled angrily

Sean turn to her with his fury in his eyes he move closer to her and she move back from him scared he might really hurt her

“Am sorry I just wanted you to talk to me” she apologized and look down at her feet

“You wanted to talk to me? About what? Betraying my cousin or cheating on me with a friend?” he asked his voice sounding harsh and in a yell

“I just got carried away for a moment, seriously there’s nothing going on between me and Fred, what you saw was nothing”

“Nothing?” he asked in disbelief “you both were locking lips and it’s nothing?” he yelled again

“Please stop yelling Sean, it’s your fault these happened” she said irritated at him

He scoff angrily and stare at her “so it’s my fault for loving you, for allowing you stay in my house and cheating on me” he stated his mood getting more infuriated

“you brought me into your house but never have time for me Sean, every day I long for you to come to me but you came I feel lonely every time and Fred came right in need and gave me the comfort I always desire for he gave me the love and care I asked for…”

“So I don’t care for you?” he cut in

“All you do is give me money you never make time for me I feel lonely and wanted attention but he’s the only one who I found solace in”

“Are you crazy? Your words sound very irritating to my ears I caught you cheating on me and the only thing you could say is this?” he asked in bewilderment

“All am trying to say is that he’s just a distraction that’s all there’s nothing more involved” she said casually surprising him

“You are really crazy Sarah I never know you are this shameless and loose” he retorted and entered the car

Sarah tried to stop him again but failed as he drove out of the building she stare at his car till it went out to the huge gate.

With a downcast mind she walk back inside the house and went back into her room to meet Fred who is nursing his injured face not sparing him a glance she move to sit on the bed away from him

“I thought you were done with him, am I wrong to think you are?” he asked following her movement with his eyes.

She ignore him and pick up her phone to call Sean she look frustrated when her calls keep getting rejected she throw the phone back on the bed in anger not knowing what else to do Sean has always been her access card to be in the Carver’s house if she lose him now it’s means everything is over she’s never getting another chance

“Sarah? Are you ignoring me?” Fred asked abandoning his injury

“Can you just leave? Am tired”

“You left the room and ran after another guy leaving me to nurse my injury alone, came back and ignore me again and now you are asking me to leave”

“Stop pestering me Fred” she yell

“I’m trying to settle things here do you know how bad it is for us that Sean found us out, if he decide to go all out about this do you think you will be able to solve things?” she asked in an annoyed tone

“I’m sure your girlfriend is the one who let him onto us, she must have told him in other to get her revenge on me” she said her expression turning melancholic as she turn to the other side of the room pretending to be devastated

Fred wanted to place his hands on her to console her the whole thing is his fault he should have taken care of both siblings right from the start and now they are making his relationship with Sarah turn sour, he turn back to the door with a determined thought he has sure delayed it for a long time this time he will make sure to set things straight with Lora once and for all he won’t allow any mixed feelings get in the way of his decision he has chosen Sarah over Lora and that he will stick to.
