The two girls sat down on the bed staring at each other without saying anything, all what Chess saw and heard wasn’t enough to make her understand the situation but she’s sure that all isn’t well she wasn’t sure if she should fire her questions at her or not and the countenance on Lora’s face isn’t helping her face look stone-cold

They both held a piece of cloth each not ready to pack it inside the box separating them

“You really don’t wanna talk?” Chess finally speak up seeing that the stares is not going to do anything

“Talk about what?” she asked pretending not to understand her

“The drama that happened minutes ago?” she asked again

“No need to lay it on thick Chess”

“I think I deserve an explanation we are friends aren’t we?” she persuaded

“Look I don’t want to talk about it now maybe when am feeling good enough to talk I will let you in”

“So how is Sean involved in this drama?”

“Come on Chess drop it” she said almost in a yell and Chess put up her hands in submission

Reluctantly they both pack the rest of the clothes inside the bag and do some other stuff before Chess finally decide to leave for her house.

Back at Fred’s place he open the door to the living room and met his parents and sister having a little chat they greeted him as he entered and he responded coldly not waiting for their numerous questions

he made quickly to his room and lock the door after him in a flash he remembered how he wanted to go meet Lora today and give her a piece of his mind but lost the courage to the moment he got to her door

even though he claim to love Sarah he still doesn’t want to lose Lora all these years of friendship and love shouldn’t go to waste he has tried keeping the two girls for himself

but now that Lora has find out and it appears Sarah doesn’t want Lora sharing the same man with her things are becoming uncontrollable for him and now he’s caught in a dilemma on whom to really give up and who to stay with,

“Lora Carver who has been a friend since forever or Sarah who understand him?” he sighs heavily thinking about the two choices.

Still lost in confused thoughts, his mother walked in and sat down beside him to give him breakfast made of sandwich and glass of milk

“I brought your favorites son” she said cheerfully

Not really interested in eating he wanted to reject the tray of food but his eyes caught glimpse of the scar on her shoulder

“Did he hit you again?” he asked with despite in his eyes

“Don’t address your father like that” his mother caution but he would have none of it, he stood up wanting to go confront his father but his mother quickly hold him to stop him and begged

“Please let it go, for my sake” she pleaded

“No mom, I should kill the beast for your sake, not let him off” he protested but his mother refuse to let go and cry on him until he decided not to leave.

Not wanting to his mother more, he reluctantly munch on the food she brought and let her watch as he finish up before she left his room.

Since he was in a sully mood, he decide to just retire to bed much earlier and wake up for college the next day.

The journey for Lora was so long and lonely not anything like she planned it to be, Sean had offered to accompany her on the journey but she has bluntly refuse telling him she’s not a baby that can’t handle a mere heartbreak

But who is she kidding? Her heart seems pierce over and over again as she thinks about the whole thing, just before the week her life was perfectly well and good but in just a moment everything turned sully and blue.

Thanks to Chess help she had sent most of her stuffs to her new apartment a day before resumption and now she has only her handbag and a small bag to take with her.

While she was still sullying, the car came to a halt and she sighs heavily before getting out of it with the chauffeur taking the small bag up to the apartment, she was about to follow when someone call out her name

“Lora Carver?” the person called doubtingly

Turning to see who it could be since the voice seems a bit unfamiliar, Lora was both surprise and disappointed to see it’s one of her classmates, Julliard College is far away from the high school and so she has never thought someone from school would apply there except for Sarah and her of course

“Hey, Lara” she said in a pretentious excitement

“I thought you had chosen one of the closest university to study at, who could have thought you will once again cling to Fred” she mockingly commented and gave a fake smile

“And you are still infatuate over my boyfriend” she attacked directly and the smile on Lara’s face turned sour

“You are just lucky you were childhood friends, am sure Fred wouldn’t glance at you twice if otherwise” she blurted crossing he arms around her chest

“It’s not my fault your parents are so poor and can’t afford to live in wealthy environment, we knows you might also find some geek to grease your ass”

Done with her Lora walked into her room slamming the door hard, she stare down through the window and saw her still glaring at the building, with a hiss she ignore her and slam herself on the bed as the chauffeur leaves.

“What now?” she asked herself

Back in high school, a lot of girls had envy her relationship with Fred wanting to be in her shoes, some had even tried seducing him but he has refuse all their temptations and remained faithful to her.

Lara Park was her greatest competitor of all time and not only for Fred but for every other things there is to compete about, luckily she has richer parents so she had a higher hand which make others nicknamed Lara as her shadow who can never outshine her.

She loved it too and having Fred to herself made her victory much sweeter but now she no longer has that upper hand, her boyfriend who was her trump card is gone.

Hot tears run down her cheeks as she ruminates but she quickly regain herself and clear her wet cheeks when the doorbell rings

“Who the f**k is that?” she asked annoyed at the interruption

Coming to the door, the two people she doesn’t want to set eyes on grace her view, Sarah was with her luggage while Fred stood behind her with their hands wrapped together

“What the hell are you doing here?” she said glowing hot

“This apartment has my name too remember?” Sarah push pass her with her two bags and place them drop them on the floor dramatically

“Mum wasn’t happy with you having to travel alone without me, neither was I” she said firmly

“I’m sure she wanted you out of her house too”

Sarah smirked at her words and shrugged her off going to the bedroom but Lora stops her before she could reach the handle to the door

“Get the f**k off my door!” she yelled

“That’s your room” she said again, looking at the opposite door to hers

Before she goes back to her room, her eyes went to Fred who was still standing at the door not coming in, she wanted to go meet him and pull him into a hug convincing him to come back to her but at the last second she entered back into her room.

“This isn’t a good idea” Fred said as they close the door behind them

“What do you mean?” Sarah asked struggling to get het bags to the bed

“You could live with me in my apartment, why do you have to live here with her?”

“Because this is also my apartment” she said almost in a yell

“It’s uncomfortable seeing her…”

“I don’t care!” she snapped

“Well I do okay? I can’t have my ex-girlfriend and babe in the same house” he scream back at her, but regretted that immediately as Sarah’s face turned disappointed

“You still have feelings for her?” she asked gently

“No what are you saying? This is for your own good”

“Well I saw the way she stared at you minutes ago and how demoralized you looked”

“Sarah please stop with the nonsense and be reasonable here, I don’t like this” he persisted

Seeing she might not win this, Sarah quickly switch to the honey trap and enclasp him, she soon begin to kiss him and they forgot about their argument for the day.

After the orientation for the new students the next day, Lora unlike others decided to skip the after-party to find a quiet place for herself to get drown in her sadness, during the coordination she has seen two of her high school students among the newly admitted which means sooner the news of her bad relationship with Fred will soon be exposed publicly.

In her department, there is Justin as her senior and he keep glancing at her as if keeping an eye on her which also made her really uncomfortable and gave her more reasons to avoid going to the after-party.

Just as she was about to drive out of the place to another bar, someone stops beside her car, halting her from opening the door

“Hi Lora”

Lora look closely and realize under the dark light that it was one of her high school mate who she can’t seems to remember her name

“Can I get a lift?”

Lora want to refuse since she hates having people like her near her say more in the car with her, but then she figured a kindness wouldn’t hurt and stiffly nod her head.

“I never expect you to study here, I thought you had go to the biggest university in the world to study like...”

“Why would you think that?” she asked irritably as not just her but a lot of people said the same thing to her

“Because you are Lora Carver” she simply said with a nerdy smile

“What’s that supposed to mean?” she couldn’t help but ask further

“Well, you are one of the happening babes in back then in school, your words was law and you were given the richest student in the whole school”

“What’s your name?” she wanted to know

“Nicki, my parents gave me the name because I look so much like the singer” she said beaming

Lora took seconds look at her and try not to laugh out loud, it was so ridiculous thinking she resemble Nicki minaj with this face, except for the fact that she’s quite hippy and curvy her face looks more like a clown

“Why didn’t you join the after-party?” Nicki wanted to know

“Just felt like it”

“Me too, I wanted to drink alone at this local bar”

Although Lora doesn’t seems interested in talking to her or knowing things about her, she didn’t find their conversation boring so far, she felt a talk with a nerdy and well, not-well-to-do fellow will be really irritating but it looks bearable.

They both got off at the local bar Nicki intended to go and entered the small bar house, they settled at the last seat beside the wall while Nicki get up to get their drinks

After drinking and dining she found Nicki to be a really good companion and became friends with her, when they were done with their little enjoyment, the night was far spent and Nicki who lives in the school hostel couldn’t make it for the curfew as it was few minutes past ten already

“Come stay with me for the night” Lora suggested and Nicki yipped happily to this.

The two got into the car again and head off to the apartment just ten minutes away, they talked a bit on their way and stop when they got to the door, Lora instinctively brought out the key to open the door but it wasn’t locked anymore.

Feeling alarmed someone might have broken in, she realize it must have been Sarah who unlock the door since she also lives there

“I guess my roommate is back” she said and they both walk in

The sitting room was dark and she had to struggle some few steps before finding the switch, placing her hand on it she switch it to the fullest and almost faint at the scene in the room.

Sarah and Fred enclasp together in a deep intense and mind-blowing smooching, with their clothes scattered all around and they roll on the floor like cuddled snakes munching each other out

Lora felt crushed into multiple pieces at the moment as she stare devastated on a spot too crumpled to move her bones, her head feels heavy and so does her chest as both anger and irritation feels her up

“Holy s**t!” Nicki exclaimed and this brought the attention of the lovebirds

Feeling so nauseated Lora ran to the bathroom and throw up in disgust, the scene was too obnoxious for her and the thigh pangs of heartache made her sick.

She went back to her room soon after she cleaned up and met Nicki already on the bed

“What are you doing here?” she asked her voice sounding harsh

She knew it was ridiculous asking such question since she was the one that invited her over and left her in the sitting room

“You don’t look good” she point out and Lora replied her with a hiss

“Weren’t those two your boyfriend and sister?” she said again and Lora almost lost it, the worse thing to hear right now is about those two bitches.

“Yeah! My boyfriend cheated on me with someone I called my sister and they both live with me making my life so miserable….”

She wanted to say more but stop, her heavy leg drag around the room to the nearest floor to the bed and she felt down broken with bitterness and sorrow

“this isn’t the Lora Carver I know” Nicki said standing up from the bed

“you can mock me all you want and spead the news as far as you wish, I don’t f*****g care”

“why would I do that to my friend?” she replied

After a long hour of consoling her in a hug, Lora eventually get rid of her sadness and both went to bed after a long shower but before they could rest for the day, Nicki gave her an advice

“rather than mop over the cheat, why not take revenge on him instead”

“what?” she asked confused

“the best way to deal with betrayers like this is to pay them back in their own coins” she said again and Lora’s expression lighted up

“why not try a code I know?” she suggested and smile then whispered into her ears

Hearing what she has to say, Lora gave it a short thought and felt it might just be the perfect thing to do, take revenge on Fred.
