Chapter 11: The Ferris Wheel

2277 Words
“Or because you’re in love with my daughter?” My father fixes his gaze on Warren, which is impossible to read. Before I could change the subject, Warren cut me off. “Both.” I nearly choke on the water I was drinking. “What?” He turned to me and smiled. “Adam hired me to take care of you and to keep you from danger. I know I was very stern and professional at first but once I took you to the cabin, things changed. You made me feel like I could be myself. I feel carefree every time I’m with you. It’s been a few rough months for you and yes, I’m sorry I broke your phone.” I laughed. “But, I’m not doing this just to protect you but because I’ve fallen in love with you.” He slowly got down on one knee and took a small box out of his jacket. “Charlotte, will you marry me?” “YES! YES!” He smiled and slid the ring on my finger. “I had to make this memorable in front of your parents.” “So Warren.” He looked at my dad and smiled. “Yes, sir?” “Tell me a little about yourself since we haven’t had the chance to talk. How did you become her bodyguard?” I watch with interest as Warren talks with my father. He seems so at ease with my dad. While the two men talk, Hannah whispers into my ear. “It looks like your dad really likes him.” I smile and hug her. “I agree.” I can’t believe I’m engaged to Warren! It feels like a fairy tale dream that I just woke up to. I couldn’t help but smile. Warren looks over at me and smirks. I think back to everything we’ve gone through. I’m so glad he feels the same way. That night: “Are you sure you don’t need anything?” My mother asked. “Yes, we’re good.” “No tea or water?” “Mom. We’re good.” “Fine, fine. I’ll leave now.” She hugs me then walks to the door, closing it behind her. Warren can’t seem to hold in his laugh any longer. “It’s so not funny!” “It kind of is babe.” “I can’t believe you proposed.” “I couldn’t wait any longer.” He walks towards me and bends down so his lips are inches from mine. I shut my eyes as I felt his breath against my lips. His hand wraps around my waist while the other comes up to cup my cheek. His am guides me closer until our bodies are fully lined up. I can feel every part of his strong body pressing up against mine, building pleasure in between my legs. He carefully leans forward to press his lips to mine. My body immediately responds, not being able to resist him any longer. My arms wrap around his neck as I part my lips and kiss him back. When his tongue brushes up against mine, I shiver in pleasure. It feels different this time. Every soft caress, every gentle touch, every passionate connection of his tongue on mine tells me what he’s feeling inside. When he breathes out, he sighs my name, and it forms something in my chest. Something so painfully good that I never want it to end. His fingers move down to grasp my top and slowly, they begin to pull it up and over my head. I follow his lead and lift his shirt up so I can feel his warm skin. His hands softly grip the back of my thighs. He effortlessly lifts me up until my legs are wrapped around him. I feel almost weightless as he climbs onto the bed and lays me down beneath him. His lips trail down my neck, causing a low moan to escape from my lips. “I love the way you taste.” He interlaces his fingers with mine and pins my hands up by my head. He slowly grinds his hips against my thighs, cousin my legs to tremble from the friction. As he sucks my neck, my back arches from the pleasure. Before I can moan his name, he lays his hand over my mouth. “Shh…” His lips come back up to capture mine and swallow my moans. A hand travels down between my legs causing me to start trembling. “We have to be quiet, baby.” His fingers slowly enter inside me. “Think you can be quiet, baby?” As he speeds the pace up, he kisses me before I can moan. “Please f**k me.” I grip the sheets as I feel his hardness rub against me, hitting all the right spots until he slowly slides inside me. “f**k, holy shit.” “Shh..” He picks up the pace once he’s fully inside me, kissing me causing me to reach my breaking point. “I’m gonna c*m. Oh my god.” His mouth covers mine before I scream. I wrap my legs around his hips to feel him deeper, causing the ripple to travel down my body. “f**k baby, I’m gonna cum.” After we’re both done, he pulls out and lays next to me. A smile comes across his face when he sees me moving closer. His arm comes around my waist, and he pulls me tight into his side. “I love you.” He whispered. “Warren, I love you too. So so much.” The next morning, I’m helping my mom with lunch. “It was nice of you to give the chef a day off.” “Well, I can’t always expect her to work everyday, can I?” “No. I’ve just never seen you this happy.” “He seems very sweet.” “He is mom.” “And strong, too.” “I know.” “He definitely is a man with good morals compared to you know who.” I roll my eyes. “He’s an asshole. I’m filling out papers for divorce today and sending them to him.” “I can’t believe you’re engaged, honey!” “I love Warren. I really do.” She smiled at me warmly. “I’m so glad sweetheart.” *One hour later: “I have to say Charlotte, your mom and I are so glad you’re here. This meal is good. Whenever she tries to cook, we get take-out.” “Oh hush Richard.” “I think it’s delicious, Mrs. Harrington.” My mother gives him a warm smile. “See, that’s how real men are supposed to act, Richard.” My father laughed. “You made me look bad Mr. Garcia.” My father claps Warren on the back while my mother rolls her eyes. “You could learn a thing or two from him.” “I think I got lucky with this one.” A small smile comes across Warren’s face but he stays silent. “So, what are your plans now, Charlotte?” “What do you mean?” “Are you going to announce you’re alive?” “I guess I haven’t really thought about it.” “I’m so happy you’re here.” “We don’t want you to go.” My mother said, sadly. “Your mother and I have been talking, and we’ll help you in any way we can. If you need a place to stay, food, or clothing, you name it. It’s yours.” “Anything sweetie.” “I can even help get you a job, Char.” “And with your dad’s connection with the government, we could get you a new ID if you want to start all over.” “What brought this on?” “We love you, Charlotte. Your mother and I want to be part of your life again.” “Letting you go all those years was the biggest mistake.” “We can make it up to you although we fully can’t take it all back. We missed out on so many years. So many holidays.” “Will you consider letting us back into your life? Let us help you.” “Of course, mom! I love you both. How could I not?” I get up and hug them both, seeing tears in their eyes. “We love you, too.” “I’ll make some calls this afternoon. We’ll do anything. Housing but we’d love for you both to stay.” “I’d like that. I have to give it some thought. I feel like Warren and I can’t even go anywhere.” “There may be a solution. What about the amusement park?” “What?” “The event they hold every Halloween? You used to love going.” “I don’t know mom.” “It’s Halloween. Just dress up and no one will even recognize you.” “I don’t know, mom.” “It sounds like it might be good for you to get out of the house, Char. Your mom is right.” “Good! It’s settled.” “Do you have any masks here?” “No, but we can sure find something.” “Fine, fine.” Two days later: A date with Warren at the amusement park sounds so fun! I should find something nice to wear. Once I finished, I smiled. Warren will love this. “Babe? You ready?” “Yes!” Once we got there, I forgot how many rides there were. “What should we do first?” Warren smiled. “You can pick, baby.” “Huh?” “Nothing.” “Tell me!” “I’m just glad to see you happy.” I feel myself starting to blush. “Thanks. Where should we go first?” “Wherever you want, baby.” “How about the haunted house?” “Really? I didn’t expect them to have one of those.” “You’re not scared, are you?” Warren rolls his eyes. “Which way is it?” “This way.” I grabbed his hand and took him to the haunted house. “That tall, creepy building?” “Hey, don’t be like that. We’ll be fine. Besides, you’ll have me and I’d like to see if you get scared.” “I don’t scare easily.” “We’ll see.” As we approach the house, a clown is holding a red balloon. I go to walk past the clown, but Warren stops. “What’s wrong?” “What?” “Why’d you stop?” “I didn’t.” “You don’t like clowns. Do you?” “Let’s go in.” Hmm, he must not like them. When we get inside, it’s pitch black. The flickering lights and the small lit-up arrows on the floor are the only things lighting up the place. I clutch onto Warren’s arm. There are fake bats on the ceiling that swoop down every now and then, not even phasing me. Around every corner, something jumps out, causing me to jump once or twice. I think I’m more brave than Warren. I smiled as we continued. When we finally reach the exit, there’s something blocking the door. I don’t notice until Warren stops. “What is it?” “There’s something in front of us.” I see the clown standing in the doorway with a knife in its hand. “Babe?” “Don’t move.” Warren moves closer and it follows his every move. It lifts the knife in the air to pop the balloon. To my shock, Warren jumps. “Who are you?” The clown tilts its head slowly to the side. “I asked you a question!” As he walks up to the clown with his fists clenched, the clown screams and runs out the back door. “What was that? Were you going to attack the clown?” “He could’ve killed you, baby.” “There’s a clown at the door every year since I was little. It’s one of the jumpiest parts of the haunted house.” He looks at me with confusion written all over his face. “Why would they hire a clown to do that?” “Because it’s scary?” “Right.” He shakes his head and walks toward the exit. I watch with humor as he storms out the door. Warren Garcia is afraid of clowns. I ran to catch up with him. *Two hours later: “Come on, hurry up!” “We don’t have to run to every attraction, babe.” I head to our final destination of the night. It’s nearing one in the morning and most of the families are gone. “Where now?” “My favorite part.” “Which is?” I point to the Ferris Wheel. “This is your favorite, huh?” We reach the entrance and step into the cart, feeling it swing slightly from my weight. Warren steps in next and sits across from me. “This is amazing.” I said as the Ferris Wheel began to move. “I’m glad we came tonight.” “You had fun, then?” “Yes. This has been one of the best days I’ve had in years.” I smile at him. “I’m glad you came with me. I hope you had a little fun.” “It was.” “I mean, other than the clown.” “I wasn’t scared.” I raised my eyebrows and smirked. “Yeah, okay.” “Okay, you got me. I don’t like them. Never have.” “Can I ask you something?” “Anything.” “Do you love me?” I look at him when he doesn’t answer. “I was afraid to express my feelings that I indeed have feelings for you.” “Good.” “I love you.” “I love you, too baby.” He reaches forward to wrap his arms around me, and pulls me closer until my legs are around his waist. We’re both breathing heavily as our lips brush against one another. “I love you. I have since the beginning.” His fingers thread through my hair while his other hand holds me securely against him. Unable to hold back anymore, I kiss him. He lets out a low moan and tightens his hold on me. His lips are like electricity, sending shocks down my veins. I feel his tongue pressing against my lips, asking for entrance into my mouth, I eagerly agree and feel his tongue collide with mine. I moan at the sensation and pleasure, bringing my hips down against his lap. “I want to f**k you right here and right now.” He slips my clothing down, until my bare body is exposed. He unbuckles his pants, exposing his hard erection, allowing me to slowly slide in. He moaned as he kissed me, overtaken by the pleasure. Shortly after he senses I’m about to c*m, he picks up the pace until he finally cums inside me. *An hour later: As I lie in bed, his calm breathing next to me is the only sound in the room. I begin to think about the lunch conversation. My parents think money can solve my issues but if that man found me in the cabin and tried to kill us, I don’t think a fake I.D. is going to stop him. I frown to myself. There has to be a missing puzzle piece. I need to find out what it is. I should go home. Adam is the only one who would have it. Warren will never agree to this but I have no choice. I quietly sat up and grabbed sweatpants and a hoodie, and wrote a note to him and my family. I needed to do this. Please don’t come find me. I put it on the nightstand and made my way to the door and quietly turned the knob, still not waking Warren. As I quietly go down the steps, I go outside and grab my bike from the garage and head home.
