I'm sure no one is shocked. This is just how the real world worked, this college was part of the world, and already knowing how the game was played, I simply nodded.
“Good choice,” he said, leaning back. “I'll try to have the rumor quieted down for a bit.”
Before leaving, I asked him to give me a chance to pay for the damages on my own. I told him I’d get a job and cover the costs so my dad wouldn't get involved. To my surprise, he was actually kind enough to offer me a job right here at the college café.
