Just like any college, it’s never really quiet. There’s never a moment where everyone is just sitting in class, so as we walked out to the parking lot, students were everywhere. Even a couple of professors eyed us, their gaze landing straight on me with total disbelief.
Everyone had already questioned why Ryan was dating me in the first place, nobody thought a girl like me could pull potential billionaires or future NFL stars. So seeing me with Mateo now, especially after that Snap went viral, had them completely shocked.
Or maybe they were just stunned that I looked like a homeless puppy.
“Oh s**t,” I muttered, looking down at my clothes. I was wearing an oversized tee, the faded one I always threw on when drying my hair, and baggy sweatpants.
“Trust me, I’m looking way past the outfit,” Mateo said. He clearly thought it was a compliment, but he quickly took it back when I hit him with a death glare. “I mean… all I’m saying is, pants or no pants, you’re still fine as fuck... respectfully.”
“Oh my god,” I groaned, palming my forehead as I opened the passenger door. “Just drive and put the soft top up.”
Students were already pulling out their phones. Since his car was a convertible, the last thing I needed was videos of me riding shotgun with Mateo circulating on main. That would spark even more insane drama, especially when my boyfriend was already ready to skin me alive. I couldn't lose Ryan over this nonsense.
Mateo actually listened. He clicked the button to raise the roof before turning the ignition. And remember how he claimed to be a gentle driver? He wasn't lying. He didn't speed or weave through traffic like Ryan always did, which usually scared the hell out of me.
The whole drive over, Mateo was strangely chill, though he couldn't resist digging for details.
“So, I heard about the pool incident,” he said, shooting me a glance. “Ryan dumps you, and you immediately jump to his best friend? Aren't you worried they’re gonna throw hands?”
“Axel and I aren't dating,” I said flatly.
“So you guys just f****d then?”
“What? No!” I gasped. “We didn't!”
“Bro, the photos online—”
“Are fake! That’s literally why I’m going to his place, to ask him why the hell he posted that.”
Mateo paused, blinking at me. “Wait, so you and Axel really didn't sleep together?”
I raised an eyebrow, giving him a look that said ‘in what language do I need to explain this to you?’
“Whoa. So you’re saying I actually have a shot?” He smirked, tapping his fingers on the steering wheel.
I rolled my eyes hard, staring out the window. “Please just drive.”
Gosh, this whole thing was ridiculous. Just because people thought Axel banged me, suddenly I was the hottest girl on campus? And Axel rating me a ten… apparently that carried more importance in their little varsity world.
Ten minutes later, we pulled up to the Donovan mansion. God, I hated this place. I despised everything about it. There was a huge chance I’d bump into Vanessa or my dad, and honestly, they were the last two people on earth I wanted to face today. Well, second and third, right behind Axel. But I couldn't avoid Axel.
“Thank you,” I said as Mateo idling outside the grand iron gates.
“Anytime, Mia,” he grinned.
I stepped out, took a deep breath, and walked through the side gate after the guard buzzed me in.
My game plan was simple: tiptoe past the main foyer, find a housemaid, and ask where Axel was without alerting my father. If he saw me looking like this, hair damp, wearing sloppy clothes, running around on a school morning, he would lose his mind.
“Hi,” I whispered, motioning for one of the maids to step into the hallway. She smiled kindly, walking over to me. “Where’s Axel?” I asked in a low, hush tone.
“Don't worry, Ms. Mia. Mr. and Mrs. Donovan aren't home,” she reassured me softly.
I let out a massive sigh of relief. “Good. What about Axel?”
“Mr. Axel... well, Mr. Ryan actually just left. And I believe he looked... quite upset, to say the least.”
My stomach churned. Ryan was just here? Great.
I didn't waste another second. I bolted up the grand staircase, heading straight down the West wing toward Axel’s room.
“Axel!” I shouted, throwing his bedroom door open.
The room was empty. I gripped the doorframe, panic rising. I prayed to God those two didn't get into a physical fight over a fake post. Ryan was going to fail his midterms at this rate, and I swore to myself I wouldn't tutor him again even if Vanessa cried blood.
I’ve watched enough teen movies to know about bets, clout chasing, and locker room games. Technically, Axel and I didn't have s*x, so I hoped this wasn't some sick, twisted prank to ruin me.
“Axel!” I yelled again, stepping toward his private bathroom.
Before I could knock, the frosted glass door swung open, and he stepped out, instantly stealing every drop of air right out of my lungs.
He was wearing nothing. Just a white towel loosely hitched around his hips. His entire upper body was bare, drenched, and completely exposed.
And let me just describe this guy’s chest for you.
It was chiseled out of absolute granite. He had a few light, fading sports scars across his ribs that somehow made him look ridiculously masculine, doing weird things to my pulse.
His chest was broad, his shoulders cut, and water droplets trickled down over his defined pecks. And the abs… he didn't just have a six-pack, he had a legit eight-pack, even if the bottom two were barely low enough to see. I literally caught myself counting them in my head. And that V-line... God, that V-line dipped so dangerously low beneath the towel that I completely forgot why I was mad. I was practically salivating.
And then, as if my brain wasn't already scrambling to stay in reality, the towel slipped.
It didn't just loosen; it completely hit the floor.
And there it was. His c**k. Standing thick and heavy, the kind of size you only ever see in dark corners of the internet.
I almost lost my mind right then and there. It was freezing outside, but my entire body instantly went nuclear hot. I felt like I was standing over an open flame, my face burning, my knees going weak.
And then my eyes focused, and I saw it. A condom.
His d**k was wrapped in a latex sheath, it was so tight against his skin I hadn't even noticed it at first glance. And it was glistening, dripping with a slick, clear liquid that any girl would recognize in a heartbeat.
Oh, f**k. Did I just burst in right when he was f*****g? What the actual–?
