Inside Astor Residence

In a large duplex residence, plenty of rooms occupied its enormous size. Different kinds of cars were displayed in the garage just outside the front entrance door. This mansion belongs to the Astor Family. It features a luxurious and high-quality taste.
The lights in a particular room upstairs were beautiful shining as the large, exquisite, and grandiose chandelier was just turned on. It was getting darker as the sun just began its movement to rest after the hustle and bustle of the day. This room is divided by a purple portière into two sections. This first section of the room was designed and decorated with a turquoise teal decor, making the large room bright and vibrant.
The first section’s windows were large with luxurious drapes, offering a view of a manicured garden.
The presence of a large canopy bed with lavish bedding, plush carpets and mini rugs, and different kinds of exquisite artwork on the walls were seen.
A classic antique writing desk with a leather chair was beside the large bed, a fireplace with an ornate mantelpiece was visible in the other section of the room, and built-in gigantic wooden shelves filled with books were seen. The cozy aura and warm atmosphere would make reading enjoyable…
Of course, the room belonged and suited the taste of Sophie Astor.
Meanwhile, she was seen scrolling through YouTube, observing professional ballet dancers. She was getting fantasized by the new moves which are better with the level she’s operating on.

“Sophie, please open up. Me and your father would like to talk to you about something”. Mrs. Clara Astor explained to her daughter Sophie while standing patiently at the door with her husband, Mr. Feh Astor.
“Oh what again, what’s it”, Sophia grumbled before sluggishly moving to lie on her bed. She knew what they meant to discuss with her.
That’s the only issue her parents partnered together to talk about for the past few months.
Since her last cousin's sister who lives in Australia got married eight months ago, her parents haven’t reluctantly been on her case to marry as soon as possible.
“Sophie dear, this is about what we discussed last time. You said something about giving us positive feedback soonest”, Mr Feh. started.
As Sophie felt perturbed and grumbled in a loud tone, Mrs. Clara, her mother continued,” And we don’t want to hear that you forgot like last time, sweetheart. We are just longing for grandchildren and a better future for you”, Mrs Clara finished with her hankering.
After a few minutes of silence without any unheard words from their daughter, they continued with their discomfit.
“Your Father talked to his friends about your relationship status after the conference meeting they had yesterday, and many of their sons are still young bachelors who are very young and qualified to take good care of you. If you wouldn’t mind, your dad can put in a few words for you”.
“You can go on different dates with each of them to make a satisfactory and wise choice”, Mrs Clara said knowing how fussy her daughter can be.
They felt she was not seeing anyone currently because she had found a man who was qualified to tick all her boxes but they were completely wrong.
She’s still single because her concentration is on how she will get better at her ballet moves and become a famous star dancer.
She would give excuses to her parents each time they talked about her relationship status but she seems to be running out of them since she couldn’t say anything to defend herself today. Last time, she promised them to be optimistic and lied to them she has someone she’s currently seeing and doesn’t want to pressure her partner into thinking that she’s desperate.
But this has been weeks since they had last talked about this. At this moment, Mr and Mrs Astor couldn’t wait any longer. They had come this time expecting good news from her.
“Mom, Dad, don’t worry about me or my plans. I would be fine”. She finally said feeling positive that things would work out for her as she had been planning”.
“Sophie, you know we are no longer getting younger by the passing of each day. All we are seeing is at least the seriousness of your future husband. We don’t even know his name or seen his picture. Your mother said you haven’t been acting like someone in a relationship, no calls or no dates. We are just worried that you might regret it later”.
“Now is the best time to get married to a powerful and influential family like ours since you’re still in your prime. Beauty fades away with time and you should be on your toes as you’re the only young woman in the whole of the Astor family who hasn’t brought home a suitor”.
“Do you know what happened when we went to visit your uncle Goby his youngest daughter got married a few months ago. His wife has been swanking about how good and wealthy our Inlaw is”. Mr Feh paused for a while and took a heavy sigh before continuing.
“I knew they were indirectly showing off to get us embarrassed and agitated in front of the whole family” Mrs. Clara chipped in to help her husband.
Before they entered Sophia’s room, they had discussed and concluded that they wouldn’t back off if she didn’t give them a tangible excuse this time.
So her dad kept on pestering her with different reasons on why it’s appropriate to marry earlier but her mom didn’t say much. She was very careful with her words not to ruffle her precious daughter.
Sophie has been her mother’s daughter all while she has been growing up. As the only child of a rich family, she has been pampered and raised to get anything she wants.
Sophie, seeing how persuasive her parents were today, got a wonderful idea of how to escape from their scheme this evening.
