Chapter 12

Amber’s POV

It felt good to be waking up in my own bed after being in the hospital this past week, they wouldn’t let me go home straight away because of the infection I had from the influenza and the ligament pains I was getting due to the pregnancy so I had to endure the bad food and the nurse’s waking me up every couple of hours to check to see if my vitals were okay.

Adam stayed with me through out it all and refused to go home so the nurse’s made him up a bed beside me until my release yesterday, I still wasn’t sure how I felt about Adam’s confession to Toby about loving me.

Toby and I were no longer on speaking terms after what happened at the hospital it felt like a switch had gone off and he disappeared leaving behind someone I didn’t know.

It felt like somebody is watching me lately ever since I got home and I knew it had to be ridiculous because I was on the top floor and know one would be able to get to me I have camera’s and most of the time Adam is around but still I can’t shake that feeling of being watched maybe I’m just being paranoid after everything that’s happened.

As far as Amy has told me Toby went back to Mississippi for work, I was mad at my ex best friend even though I had allot of “what if’s” going through my head like what if I returned his feelings would it of happened and did I lead him on, I was just as mad at him as I was myself.

I got out of bed in only my panties and bra, I was hot last night And stripped off but I also hadn’t minded if a certain brown haired boy had walked in and caught me, standing in front of the floor length mirror I tied my red hair into a high Pony tail.

My eyes fell to the now yellowing bruises left on my body from where Toby had thrown me against the wall at the hospital, then to the light marks left on my neck from where he grabbed me, they were barely there now and no longer hurt sighing I quickly made work to cover them up with some concealer.

Once I was satisfied with my cover job looking down I couldn’t help but notice the small bump the was forming, I was finally starting to show and it didn’t seem real as it does right now, I ran my hand along the bare skin of my stomach soothingly I was mesmerised to feel to small growing little human inside of me.

Walking into my closet I pulled out a black pair of yoga pants with pockets so I had somewhere to put my phone and a grey hoodie since I would only be working from home today I needed the comfort of my lounge clothes opting for comfort and Adam wasn’t at home today because he was at University finishing his end of year exams so I knew I wouldn’t be interrupted while I worked for a while.

I sat in my office waiting for time to tick down while I made endless calls one after the other until my voice started to break from talking for endless hours I was ready to throw in the towel , a migraine felt like it was coming on so I knew it was time to quit for the day perks of being my own boss I guess.

I went to shut down my laptop but just as I was about to a loud ding noise came through the speakers a email from a unknown I.P address popped up on my computer, hesitating for a second hovering over the button to exit out of it I thought it might be just another spam message but Curiosity must of gotten the best of me because next thing I knew I was opening it and I wish I never had.

Big bold terrifying letters popped up on my screen and a picture from yesterday of Adam and I at the hospital when he was taking me home, in the photo Adam had his hand on my lower back helping me into his car after we had just shared a long passionate kiss my cheeks were flushed and my lips swollen from the heated make out session we had.

LEAVE THE MEATHEAD OR HE DIES PRINCESS TICK TOCK DON’T KEEP DADDY WAITING.

I swallowed hard my breathing started to increase and I felt like I could feel my heart beating out of my chest loudly, I looked down at my now paling fingertips I hadn’t realised I was holding onto the table so tightly my fingers felt like they were going to drop off so I released my hold slowly feeling the blood slowly returning to my hands.

I use to get panic attacks more frequently growing up after my parents passed but thankfully I regained my life back when Shirley had convinced me to see a therapist and I didn’t get them as much anymore and I knew how to help my self when they did rear there ugly head.

I counted back from ten remembering to remind myself to breathe in and out as I went, trying to put the message as far from my thoughts as possible to lock it in the back of my mind where I won’t have to think about it for now and until I could once again think straight.

I dialled my friend Arthur who was a private investigator and asked him if he could look into finding out who the mysterious sender was and he promised me he would get back to me as soon as he knew something I hung up the phone letting out a frustrated sigh .

Just when I thought I could try and relax their was a aloud knock at the office door my reaction was to reach for the colt 45 I kept in my top desk drawer but thinking against it, “come in” I yelled to the person on the other side of the door that door that stayed as a barrier keeping me from seeing the person on the other side I held onto the drawer handle just in case they were here to come and get me I didn’t trust the person in the email I needed Arthur to work quickly I couldn’t risk Adam’s life.

Adam walked into the room and once again I felt the air leave my lungs but this time out of relief, he strode into the room with a smile on his face that could melt a million hearts and I was not the exception for falling for his charms, he was wearing the tight denim jeans that I liked how it showed off his perfect butt and I knew if he turned around right now I could get a glimpse of that little piece of heaven just thinking about it made my mouth water.

He must of noticed me trying to devour him with my eyes because when I looked up he was giving me his trade mark smirk and I felt my self flood my panties with desire hell if he hadn’t already knocked me up I’d let him do it all again.

“ see something you like princess.” He said smirking at me and I rolled my eyes blushing trying so hard to play if off like I wasn’t just trying to rape him with my eyes.

“ I was thinking about watching a movie if you want to join?” he must of thought I’d say no because he seemed a little nervous so I thought I’d tease him a little for fun.

“ I don’t know I have a lot of work still to do .” his beautiful face fell into a frown and I felt a little guilty for teasing him. “ what movie are we watching?” I chucked the “we” in hoping he would catch on and he did because the frown he was supporting on his face turned into a mega Walt smile that made my legs go wobbly and I gripped onto my desk to stop myself from falling over.

“ Well I can’t decide between rush hour and 21 jump street so I was hoping you would decide.” I raised my eye brow at him I was shocked I hadn’t met alot of people who liked the same kind of movies as I did.

“Channing Tatum all the way.” I wiggled my eyebrows suggestively letting out a slow loud moan and he growled under his breath and headed out of the room muttering to himself. “Great now I have to compete with magic Mike too.” I giggled to myself and went for a nice soothing long shower to get rid of some of the tension that built up, the message was still on repeat in my mind.

I had no idea who would want me to stop seeing Adam since we weren’t even together, I needed to warn him it was only fair he knew so with new found determination I got out of the shower and got dressed ready to find the hunk of a man I call my roommate.

I chucked on a pair of low cut booty shorts and a red tank top, once I was satisfied with the way I looked I went on a mission to find prince charming, walking into the lounge room I was caught off guard spotting a very shirtless Adam hunched over the sink scrubbing a red stain from his white V-neck shirt he was wearing before I went for my shower I couldn’t help but let out a giggle covering my hand with my mouth so it couldn’t be heard once I’d composed myself and put my hands on my hips.

“Do you want some help with that?” I said softly gesturing to the shirt within his hands that now looked worse off then when he started and he jumped dropping it in the sink.

“ no it’s all good it’s ruined, you ready to watch the movie princess?” he tossed the shirt in the bin and I rolled my eyes at him deciding to let the conversation go, who was I to change the mind of a stubborn man once his set his mind on something.

I suddenly remembered why I was looking for him before I knowingly got distracted but as I went to open my mouth the door bell rang and the Chinese take out that Adam ordered for dinner was here.

“ I guess it will have to wait” I muttered under my breath.

I sat down on the corner of the lounge and covering my legs with a fluffy pink blanket that was draped over the lounge from behind where I was sitting, I opened up Netflix on 21 jump street and pressed pause until Adam came in with the food handing me mine and sitting next to me taking some of the blanket that was covering me, he placed a hand on my upper thigh his thumb gently drawing circles on my leg making me shiver with ecstasy all over.

“ play the movie baby.” He murmured in my ear huskily and I held my breath and when I remembered I needed to breathe I let out a long gasp of air playing the movie while we ate our low chow Mein.

I couldn’t concentrate on the movie my eyes kept going to his lips and I couldn’t stop thinking about how they felt pressed against mine I licked my bottom lip and squirmed in my seat clenching my legs together tightly, I turned back towards the movie willing my mind to listen to me and I was doing fine until Adam placed his arm behind my head pulling me closer towards him.

His smell washed over me and I felt my self leaning into his touch, the thought of kissing his neck just below his ear started to cloud my thoughts and before I knew what I was doing I had climbed on his lap straddling him with my legs wanting him to feel my growing need I had for him.

He placed his large hands on my lower waist slowly sliding them up my body under my shirt just below my lace bra his thumb gently rubbing the material that was a barrier between us.

He placed my arms above my head and slid my shirt right off my body leaving me exposed in just my lace bra and booty shorts, he slowly began to kiss my neck with passion each kiss sending a shiver through my body sliding the straps of my bra down my arms my breasts bounced out of its confinement with eagerness as his hand traced along my tender breasts until he reached my swollen bud rolling it with his fingertips while I let out a hungry moan his name leaving my lips with impending excitement that was yet to come.

Looking into his innocent eyes I knew I had to tell him about the letter before we went to far he deserved that much. “Adam stop please I need to tell you something baby.” I said with all of my courage “ he deserves to know but he feels so good” I thought to myself.

“ Mmm what is it princess.” He nipped at my neck and I unconsciously grinded myself against his hardening length that was now pressing against me, he let out a deep groan of approval and I scolded myself trying to force myself to focus.

“Adam” I tried again but this time he ran his hand along my thigh I lost all of my focus and couldn’t remember what was so important that I needed to tell him I could only remember that I wanted him and the feeling of the man beneath me.

He pushed my shorts and panties to the side gliding his two fingers inside of me slowly until he was deep I felt like he had filled me only his fingers I clenched around him riding them until I was dripping all over him, he brought his thumb to my little bud rubbing it slowly looking deep into my eyes.

I was so close now it hurt I needed to feel my release “Adam please “ I whimpered out.

“Tell me what you need baby” he said huskily kissing my neck demanding I release my control over to him.

“ make me come I need you” I moaned leaning my head into him bucking my hips, he curved his fingers hitting my sweet spot and I felt a explosion erupt from my body until I was a quivering mess before him he pulled his fingers out of me and slid them into his mouth.

“ mmm princess you taste amazing” he pulled me against himself cradling me against him kissing me on the forehead.

“ Adam I really need to tell you something.” This time I said more sternly then before I wasn’t going to let him distract me anymore.

“ok princess you have my attention now what’s going on?” he grabbed me pulling me closer towards him and I could hear his heart beat escalate with worry.

“ earlier when I was working in my office I got a message from a unknown person telling me to leave you or they’d kill you, I contacted my friend who’s a private investigator to look into it but Adam I’m really worried they will follow through we need to cool it for a bit until I find out who it is and what they want, I won’t risk your life.” I got up off his lap spotting my shirt on the ground and picking it up to put it on.

“ Amber I won’t let that happen no one will ever take me away from you both I promise.” He pulled me back against him but I pushed him away again walking down the hallway to my room.

“I won’t risk the life of the man I love I can’t I won’t survive another heartache” I murmured to myself before I shut my door to lock it so he wouldn’t try and come change my mind.
