Beginning's
For a Sunday in March, it is still seemingly quite warm in the quaint village of Port Arthur, chilly morning turning to warm by midmorning/early afternoon, Chloe standing tall, arms crossed against her chest, on top of what should or may possibly still have been an old dockyard, Chloe remembered from one of her many tours, standing in front of the commanders house adjacent to the dock yards, "Only those convicts deemed well-behaved and receptive to training were allowed to work at the dockyard. Up to 70 convicts were employed at the yard at its height, with the majority engaged in the menial task of cutting and carrying timber. The remaining convicts were the carpenters, blacksmiths, caulkers, coopers and shipwrights who actually built the vessels" The tour guide had stated, the tour guide for that day was Alicia she was the best, her bone chilling ghost stories she would tell. Chloe shaking her head thinking what a sight it would have been the dock yards full and busy, part of her felt sorry for some of those so called convicts, some only stole bread to feed their family just to end up here in slave labour... all the while Chloe remained gazing out to towards the great ocean, watching carefully for the great schooner on her way in for the festival. Port Arthur is a gorgeous old town, with some remnants of the time before, several houses still stood in this historic town, with mere empty broken shells left to what was. Chloe loved visiting the old settlement, it felt oddly familiar to her, Port Arthur in its day was a British built colony holding and housing colonial convicts, boasting many house's, a large church and several purpose built jail's to hold the worst of the worst criminals of its time. Port Arthur’s Asylum was built next to the Separate Prison at the southern extremity of the site. Built to a classic cruciform shape, the wings were occupied by dormitories around a central mess hall. The building was flanked by two ‘L’ shaped buildings comprising a Keepers’ quarters and a bakehouse. To the rear was a long wooden building which served as separate apartments for the Asylum’s more rowdy occupants. The front of the Asylum was trimmed with an open verandah, which fronted onto a large fenced garden replete with paths and ornamental plantings. To this day can still be seen, as if untouched, you can even go inside the asylum and see how they lived. Each time Chloe visited taking in more and more of the atmosphere, she travelled down early Thursday morning, so she could enjoy spending time looking, taking pictures (yet again, as she loved to find shadowy figures and orbs in her photograph's, it was the highlight going back and comparing pictures she had taken). As tomorrow was the festival, boy oh boy did she love the festival!, Port Arthur came alive during the festival although the sad remnants were still there, there was possibility of life and what it may have been, the black Smith's were doing there thing, there was a bakery that actually opened and was operational during this time, an area was set up for games such as skipping, cat's cradle and hopscotch which were far more popular with female population, while marbles, conkers and British Bulldog were the favoured activities for boys. Hide and seek, and a maze was set for those more adventurous. Chloe seemed to always watched in awe in how they operated, how much hard work that would have been put in, watching the jeweller with his oxyacetylene torch, that could reach the temperatures necessary to work with platinum, gold and heaven forbid silver, the torch allowed jewelry to be made solely from platinum to make special pieces. The strength of platinum was fully exploited and it became possible to create jewels that resembled “petit point” embroidery and fine, delicate, sophisticated jewels resembling diamond encrusted lace. This strength and rigidity allowed the jeweller to mount stones in minimalist settings. Chloe carried a piece around her neck that was her great great grandmother's she wore with pride, it was made right here in Port Arthur, Chloe's piece was a Pentagram Necklace With Cubic Zirconia stones, tiny intricate designs next to each point, one each for the elements and the bottom a moon and a wolf. The festival often saw people come dressed up in convict clothes, the men often wore suits with tail coats to which they adorned top hats whilst the women wore gorgeous dresses that would define the waist, high necked and had a voluminous skirt, with petticoat and hoop to align, Chloe was not a fan of the corset, although she still wore it, her's was blood red, with traces of black lace along the bodice with black lace sleeve's, jet black skirt and her hat matched perfectly, as you could not see her feet she would wear her favourite Ariat cow girl boots. As she stood there watching as the large schooner approached... Chloe was hoping to make it aboard during the festival, sighing aloud she always wondered why she felt as though she was born in the wrong era.. The massive schooner was approaching slowly to the dock with more grace than an angel, Chloe loved the colonial times and this large vessel she imagined in her day would have been magnificent... During the mid-1830s, the colony of Van Diemen's Land (now known as Tasmania) constructed and operated the armed schooner Eliza. The vessel was built at Port Arthur and was operated by the Convict Marine Service, carrying out anti-piracy patrols as well as helping to maintain the security of the penal settlement. Chloe could imagine her self as one like the men, on this vessel patrolling for convicts escaping and pirate control, she smiled with glee. Chloe like most supernatural's could sense when someone was approaching her, c*****g her head to the side she become aware it was another witch, her cousin Nicole to be precise. Nicole, is one of those blonde blue eyed beauty's 5'6 obviously with a gorgeous figure, who liked to flick her hair and laugh was contagious, and yes she loved the men and the men always loved her, Nicole's Twin Becca was slightly taller with a little more curves, and her eyes always sparkled, the two girls were like Ying to yang. Chloe on the other hand, 5'5 with killer curves, massive E cup (yes I know, SMH, also natural), brunette with a tinge of natural highlights, with green eyes. The Festival always bought in, werewolves, vampires, witches, and yes the human's too.. most of the younger adults seeking mate's where as the older generation's come just for general catch up with friends and families alike, Chloe has not long turned 18 has been waiting for this weekend in particular, the blood moon this long weekend will heighten their senses for finding mates. The elders to the supernatural world relished in what was, with some of them apart of the original settlement back in the 1830's, Witche's, werewolve's and vampire's alike can live for many years!, with vampire's can be centuries, wolves and witches can be merely a few hundred years. Nicole "ahh dear Chloe, I knew I would find you here poss" Chloe simply's look's back and smiles "It is my favourite place dear cousin of mine" Nicole carefully watches her, smiles at her dear cousin "come Becca has a surprise waiting for us" Ever since Chloe was young she lived and grew up with the twins, the twins mum and Chloe's dad had been sister's after all, Chloe was pretty much the girls quadruplet, it was only the hair, eyes that made the difference, Chloe's parent's tragically died in a car accident when she was a baby. Chloe was saved, no one knows how nor who, but she was found alive at the accident, crying on the edge of the bridge. **It was early February, and strangely enough was a dark and foggy evening, the sleek SUV just entered to cross the single lane bridge, it was hard to see, the lights were soo bright from the oncoming truck, The driver could not see, blinded by the lights they lost control of the car and ploughed into an oncoming truck, it flipped over the single lane bridge resting half on the bank with the rest in knee high water finally taking its resting place against a large old oak tree. the truck had jackknifed, spilling its load over the road, unfortunately the only survivor was Chloe**. One thing Becca could do was throw a party!! Typical Becca had been busy organising a bonfire for that evening down on the beach 2klm or so away from the settlement, gorgeous white sands meeting clear blue ocean, with small waves, several villas sat on the top side to the beach but unseen to the settlement. Chloe's villa was next to Nicole's and Becca's villa over seeing the clear blue ocean, Each villa 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, each made to look old but all brand new. Most of the other adults were on the other side to the settlement leaving the younger adults to have their fun. General Friday afternoon bash, bonfire ready to go, seats, beanbags, logs to sit on, intricately decorated table ready for some delicious goods mainly pizza (also to soak up the alcohol).. rule to drinking... always always have food!, I also know what your thinking, another underage party with drinking... nope your wrong! in Australia the legal age is 18... Becca had organised a band, the stage was already set, speakers surrounding the make shift dance floor, the band was on the sound check, wowee you could here the soundcheck quite loudly, Becca had gracefully placed fairy lights around the whole entire area with some draping down with vines between, my gosh Becca had gone to some trouble planning this get together, and the decorating was out of this world, it was enough to entrance anyone who entered. Although one of Becca's powers was to click her fingers and conjure, most witches could conjure especially those with royal bloodlines. All Becca has to do is double click her fingers and it was put in its rightful place. Nicole on the other hand was still practicing how to conjure, but being an earth witch she could wave her hand in her own little way whilst reciting her incantations she was able to grow/bring back to life most plant's or tree's, it truly was an amazing sight, she revelled in her witchcraft. Nicole loved to grow roses and cherubs. Chloe was different, she carried all 4 elements, earth, air, fire and water, it was rare to the witching world, but not unseen. What quite often makes me laugh is people often see witches as women who are thought to have magic powers, especially evil ones, popularly depicted as wearing a black cloak and pointed hat and flying on a broomstick, rarely ever are we evil, nor do we ride a broomstick, they're merely Halloween fairy tales, as for the rumours of our powers are now that is correct. The girls belong to the Crystal Grove coven, one of the oldest most powerful coven's in the state, mainly for the truth seekers, some can see the future, a few have the ability to freeze time, and it has been heard of that they can time travel but has been centuries since one has been in the coven, they say they can enchant, conjure and even heal, some of these powers are rare. Chloe rarely use's her powers in public but practiced as much as she could, she has the ability to heal, she accidentally found this out after watching a car hit a baby kangaroo, she stopped to help it, Chloe picked up the bundle of fur, rubbed it's little head gently as she started to whisper chants willing the little roo to live, her hands started to glow and within a few minutes the little guy was thankfully fine, it took a little out of her as she had forgotten to eat but the joy it gave her to bring back life had her giddy with glee leaving her well in contempt. Chloe was also able to seek the truth, but need to practice this more, her control of the elements bought a pleasant surprise, but to what makes Chloe truly unique.. is after turning 18 last December Chloe had a secret she was dying not to tell... she feared what the other coven members would say, especially her adopted mother and father. Chloe was indeed special, it was mid December the first night she felt every single bone in her body break.. along with her sense of smell had heightened dramatically too, she had become a wolf, she carried gorgeous white with silver specks through her coat, piercing green eyes, with silver ears and feet, if you looked much closely you would swear she wore a pentagram on forehead as the moonlight sparkled her fur, she was a large wolf standing close to 6ft tall, slightly taller than the average she wolf. In many werewolf stories, a person only turns into a wolf when there’s a full moon and that theory may not be far-fetched, but truth be told, you turn on the first full moon after your 18th birthday, after that you can turn at will as needed. Chloe has turned a number of times as running down along the river bank was quite calming for her. As the afternoon was drawing nearer, Chloe decided she should draw a bath, use her royal essence bath fizzy, cold Gordon's pink gin bottle and layed back to relax before the late afternoon celebrations were to be had, dreaming of the enticing smell that sent tingle's throughout her entire body when the wolves turned up earlier. Chloe, Becca and Nicole got ready together, having pre drinks and delicious cheese platter in Chloe's villa, Becca was wearing a gorgeous white play suit, and Nicole wearing a similar black play suit.. "I used to like a bright-red lip with nothing else, but now I think it ages me. Instead, I'll do a brown eye shadow on just my lids and a few coats of Lancôme Ôscillation mascara. I'll dust a little Nars Blush in Desire on my cheeks, a little gloss so it doesn't smear and that's it." Becca states with a cheeky laugh, Nicole replies "If I'm wearing makeup, I don't do a thing to my hair!! the messier, the better. I'll either wear it straight down or pull it into a twisty knot with a pretty hair scrunchie. I really like how it falls." To be honest Chloe wasn't actually real keen on make up altogether, she adorned a more natural look, hair either out or in a neat ponytail. Chloe pours all 3 girls a shot of vodka, passes each a slice of lemon and puts salt in the middle of the counter... "bottoms up ladies, here's to a fantastic night of love fun and laughter". All 3 downed their shot. Knock knock knock ugghh it was Eliza, Becca's best friend, she was one of those girls who does her make up bright orange, one would say it was as though she was a starving model, who had sneakily opened up a packet of Doritos and rubbed it around her face as she messily scoffed in the chips, ha ha Chloe tried not to laugh at such thoughts. "eeee Eliza!!!! we have to go, the hostess with the mostest greets her guests, we have to run" she squealed excitedly. "love you girls, Il see you soon" she yells as she exited the villa, "Il go too poss, you right to come down by your self?" "Il be fine Nicole, go have fun, Il see you shortly" Chloe replies. Chloe really wanted to re check her make up, a little eyeliner was needed and a dash of mascara, mostly natural, another good look in the mirror was needed before heading down to the party. Smiling at her self in the mirror she wondered if she would meet her mate, or just find someone in general at the gathering.. with one last twirl she was ready.
