Her body was changing over the past few weeks and she knew it. Even if for the first few weeks, she didn't want to accept it because she was afraid of what she meant, her mother had noticed the changes and brought her before the Alpha King.
Yes, she had been returned to her family after spending more time with Alec. She was sad to watch him leave but she did miss her family.
She was pregnant, her mother was sure about it.
“She's pregnant?" Alec rose from his chair and her mother nodded.
“You're pregnant?" He walked up to Lena and as soon as she nodded, he picked her up and spun her around, wearing the widest smile that he could muster.
“Thank you, thank you so much." He closed his eyes to live in the moment.
He didn't have to spread the word. News traveled swiftly across the entire pack- the Omega was pregnant for the Alpha. Most people were happy, those who had the packs best interest at heart and the Elders came to see Alex to congratulate him.
“How did you find out?" He asked them.
“Good news travels fast."
They all laughed. For the first time in a very long time, Alec felt peace, the kind you feel when everything has been taken care of. He would be able to finally lie in bed and sleep and not be awake all night thinking about how doomed he was.
He still couldn't believe it. Deep down, he kept thinking if Lena had gone elsewhere and got pregnant just in a bid to deceive him because she knew how desperate he was but then he killed the thought.
She didn't look like the kind that would do such a thing. Heck, she hasn't even been with anyone before him. He gave instructions for preparations for a feast.

The news got to Mala as well. At first, she thought the maids were just joking around with their useless and baseless gossip which they usually did to gain her favor.
“It's true, Luna. I saw the Alpha pick her up and pin her around in his arms and he kept saying thank you." One of them chipped in.
That was when she believed them. That was something Alec did when he was very happy. She rose up at once and began pacing.
If that filthy pig was pregnant, then that meant she couldn't sit back and relax because it would just be her chance to take Mala's place in Alec's life.
As if that thought wasn't enough, one of the maids spoke up.
“Luna, some of the people are already saying that she is the true Queen and that was why she was able to get pregnant. They think the Alpha would name her as Luna."
“Shut up, all of you. Get out, now!"
As they all sauntered out, she thought about the new threat in her life. Mala knew how desperate Alex was for a child. Sometimes, she felt pity seeing him stand at the window and think at night when he thought she was asleep. The eye bags around his eyes were a dead give away.
She had been there for him through everything and she stayed with him through it all. It wasn't easy for her to watch him go out and bring back loads of girls only for him to pick one and take to bed. It always broke her heart and her wolf but she had no choice.
So she doubted it. She doubted Alec would treat her that way. He doubted he'd forget her sacrifices for him and dump her for a mere omega just because she's pregnant for him. After all, she was an Omega and he wasn't allowed to marry an Omega since he's an Alpha.
Yeah, that was it. She went back to her chair and had a sip of tea.

As soon as she left Alec, she was dragged back to a room by maids who wasted no time in removing every piece of clothing from her body. They were more careful this time though and the way they caressed her skin, almost made her fall asleep.
She was submerged in water, the bubbling bath being the perfect relaxation her feet needed. She has left her parents to discuss with Alec and as she climbed out of the bath, she wondered what they had spoken about.
Her hair was made in a very beautiful hairdo and it reminded her of her mother. Somehow, the tailor had known her exact size and the jade gown that was placed on her clung to her body as though it had been sewn on her.
Lena looked at herself in the mirror and she almost didn't recognize what she saw. Her skin was fair, it was like she was glowing but she didn't want to sound vain.
She smelled good, like lavender, her favorite flower.
The door opened and Alec came in, making the maids quickly leave the room. She didn't lift her head up even when it was just the both of them left in the room.
She couldn't. The last time she had been alone in the room with him, she had gotten pregnant. Also, she was shy and even she couldn't deny it.
“You look beautiful. I mean, you've always looked beautiful but with my baby in you, you look extraordinarily elegant."
The words poured out of his mouth as if he had been rehearsing them for a while.
“Thank you. " She said quietly “Where are we going?"
“The Elders want to meet you. They want to see the angel that's carrying my angel."
Lena laughed and shook her head.
“How do you know it's a girl?"
Alec frowned and then c****d his head to the side.
“A boy can be an angel as well."
“Not exactly."
He took hold of her hand and led her out of the room. She didn't miss the way her stomach flipped and she felt jittery all around.
“For example, I'm an angel."
She looked at the back of his head as he led her down the stairs. She had a wrong impression of him. Alec was a good man who just wanted peace. And she was happy she had been able to give it to him. His peace was her peace and even though she denied it, she knew what it meant. She had begun falling for him.
“Angel, my ass." She whispered under her breath.
“I heard that." He said without turning back.
