Meeting a Prince
♤♤♤ *Gianna Alastair* What I hated more than burnt toast was being defeated. Having to bend to my opponent's will was something I dreaded more than losing my own life. And right now, I'm sitting in a five-star restaurant waiting on my fiancé's stand-in. I swore to kill Alessia when I got back. And I'll carve out those teeth she used to grin at me after I lost to her. I already hate the fact that I look exactly like her, now I have to pretend to be her for an hour? I'm going to die. I glanced at my phone and realized I've been waiting for more than 10 minutes, and this so-called prince's bodyguard wasn't here yet. Why does everyone attached to Alessia Alastair have to be such a stuck-up ass... and I mean including my parents. I was beginning to love the fact that she would finally get married and get the f**k out of my life, but then she decided to play stupid just the day I had an important event. I am furious. The restaurant was completely empty, and the staff all stood watching me like I had already been crowned queen. They were all on edge as if something was about to go down. I was beginning to feel uncomfortable when the bell chimed and two figures walked in. My first instinct was to grab my safety knife strapped to my thigh and throw it at the first person I saw, but I changed my mind when I remembered Alessia's threat. _He's going to send his bodyguard, but even with that, we can all end up dead if you act like yourself..._ I rolled my eyes. Even her voice disgusts me. I wonder how we ended up twins when I spent half my life resisting the urge to murder her. I knew how many times I'd been tempted to strangle her in her sleep. Or poison her smoothie. I felt the air shift. I looked up and saw the two guys walking over to my table. Must be the bodyguard. But why were they two? It's a shame that the prince didn't care enough to show up for his future wife, but I couldn't care less so I rolled my eyes and scoffed at the man towering over me like I owed him my kidney. "Took you 15 minutes to get here. How rude," I said, leaning back in my seat and crossing my arms. The taller guy raised his brow as he sat, while the other one gave me a questioning look. I tried to interpret the body language, but the last time I did, it almost killed me. "I apologize for keeping you waiting," the taller guy said, and I rolled my eyes. "Let's get this over with," I sighed. "So what does your prince want to know about his bride?" I smiled sweetly, a way I knew Alessia would. I had no choice. He stared at me blankly. It was almost like I was saying rubbish. I immediately thought of my earlier plan of stabbing him with my safety knife. Maybe instead of Alessia's teeth, I'll remove his eyes. "What?" I snapped when he kept staring. Isn't that disrespect? Especially when I am about to be the crowned princess of Eldoria. He should reply when I ask questions. "Maybe if you were more patient, you wouldn't have coffee on your dress," he finally said. He spoke so calmly that it made me feel more annoyed than I already was. Instinctively, I stared down at Alessia's pink flowery gown, which was nothing like my style. There was a stain, but it was barely noticeable. I glared at him, and he just turned to the other guy — who had been standing like a rock all this time — and said something that wasn't English. I strained my ears to listen, but all I heard was a bunch of foreign words. He finally looked at me, his face expressionless. "I'm Axel Bernadotte. We haven't met yet, but I think you're mistaking me for someone else," He stated, his tone accusing. "Mistaking you for who-".I started. Hold on a second... Isn't Axel Bernadotte the name of Alessia's fiancée crowned prince of Eldoria? I stare at the stone-faced guy sitting in front of me with a calm yet alarming demeanour, I dropped my arm. "Your highness?" He sighed softly. "I only have 10 minutes to spare, so let's make this fast." That sly b***h. Did she set me up with the prince himself and lie? That can't be. Alessia would never want me to meet her future husband since she considers me a threat after Sebastian chose me over her. It was a great experience, only that Sebastian was nothing like my type. So maybe she doesn't know the prince himself would show. But why is he speaking to me like I am forcing myself on him? I'm not Alessia. The thought of it made me scoff. He raised his brow again, probably amused by my behaviour. The point is, I would do anything to ruin Alessia's good stuff. That's why I'm the bad twin. So, the thought of pissing the Royal prince was so tempting I'm actually salivating. "You didn't show up yesterday. Why show up today?" I asked, folding my arms _again_. "I don't answer to you," He said coldly like I had offended him before. I really thought he and Alessia would make a wonderful couple. But I'll ruin it still... "Yeah?" I nodded. "I'll leave first then. Next time, don't waste your time meeting me if you're going to be a jackass." I said, standing up. "Don't walk out on me." His voice came with a deadly glare. I guess people cowered away at the sight, but I loved it. "Oh, Your Majesty. Watch me." I have no idea if he noticed the sarcasm in my voice, but he looked more disgusted than amused. I headed towards exit while the staff looked at me like I'd killed a polar bear. "We can call off the wedding. Your call," His voice cut through the brewing silence. I stopped, a smile creeping onto my face. "I don't like to play pretend," He added. I turned around, placing both palms on my chest dramatically. "Bummer. I love that game." I could almost feel his anger. He stood up slowly and took slow, precise steps towards me. I crossed my arms, giving him daring eyes. "I'll run you mad." He said in a low voice. he stood a few paces away from me, and I could see his face properly. He looked so attractive for Alessia's husband. Way taller than I was, especially now that I was wearing Alessia's boring wedge heels. "I am mad, your highness." Which was true. My parents said that lots of times and I believed them. He didn't look pleased, which just made me smile. I suddenly felt disgusted by my choice of lipstick today. Light pink and innocent. It didn't make my smile taunting enough. The prince's eyes bored into mine. His light blue eyes doing the opposite of his expressions. "So you want to marry me?" I shrugged. "Maybe." "I need a direct answer, woman," He snapped, and I couldn't help but grin. He must be so annoyed. "I don't have one. Next time we meet, we'll talk properly. Right now..." I trailed off and turned around again. "Alessia Santiago." It irked me. The sound of her name on his lips made me want to jump into a sea with no sharks. I didn't turn. I don't need to because he rounded me like I'm a piece of art. "I didn't know you remembered my name. How sweet." He ignored my remark as he studied my face. "You're different from what I was told." I looked up at him and chuckled. "What have you heard, my future King?" I asked in sarcasm mixed with annoyance. "Quiet, obedient, and innocent." He said blankly. I rolled my eyes. Of course, that's Alessia. "So?" "You right here? Noisy, annoying, arrogant, and disrespectful to me. That's a crime." "Wait until I show more traits. It's an amazing sight," I smirked. He gave no expression away. I was beginning to wonder if he was human and not a robot. "Like I said," He continued with a brief exhale. "We can stop this wedding from happening." "First of all, there's no we in anything. And I definitely want to marry you. I'm in love with you, in fact." I breathed, trying to stop the smile that threatened to pull on my face. His eyes blazed. I guess I was unbearable. "I've wasted enough time with you. You're not worth it." His voice was low, and I could feel anger oozing out of him. "Whatever," I smiled, making my way out. "Send word that I have no interest in Alessia Santiago." His voice came. And sensing how distant it sounded, I knew the words weren't meant for me. I twirled around with wide eyes. "You can't just do that." I knew he can. But I can't let that happen, or I'll just be disowned. I just wanted to piss him off a bit. He ignored me totally as his supposed bodyguard started making a call. Before I can process anything... Gianna took over. I slipped off a leg of the annoying wedge heel, throwing it swiftly towards the bodyguard's arm. I was immediately proud when the phone fell, catching him off guard. The prince stared at me with an expression I really couldn't pinpoint. Maybe instant hatred? "Let's be civil," I smiled. "You are not Alessia," He said flatly. "Oh, yeah? Tell me more, Sherlock," I glared irritated at his tone. No one in the royal family knew Alessia's a twin. While I was a social media freak who was found all over the Internet, Alessia was the nerdy girl who somehow found her prince charming. His jaw clenched, and nothing made me happier than the fact that he was annoyed. He took slow steps towards me, stopping a few steps away like before. "Who are you?" It was more of a demand than a question. One I had no plans of answering. Instead, I gave him a sweet smile and walked closer to him, close enough to stay eye-level with his rigid chest. He went tense immediately, and I knew he hated it, which was good. I tilted my head so I could stare into cold ocean blue eyes. "What do you mean?" I asked in a low, innocent voice. "I am your fiancé." He stepped back, and I went with him. His eyes were livid. It was such a wonderful sight. "Stay away." He gritted. I grinned, placing my palms on his chest. "Your Highness, I am on my period, so my moodswings are called for. So forgive this loyal servant." The sarcasm that dripped from my voice deserved a Grammy, but he simply tore my palms away from his chest, looking disgusted. I almost thought he would order his bodyguard to kill me, but he surprised me as he turned and walked out of the restaurant with his lapdog following him behind, not without glancing at me with amusement in his eyes. "Oopsie, seems I made Prince Charming furious." I smirked. I was no longer in a bad mood. In fact, my mood just got lit. And I can't wait to see the look on Alessia's face when the prince calls off the wedding. I'll blame it on her foolishness. Shoving on my weapon of a heels, I bounced excitedly out of the restaurant in time to see lots of cars leaving. I immediately texted my buddies. Gia: I just made Alessia sad and Gianna happy. Who's up for a party? A reply came in immediately. Trevor: What did you do now??? I chuckled. "Even death can't scare this happiness away." I muttered, walking towards Alessia's boring pink Mercedes.
