28 The days grew wild in Claire’s little slice of Heaven. Moments of idiotic foolishness were mixed alongside times of pure wisdom, clarity and insight. For so many years Claire had spent her life wandering, not physically, but mentally. Simply wandering from job to job, situation to situation, with no real purpose and no real sense of being. For example, she thought her old job as a barista in Chicago would just be for a few months until she got back on her feet again. Bills and an overpriced city life had weighed on her finances. A few months had eventually turned into years. Of course, she loved her co-workers and really enjoyed making connections with her customers, all while making their favorite frothy drinks. She was an ace barista, truly skilled. Her mind was wandering, again.
