Leo’s POV The first thing I felt was the cold. It was sharp and biting, pressing against my skin like an unwelcome guest. My head throbbed with a dull ache that seemed to echo every time I breathed. I tried to move, but my arms felt like lead, heavy and uncooperative. When I finally blinked my eyes open, the room around me swam into focus. It wasn’t familiar. The walls were gray, bare, and unforgiving, and the air smelled strange—metallic and sharp, like blood and something bitter. I was lying on a narrow bed, a thin blanket draped over me, though it did little to stave off the cold. Everything about the room felt wrong, and the more I tried to orient myself, the harder it became to breathe. Where was I? How had I gotten here?
