I managed to sleep for a few hours after that. And then I woke up to a text from Maeve. Busy all weekend but wanted to say we should maybe see other people. * * * * My brain felt like it was full of bees. All my anxieties about social interaction in general ramped themselves up to eleven the instant I read that message, but any small, niggling little paranoia I’d ever felt about Maeve went through the damn roof and exploded my head.
