Immediately I walked out of the dining room, then I was met by a girl.
"This way miss." Her voice was so cold and lifeless and I squirmed in discomfort she made me feel like I've offended her before. I sighed internally.
I guess my plans of making friends here would be on hold for now.
We walked opposite where I came in and I smiled at the light in this part of the palace.
I watched the girl in front of me, she barely made a sound, and she walked like a controlled puppet, her skin was so pale that I could see the lines of her veins.
Her black curly hair swung sideways on her ponytail. She looked human but behaved lifelessly, I noticed she breathed once every minute sometimes she breathed normally.
We stopped in front of a door and she pointed to the door.
"Your room miss." She opened the door for me and I walked in. The door slammed close and she wasn't inside.
I frowned, this was a creepy place.
I looked around the room. It was nothing fancy or intriguing it was just plain and lifeless.
I jumped, seeing a woman sitting on a chair in front of the dressing mirror. She didn't move at all, her eyes were closed as if she was asleep but she seemed dead.
I touched her shoulders and she jerked awake.
"You're here miss. I'm sorry I didn't notice you come in." She gave me a wide smile and in front of me.
I smiled back, her smile was not genuine, it was forced. She forced her smile so much that I thought her cheeks were going to tear and bleed.
"I'm the head of the slaves here, I'm at your service. Anything you need me to do miss?"
"Oh!" I realized there must have been a mistake somewhere.
"Well, I was told I would be working with other slaves." Immediately she lost the forced smile and sneered.
I stepped back in fear. She looked at me with so much hate and disgust.
"I knew you were different. Sal and I would have a long talk about delivering messages." She mumbled.
"Well, since you're a new slave here. I would give a series of tasks until we've found a spot for you."
"Well. That wouldn't be necessary." My voice interrupted from the door.
"My Lord." The lady bowed her head in submission, glaring at me to do the same.
I rolled my eyes and bowed. If that would make her sleep at night.
Asher chuckled and walked in. "A spot has been opened for her. She would be working directly under the royals for everything they would need."
The head slave gasped beside me. "My Lord what about my post. She can't just take over my work she's new here!"
"It's an order from Lord Edward. He has decided to give you a new position, and which is to teach her everything you know before you resume work as the new head of room service."
"My Lord. Please have mercy, I have children to take care of please!" She knelt on her knees. Her whole body was trembling as if she was given a death sentence.
"Don't worry you would be given the same salary. Now if you would excuse me the new head slave and I have some things to discuss."
We both walked out of the room, leaving the woman on her knees. She glared at me her eyes red and I ran cold.
"Don't worry about her she wouldn't dare."
I just nodded.
"Where are we going?"
"Well someone wants to meet you, and I want to show you around."
I just nodded again.
We walked through different hallways, taking different turns. I noticed as we walked that every slave that comes across him would shakily greet him, and speed off.
We stopped in front of two armed guards. They opened the door immediately they noticed Asher.
We both walked in on two vampires hotly making out. Asher cleared his throat and they continued. I blushed.
My cheeks were burning hotly. And I looked away.
"Geez, you both can do this later!"
The two stopped and the girl gasped heavily, her eyes were dilated and her lips were swollen. Her top was slightly pushed down her shoulders revealing her b*a.
"You're an animal you know that." The other guy just smirked at him. Pushing the girl out of the room.
"Anyways this is Cecile. Unlike us she is human."
"Hmmm. Cecile." The guy just stared at me with his very intense eyes.
Asher walked away and sat beside the other guy on the bed. "While this jerk beside me is Haden."
They both looked at me like I was a play station 5, they were dying to buy.
I tried so much no to show any discomfort.
When I couldn't take the staring again I snapped.
"Uhm. Asher? Weren't you supposed to show me around?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Oh! yeah...Haden, we would leave now, see you later."
I left the room quickly and I sighed deeply, "Haden gives me the chills." I whined.
Asher laughed, pushing his hair back as we made it back to the familiar hallways.
"Yeah. He has that impression on people. He can be really scary when he wants to." He chuckled.
**********************
I shut the door behind me quietly, the room was already lit with a candle on the makeup table.
I stretched my sore muscles and jumped into bed. I moaned when I hit my head on a hard surface.
I raised my head and pulled the book up, moving closer to the light to inspect it.
I gasped, dropping the book. It was the same diary Aunt Joanne gave me. The book glowed from where it dropped on the floor and I moved back as a cold breeze blew into the room.
Three knocked rapped at my door, and my heart thudded. "Who is it?" I yelled.
Three more knocks on my door followed my question and I stood up skeptically.
This place was freakish enough and I've had a rough night. I don't need weirder in my life tonight, they should all wait till tomorrow morning.
But first I have to open the door. I walked to the door and took a deep breath.
I opened the door and my blood ran cold. I was grabbed by the throat-cutting off my airway and pushed into my room.
