We've been on the road for hours, and I haven't moved. I could talk or react.
I didn't even know what to say, would I say my mum shouldn't have gone to a witch doctor to save my life?
Or would I say she shouldn't have used a lotion she was lied to about its use or should I have blamed her for making a deal with the devil to save a seven-year-old me?
I couldn't even judge anyone, except that witch doctor. And sadly she was not here because if she was I would have asked her just one question.
Why?
I felt the car stop moving and I opened my eyes. I didn't even know when I dozed off.
Stranger guy jumped out of the car and opened the door for me. If I didn't know better I would have swooned.
But at the moment his actions seemed like he was opening up his dinner.
It was freezing cold. I rubbed my hands on my arms, feeling the goosebumps rise on my skin.
We were still on the road and everywhere was deserted. Stranger guy nodded towards the forest and went that way.
I stood still for a minute thinking he was joking. After a few seconds, he came back with a raised brow.
" Are you coming, or you're still taking a pose."
I scoffed. " You can't be serious, do you think I would be stupid to follow you there. This kind of thing happens in movies."
"Listen sweet cheeks," he sighed. "If I were you I would follow me because this is the most dangerous road for a girl to be found alone."
" Just imagine, the wild animals," he turned and walked into the forest.
"The kidnappers," he continued. "The serial killers!" He yelled from somewhere in the woods.
That last statement got me and I found myself calling after him.
"Hey, stranger guy wait for me." I ran into the bush, the fear of being alone with an imaginary serial killer was choking me.
I found stranger guy resting on a tree his arms folded.
"Let's..."
" Did you just call me stranger guy?" He tilted his head with narrowed eyes.
"Uh, yeah. What else was I supposed to call you? I don't even know your name."
" Well, you could have asked me. P.s where we're going to, I'm kinda like a big deal over there so just blend in by calling me by my name, not stranger guy."
Dumbass.
"Why are you staring at me like that."
" Well for one thing you haven't told me your name yet."
"Oops, my bad I'm Asher."
" Well then am...
"I know your name already don't sweat it."
Now. I'm starting to not like this guy. I squeezed my forehead.
"Let's go in." He took a step and disappeared.
What the... I took a step back picked up a stick behind me and poked the air. Nothing happened.
"Um. Asher! This is not funny!" I looked around me. I saw nothing.
"Are you coming or what?"
"Haa!" I jumped back. He just came out of thin air.
"No.no.no.no. Don't get scared yet. Nothing happens, it's just a portal."
"Yeah..." I trailed off in doubt.
Asher sighed and threw me over his shoulders.
"Hey, drop me now! You i***t!"
He took a step and I found myself in front of a huge mansion, it looked so much like a palace.
It was so wide and tall that I imagined how it would be if the building collapsed. Then I noticed one thing...or maybe two.
First, it was so cold.
Second, there was fog everywhere, I could hardly see anything beyond the mansion.
"Welcome to my home and your new home. Let's go in everyone would be waiting for us."
I stared at my surroundings, something felt weird. I just couldn't put my finger on it. There were no grasses or trees or even flowers.
What kind of place is this? The ground was plain concrete, there was no sign of sand anywhere.
The closer we got to the gigantic building the more I started to tremble. I frowned. Something doesn't feel right and I'm afraid of what that would be.
Just like any other building, Asher pushed the double doors open.
The place was dark except for the little lamp that was hanged on the wall. All the lamp did was create a soft glow on the stairs opposite the door.
Asher didn't seem to have a problem seeing in the dark as he jogged up the stairs, eager to meet his family. I followed him carefully climbing the stairs this time my fingers trembled with every step I took.
Asher and I walked through different hallways until we stopped in front of another elegant double door. I could hear murmurings and clanking of plates. Asher pushed the doors open and I was greeted with a long dining table with different people seated.
I gaped at the beautiful view, the dining was exquisite. Every decor was sure to glint, gold and silver dashed the dining room the beautiful paintings on the wall was sure to make anyone insecure. the room screamed elegance and class.
one thing I noticed was that everyone was gorgeous. they all had the same attributes as Asher, beautiful, hot, cute, drop-dead gorgeous, and dangerous. And they were all looking at me, some judged me with their eyes some didn't bother sparing me a glance.
Now I felt even more insecure than ever.
"What took you so long Asher? You had us all waiting here for hours." My head moved up to the head table and my eyes met two dangerous eyes. He looked my father's age but I know better. If I know anything about vampires from books and movies back home, it was that vampires age really and super slowly.
"I'm sorry Uncle E, but I got there and the girl wasn't informed of the agreement. So I had to take care of that." Asher left my side and walked up to the table where another vampire of Asher's age was glaring at me.
he was even more intimidating than Uncle E... now that if you look closely there was a similarity between Uncle E and scary guy.
"Young lady. As you might have noticed, you are among the most powerful vampires in the world. And you would have been informed of the purpose of your presence."
"From now on, you would work with other vampire slaves, in this castle. I hope your questions have been answered."
I nodded. I didn't bother thinking of my real answer, who knows the theory of them reading people's minds might be true. So I won't take my chances.
"You may leave now." I didn't even know where to go, but I didn't bother to ask where. If I want to survive here I would have to be careful...
Very careful.
