“Let’s head to new territory “

Avery sighed before turning to look at Xavier who was staring at her with an unreadable expression.

She wasn’t stupid,she’d be lying if she said she didn’t feel anything for him either when she didn’t know he was her mate but she didn’t want him to know that.

All those times he gently made love to her,her body craving more of him. Her emotions getting the best of her waking up to find his arms around her tightly put gently making her heart beat jump.

She swallowed a little as she got up to stand in front of his desk.

His face softened for a moment as he sighed and looked at her.

“I’m going to leave tonight but we need to have a conversation X?”She asked gently as he raised an eyebrow at her.

“Does it still Matter A,you’re leaving anyway. You probably already chose Prince Charming over there no matter what I say.”Xavier replied sitting back in his chair defeated.

“That’s not true and it does matter to me.”Avery responded staring down at him and his eyes perked up surprised.

“This isn’t easy for me X,first I find out you’re my mate,then you’re going to reject me. Then my second mate pops up out of nowhere and happens to be the prince. You lied to me and it hurts yes but I deserve a conversation and I’m not leaving until I get.”Avery snapped annoyed with him now and his spiral of emotions.

“Your an alpha,regulate your emotions. You’re as bad as Sapphire being bipolar trying to decide between you two idiots.”Avery continued rolling her eyes.

“Sapphire has an opinion on this and she can’t even pick. Even after every night I spent with her and you.”Xavier scoffed rolling his eyes.

“It’s not like Onyx has even touched you and I hope to god you don’t let him.”Xavier says getting up and placing himself in front of the window staring at the moon.

“That’s not for you to decide”Avery replied as a low growl rippled from Xavier’s throat before he closed his eyes to calm himself down before opening them again.

Avery walked over to stand beside him at the window as he turned to look at her as he let out a huff of breath.

“X,you still haven’t answered the question,please stop dodging it?”Avery asked gently this time grabbing his hand feeling the sparks shoot off of them.

Her heart instantly calmed and so did Xavier’s as he looked at her.

“Fine what do you want to talk about Avery? I’ve given you every answer I feel now. This isn’t easy for me either.”Xavier replied swallowing nervously.

“I want to know if what you said earlier was true before I left for the prom.”Avery asked staring in his eyes as he stared back as if he could see through her soul.

Xavier stepped forward and bent down slowly before closing the gap between them and gently moving his lips into hers.

Avery sat still for a minute before kissing him back their lips moving in sync slowly.

Electrical sparks went off and goose bumps fell all over there skin.

Xavier pulled her closer deepening the kiss as his tongue begged for entrance across her bottom lip.

She slowly parted her lips letting a small moan slip through as her tongue began to dance with his.

They both pulled away panting as Xavier laid his forehead on top of hers with his eyes close.

“A,please don’t go,I can’t do this. I need to be able to see you.”Xavier let out quietly before opening his eyes looking into hers.

“It’s only for a little while and his castle is probably more secure Xavier.”Avery replied softly.

“I can protect you though,you don’t need him. Please,this doesn’t even feel right. You being away from me. What if something happens and I can’t get to you in time.”Xavier asks softly staring at her rubbing small circles on her waist with his hand.

Sapphire purred in approval and Xavier chuckled.

“You can’t pick but you like it when I touch you? Are you bi-polar Saphy?”Xavier asked as she growled at him,him busting out laughing at her as Avery blushed.

“Asshole.”Sapphire muttered in my head.

“X,I will be okay,I promise. If something happens I’ll send a message to you okay. I promise.”Avery replied as he sighed and nodded his head.

He kissed her lips gently this time as if she’d break under his touch.

“I will make sure to get to you no matter what happens A. That’s a promise.”Xavier replied before they both turned to leave his study.

Avery made her way to her room packing up her clothes,shoes and toiletries.

She looked around as her eyes fell on something in the corner and smiled gently to herself. She grabbed it and threw it in her bag.

Xavier was waiting for her outside her room and took her bag from her before heading downstairs.

Avery turned and found everyone in the living room sitting down chatting amongst themselves.

They all turned the moment they saw them standing there.

“So who wants to say goodbye first?”Avery whispered before Noah jumped up and crushed her into a hug.

“Doll this isn’t goodbye,this is see you later.”Noah said pulling away and ruffling her hair as she swatted him away.

“That’s right.”Clinton said jumping up to come give her a hug.

“A,let me know if I need to kick anyone’s ass when you get back.”Clinton said giving her a side hug and ruffling her hair also as she smacked his hand away.

“Hey! You didn’t smack him!”Clinton said pointing at Noah.

“That was his only pass since it was his first offense,the second it’s a smack.”Avery smirked at Clinton before turning towards Noah who held his hands up in surrender laughing.

Clinton chuckled before looking over at Xavier.

“Not gonna say you see ya later Mate?”Clinton asked looking between Avery and Xavier.

“We already did upstairs Clint.”Xavier replied as he looked towards Onyx who had his hands stuffed in his pockets standing in the corner.

“Onyx?”Xavier called seriously as he looked up meeting Xavier’s gaze who no one could read at the moment.

“Be careful with Avery because if not I will hunt you down.”Xavier said seriously as everyone’s eyes widen with the atmosphere changing tensely.

Onyx walked over nonchalantly standing in front of Xavier as Xavier handed him Avery’s bag.

“I’d like to see you try honestly but no harm will come to Avery.”Onyx replied coldly as he re-adjusted Avery’s bag over his shoulder and turning towards her.

“Both of you stop it.”Avery said quietly as Both of them went to look at her.

She sighed tiredly exhausted now.

“You both are my mates,you’re a prince and an alpha and Xavier you’re an alpha who took over very young. Both of your temper’s can only take so much.”Avery continued as she looked between them now.

“Avery.”Xavier replied softly putting a strand of hair behind her ear.

“I apologize Avery.”Onyx replied also looking at her gently.

“Damn! If that’s how a mate is supposedly to act I want one. Like putty in your hand!”Clinton said laughing.

“Shut up.”Xavier snapped at Clinton rolling his eyes.

“You’d be the putty though Clinton.”Levi reminded him before he scoffed shaking his head.

“Never mind then.”Clinton mumbled embarrassed as everyone laughed at him.

“Ready to go?”Onyx said as smiling gently as Avery as she nodded gently before grabbing his hand.

“She will be safe inside my walls,I promise all of you that. My driver is outside so I’ll be escorting Avery out now.”Onyx said looking at everyone as the nodded at him.

Onyx walked with Avery to his car as the driver opened the door for them before the slipped inside as the door closed.

Onyx set her bag down on the seat and turned to look at her.

“You ready Avery?”Onyx ask gently as she looked at him and nodded her head slowly.

“Very well then.”Onyx said turning to the driver and nodded his head for the signal for him to start driving.

Avery looked out the window as the pack house began to disappear in the distance.
