Avery sighed as she looked around the room.
It had been an hour since Onyx left her and she was pondering on what she would wear to this dinner.
This wasn’t just the pack house he brought her to,it was the palace. She couldn’t go to dinner wearing plain jeans and a t-shirt.
She groaned to herself before there came a knock at the door.
She opened to reveal a woman in her mid-forties in servant clothes. Avery looked at her as the woman was smiling at her warmly.
“Hi Ms.Avery I’m Delilah,The queens personal assistant. She wanted me to help you pick out an outfit for tonight’s dinner. She sent me here herself.”Delilah said as Avery blinked surprised before letting her into the room.
“Hello Ms.Delilah,I am very grateful. I’m not accustomed to these matters of dress attire in a palace. I do appreciate your help and being here.”Avery smiled thanking her.
Delilah smiled warmly at the young girl an made her way into the closet, fiddling through coat hangers with garments on them.
She watched as she came forward with a Baby blue off-shoulder dress and white pearl heels.
Avery stared in awe as she handed them off to her.
“Try these on,it’s Onyx’s favorite color actually.”She remarked as she shop’s Avery away into the bathroom.
Avery put the dress on and watched as it tightened around her body.
She bent down to put her shoe on and looked to see initials on them threaded in white. She scrunched her eyebrows up confused as she looked to see AS sewed into them and pearls hanging around the ankles.
She shook her head and brushed it off before putting them off, making her a couple inches taller then she was.
She walked out of the bathroom and Delilah was standing there staring in awe as if Avery was the most beautiful thing she saw.
“My dear, you’re gorgeous.”Delilah said walking up to her and gently turning her towards the full length mirror that was behind her.
Avery gasped smiling warmly as the dress hugged her curves in all the right places, showed a little cleavage and her fair skin was glistening.
She truly felt as beautiful as if she did yesterday when she got ready for prom.
“It’s time for the final touches Dear, sit down and let me work my magic. These old bones, still got some left.”Delilah said laughing as she sat her down at the Vanity in the room turning up the mirror to see better.
An hour had passed and it was 7:30pm,dinner was starting at 8pm.
Delilah smiled putting the final touches on Avery before turning her back to the mirror.
Avery smiled warmly to women through her reflection in the mirror.
He dark brown cascaded into loose curls down her back beautifully,as Delilah had applied light make-up to make her blue eyes pop.
A set of pearl earrings and a necklace to match to finish the look.
“Thank you Delilah,I truly feel like a princess.”Avery said getting up all giddy to hug her as Delilah stumbled back a little bit surprised as she daughter her balance.
Avery stepped back pulling her back up before she could fully fall from the ground.
“I’m sorry Delilah,I got to excited.”Avery said blushing embarrassed.
Delilah laughed at the young girl and patted her shoulder lovingly as if she was her daughter.
“It’s okay my dear but it looks like,it’s time for us to go. How are you feeling?”Delilah asked staring at her.
Avery sighed as she felt knots in the middle of her stomach at the nervousness that rushed back to see all these people who expected her to just be a Luna. How could she even decide if she had two mates or would she even fit in here.
“Honestly, nervous.”Avery responded looking at the older women. Delilah kindly smiled at her and nodded.
“It’s okay, just be yourself and everyone will love you. Just always hold your head high and show them who you are.”Delilah said honestly as she gave Avery’s hand a reassuring squeeze.
Avery smiled at her feeling her emotions lightened a little bit.
There was a knock at the door before it slowly opened.
Avery’s eyes widen for a moment seeing Onyx in a white tux with baby blue shirt and silk tie underneath. Avery blushed to be matching with the prince. They must of planned this, she couldn’t help but laugh to herself.
“Aww,he wanted to match with his mate. He’s adorable Avery. If you don’t want him,I’ll take him. United we stand.”Sapphire hummed in her head and Avery smirked trying not to laugh at Her wolf’s boldness.
Onyx stepped farther into the room staring Avery down with a soft expression.
“My lady?”He said reaching his hand out to her for her to grab.
Avery blushed as she put her hand in his and smiled gently at him.
His kinda nature made her heart always flip in cart wheels. Xavier was soft but this man was softer.
Would it really be so bad to stay here? I know I’m young but being a Luna and a queen would have its advantages also.
“Thank you Delilah for all your help.”Onyx said smiling over his shoulder as he lead Avery into the hallway towards the staircase.
They reached the top of the staircase and Avery’s eyes widen for just a moment as she looked down to see his whole pack there waiting on them,on her.
She felt Onyx’s hand tightened a little in comforting way before she turned slightly to look at him.
“Whatever happens Avery, just be yourself and if there’s any problems remember I will always protect you from harm.”He said in a whisper still staring at the crowd smiling low enough for her to hear.
Avery gulped,he was doing it again. She was gonna make this very hard to choice between him and Xavier. He also had an advantage, she was here with only him and Xavier couldn’t fight for her this time.
She been trying to ignore the sparks for Xavier’s sake at times but it truly was beginning not to work since she got here.
She couldn’t tell if she was falling or deeply infatuated with how caring and kind he was.
Was what Xavier said a lie about Onyx for him to keep her to himself?
She couldn’t tell and she damn sure was definitely going to have a hard time telling the truth from the fiction right now with this charming prince.
She turned back to the crowd as they slowly made their way down the stairs gracefully.
Avery looked around as they made it to the end of the staircase as everyone clapped and cheered.
Veronica had appeared beside Avery from out of nowhere locking her other arm with her smiling warmly at her.
“What do you think of your welcome?”She asked sweetly as Avery smiled back at her.
“It’s beautiful, everyone is so accepting here. It’s beautiful.”Avery replied nodding her head at Veronica.
“Good,I’m glad.”Veronica replied before she began to walk towards the dining hall with the pack behind the three of them.
Veronica led Avery to a seat all the way at the head of the table next to her.
Onyx sat all the way at the other side nodding to them as acknowledgement on his face with a warm smile.
Avery looked around as everyone sat down in there chairs.
Veronica stood up from her seat looking around at everyone as the dining hall got quiet.
“Good Evening everyone,I wanted to welcome you into the palace for a very special dinner for a very special guest. Please, make her feel welcome and try to be very accommodating for her. She is here under our protection for the time being.”Veronica said smiling at the crowd as she smiled down at Avery.
“This is Avery Stone,She’s a very special to my son Onyx here. So please be kind to her.”Veronica finished as Avery stood up and bowed smiling at them.
Veronica smirked satisfied and proud,Avery moved as if she was already a queen. It warmed her heart honestly.
She felt a pang in her heart, she was always a strong-willed woman but she felt guilt naw at her a little. She knew she was kind but still had to be cold in a sense.
This girl she could mold into a beautiful Luna and queen but they needed her to save them, which would save millions just not Avery herself.
They both took their seats before a door bursted open and everyone turned to see a tall,Blonde woman.
Avery observed her as long, rose gold glitter dressed cascaded her body down to the floor, matching with 4 inch classic clear heels. Her make-up was in perfect condition and so was her hair.
“Good evening everyone, how come I didn’t get an invite for a dinner. I thought we were all family.”She asked looking around as some smiled, some rolled their eyes and some just looked on in amusement.
She noticed a couple of people dart their eyes between her,and the women.
Avery had a bad feeling that this was about to go incredibly wrong for some reason.
