Torn Between Two Alpha’s

“Attack?”

Avery stared at the blood in shock for another second before jumping out of bed into the hallway running into the direction of the figure.

Avery ran and turned into another hallway and didn’t see anyone. She was confused as she held her head feeling slightly dizzy before she passed out on the floor.

(Onyx POV)

I tossed and turned feeling sticky underneath the covers before groaning to myself and sitting up.

Her scent was alluring all the way across the hall,I was turned on an disgusted at the same time.

Fate really wasn’t kind to me,I could tell Avery was an emotional girl and she could feel the mate bond but I had to keep up the facade as long as she was here and get her to save us all.

I watched her tonight,as her ivory skin glowed in that dressed that hugged every curve perfectly.

I shook my head to evade my thoughts,No Onyx you can’t think about her like that!

She was the enemy even if she didn’t know it yet. I still had to win her over and get her to accept me as her mate. That’s all I need to get done.

Don’t fall for her Onyx,don’t be an i***t.

“You definitely are an i***t!”A voice inside his head said and he rolled his eyes.

“Malachi,shut up!”Onyx snapped annoyed with his wolf.

“Silent this whole time and wanna speak up now? Aren’t we noble.”Onyx said with his voice clipped.

“I’m noble but I don’t know about you.”Malachi responded in a fierce tone this time angered at Onyx.

Onyx suddenly went silent and clenched his jaw in anger.

He knew his wolf was pissed off at him,all he wanted was to go to her and shower her with love and affection and Onyx was being an i***t and plotting up schemes.

“I don’t even know how you’re a prince and an Alpha at this point.”Malachi stated aggravated.

Onyx smirk raising an eyebrow with a smirk on his face.

“Oh yeah,then what am I?”Onyx ask curiously still smirking.

“A disgraceful bastard.”Malachi replied huffing in anger as the smirk vanished from Onyx’s face in an instant.

Onyx shook his head gritting his teeth before getting up and looking towards his door.

“You know you wanna check on her Onyx,go do it.”His wolf urged him.

Onyx rolled his eyes before reluctantly getting up and heading towards his door.

Onyx opened the door and he scrunched his eyebrows in confusion as the door was already opened.

His face stared into the room confused before walking out and his eyes widen for a minute to see blood trailing down the hallway.

His nostrils flared and felt his anger exceeding effortlessly.

“EVERYONE,FIND AVERY NOW!”Onyx said through his mind-link to the guards.

Onyx followed the trail of blood cautiously down the hallway and turned a corner before he gritted his teeth in anger.

His wolf was seething as he slowly began crouching down to the floor.

He gently moved hair out of a girls face to realize it was Avery and his throat tightened.

“You f*****g i***t! Avery got her because you’re a jerk and couldn’t keep her safe!”His wolf snapped as Onyx’s head throbbed from anger.

He slowly moved both arms under her steadily and carried her to his room before setting her on his bed.

“I need the Pack doctor now! He better be here in 10 minutes or he’s fired!”Onyx barked through the mind-link to everyone who was on patrol.

He heard scrambling outside his door as two guards walked in confused before their eyes widen staring at the girl with blood on her head.

“Where is the doctor!?”Onyx snapped as they stared at him scared of his rage surfacing.

The next second the pact doctor and the queen walked in.

The doctor walked up past Onyx and examined the girl on the bed.

The queen looked at her with sympathy and at her son with the same look.

“Doctor rain I need you to tell me if this is serious? I don’t know what actually happened an found her in the hallway as a blood trail led me to her. We need to make sure she’s okay.”Onyx said staring at him his voice off sounding upset.

The queen raised an eyebrow at her son confused wondering if this was a show of his emotions or if they were real.

She liked Avery but she had to die for everyone in the kingdom to live.

She sighed quietly to herself before a thought occurred to her.

“Were there any guards outside her door?”The queen asked curiously looking at everyone.

“No ma’am,I don’t believe so. Prince Onyx escorted her back to her room personally and didn’t think she’d need any for the night since everyone just met her.”A guard named Elijah told the queen.

The queen turned and glared at Onyx as he glared back.

“Just because everyone here had met her tonight doesn’t mean everyone is actually friendly. You have to be more careful son. All actions have dire consequences. You know that,better than anyone.”The queen snapped annoyed at her son’s competence.

“I thought she’d be fine,I was across the hall and could everything.”Onyx replied gritting his teeth.

“Well apparently not everything if it seems like someone probably attacked her! If she was marked,you would have felt her the moment something was wrong!”The queen replied glaring harder at her son.

“Mom I can’t force her!”Onyx snapped as he felt his wolf seething again.

“Ugh,this son of mine needs to learn better manners and how to protect his mate better. Go get the CCTV footage and both of us will verify what happened to Avery! I don’t want to compromise the girls privacy but if someone got in this close and the prince was right there we need extra precautions.”The queen said rubbing her temples as she felt a headache coming on closing her eyes for a moment.

“Elijah station yourself and three other shoulders here for this room. Two on the outside and you can stand by the window inside the room until we get this figured out.”The queen continued as she turned towards her son.

She watched him and gave a sad smile to herself and shook her head.

He was staring at Avery in pain and if she didn’t know any better,she would believe that he was already in love with the poor girl when she came back into his life for the second time.

Suddenly the doctor turned towards Onyx and the queen.

“I’m not sure what happened besides the queen’s accusations of someone attacking but I fear she is right. I’ve given Avery an IV with antibiotics and pain killers. Her wolf should do the rest. I’m going to do a couple stitches on the top of her head just in case.”The doctor said staring at them as they both nodded in approval.

The doctor gave Onyx a sympathetic look also seeing his face so grim.

“She’ll be okay Alpha Onyx,she just needs rest and the medicine should help her.”The doctor reassured him as Onyx nodded tightening his jaw in worry.

“Follow me out son,we need to get to bottom of this before we have murderer’s on the loose.”The queen interjected as Onyx looked at her coldly and she ignored him as she walked out the door.

Onyx gave one last look to Avery and sighing with his eyes close before following the queen out.
