Raven
"No kissing in private... I'm... not ready for that stage yet," I started and he just smirked as his answer. "Unless we're out in public and need to show a bit of intimacy, then it's fine."
"And?" He probed.
"Your turn to add a rule. Let's take turns."
"How many rules will there be for each person? Should I make a document about this so it'll be legit?" He laughed a bit.
I smirked at that. "I like that! So, what's your first rule? We'll have a maximum of 5 rules each."
He touched his chin and saw him thinking. "In every event that I'll attend, you have to be with me, no matter how big the media is."
I nodded. "My rule number 2 is to don't cheat on me," I stated seriously. "I know this is all pretend and if ever you have feelings for someone or the one you're waiting for comes back, just be honest and I'll let you go. Just. Don't. Cheat."
I saw him lift his mouth for a small smile. "Consider it done. My next rule is that we have to be on each other's socials. No hiding."
I blinked at that for a moment before I agreed. "My third rule is to always be honest. I don't need your updates all the time, but I just need your honesty at this pretend thing." I smiled and he nodded.
"Third rule is to have no contact with an ex unless the other knows," he said, seriously.
"Okay... Uhm... My fourth rule is we'll have at least 1 date night a week."
"1 only?" He chuckled and I glared at him. "Okay.. okay... My fourth rule is that I want each of us to meet each other's families. My family has this tradition of eating together for dinner every Sunday and I want you to come with me. If we're going to pretend, then we should at least make it seem more believable to avoid suspicions."
"That's no problem for me..." I smiled. "My last rule is to be respectful to each other. Yours?"
"I'll put mine on hold. I can't think about the last rule yet." I nodded at his answer.
"So, deal?" I asked.
He nodded. "Deal."
I woke up with a text from Raoul saying that the documents for our deal is now created and all we need is our signatures. I yawned, not wanting to get up. It's a Wednesday.
Raven: Deliver the documents to my office. Thanks, friend!
I chuckled at that. I know it'll get to Rao's nerves. He's so easy to tease.
Raoul Elijah: Friend?
I laughed at that and didn't bother to reply anymore. I got ready for work and now that I'm at work, there was a sudden board meeting held. Why am I not informed about this?
"What's going on?" I asked my secretary.
"Your parents are inside the meeting room, ma'am."
I nodded and went inside the conference room. All stood up as they saw me and bowed their heads as their greeting.
"Good morning or is it a bad morning?" I asked seriously. The moment I sat down, everybody did too. "Dad?" I looked at my dad.
"We're going to fire Aaron Matias." Dad said, and I was shocked at that. "He leaked some private incoming project information to other companies most especially the Herald's Real Estate."
"He did what?" I shockingly asked. How can he do that?! "Was he blackmailed or something?" I followed up but no one answered.
"Even if he was blackmailed, he could've reported to at least just one of us and could help him with the situation."
I nodded but still I can't help to feel betrayed. He has been in the company longer than I have and my family trusts him so much that we consider him as family, too. "Please investigate this further. I don't want to lead a decision that will make me regret. Consider him suspended while the investigation is on going. Adjourned." I stated and everyone stood up and quickly went out of the conference room.
Meanwhile my mom, dad, and me are still here.
"How's... your date?" Dad asked carefully. I looked at him and saw that my parents are now looking at me.
Right... They did not bother me after that date. Maybe they'll think that they're pushing me so bad to have a date. I smiled slowly. "We're slowly getting to know each other. I know him by name but we're going there."
They both sighed heavily and that made my heart ache. I'm so sorry for lying just for you both to think that I'm moving on.
"Ms. Raven Buenavente?" My secretary called me. "Mr. Grey is here." She smiled a bit and I nodded.
"I'll talk to him first." My dad stated and stood up to walk out of the conference room quickly. I pouted at that because I know what he'll say to Rao. My pout disappeared when my mom held my hand and smiled a bit.
"Darling, I want you to know that your father and I are always here for you no matter what. If you don't like this, then don't force it. You'll heal soon and I want you to always know that true and healthy love exists. A genuine love that you deserve will come." Mom smiled and her small message made me tear up a bit.
I love my parents so much. "I know, mom. It's just... I'm hurt... so hurt." A tear dropped from my eye and before reaching onto my cheek, my mom wiped it off with her handkerchief.
"I know, Rave... You deserve better."
I nodded at that. There's still slight hope that I might experience to love again. That I'll be able to love another man other than Ethan. That I'm going to have a taste of real love and that I'll find a man who thinks I'm more than enough.
My mom and I went to my office and my father was already outside. He went closer to kiss my forehead. "Your mom and I will go now, sweetie. Raoul's inside your office." Dad smiled. I said my goodbyes to my parents and I went inside my office.
"Hey..." I called his attention. "I said to just deliver the documents." I smirked.
He raised his brow. "I did deliver the documents." he pointed at the long brown folder that's on top of my desk. "You need to specific next time."
I sighed and chuckled a bit. I went closer to my desk to open the folder. I chuckled when I saw the document. "This f*****g looks like a law article signing." He smiled at that.
