Benson lifted Harry from Nelita’s arms and carried him into the hall.
He whimpered a little as the butler did so, because it obviously hurt his knee if he moved it.
Nelita followed and asked immediately for Annie and a footman ran upstairs to fetch her.
“Having brought your protégé here,” the Duke said in the hall, “where do you suggest you treat him.”
“I think it would be best in the empty bedroom next to mine,” Nelita replied.
For a moment the Duke raised his eyebrows and then agreed,
“Very well, but I would hope he does not do too much damage.”
“There is no reason why he should do any,” Nelita said, “and I am sure he is a very nice little boy at heart.”
