“We are going to bed early, for the simple reason that we are getting up very early tomorrow morning.”
“Do you mean we are going to Rock Hall?”
“That is what I had intended to do, but as it happens we are going to do something first that I think you will find very exciting and will amuse you.”

“I have a horse running at Ascot tomorrow,” the Duke said, “in a minor meeting arranged by the Duke of York. It is really, as one might say, a rehearsal for Royal Ascot. My manager has one of my horses entered, which he hopes will do well in the Gold Cup.”
“So we are going to see him run?” Nelita asked.
“I thought that it might interest you and then, when I mentioned it to His Royal Highness, he asked me if we would have luncheon with him at Royal Lodge.”
