JACOB
The sun filtered through the curtains into my room, I opened my eyes, immediately turning my attention to the woman asleep beside me. I tucked her hair away from her face, caressing the curve of her jaw line. She sighed, leaning into my hand.
A soft smile tugged at the edges of my lips, just as my phone vibrated. Sighing, I reluctantly got out of bed, grabbing my phone in the process. I glanced at her once more, my eyes trailing over her sleeping form, before heading out of the room. I made my way down the short flight of stairs onto the hallway that led to Adelaide's bedroom when Delilah walked out of the room, wringing her wrists.
“Delilah?”
She jumped at the sound of my voice, spinning around to face me.
“Uh… Prime!!!”
I raised a brow, noticing how frazzled she was.
“Is anything the matter?” I inquired.
“Y… no… I can't find the Luna Prime.” She stuttered.
Oh…
“She's in my room.” I answered, her eyes widened and I had to stop myself from chuckling at her expression, I brushed past her.
“Let her sleep in, she needs it.” I instructed, hearing her sharp intake, I made my way down to my office. It was high time Adlartok learnt there was consequences of f*****g with me. I settled in my chair before dialling the South American Alpha Prime's official number, he answered after a few rings.
“Hello, Alpha Prime Felipe speaking, who is this please?”
“This is Jacob Mont Blanc” I replied, sensing the slight pause before he continued.
“Prime Jacob, to what do I owe this pleasure?” He asked.
“I was perusing through our Free Trade Agreement recently and our long standing relationship between the two continents.”
“Yes, we have had a strong relationship, starting from your late father and moving to you.” He said, I bit back a retort, he and the other Alpha Primes had not only excluded my father though Felipe had tried to maintain somewhat of a neutral stand, but that was no excuse for his actions which also included ignoring the several letters I had sent him regarding what Charles had done to Adelaide and I.
“In regards to that, I have a proposal to further strengthen our agreement, one I am sure will benefit your continent.” I continued.
“I am all ears.”
I smirked.
“I am willing to remove the trade restrictions on some of the exports.” I began.
“Remove trade restrictions you say? On what products?” He inquired.
“Sugar, Beef, coffee to name a few.” I replied, leaning forward and resting my elbows on my desk. “I am also willing to lower the tariffs on all oil, natural gas and petroleum products for the next century.”
He paused, contemplating my offer.
“And what do you get in return for these?” He inquired.
“Full control of the Ushuaia port.” I replied, leaning back into my chair.
“You expect me to give you autonomy over a port in my continent?”
“For the next century, yes. The port in Ushuaia has a docking space of about 300 metres which you will agree with me isn't something to boast about and Ushuaia has a lot of potential, imagine the revenue gain where there is a standard port in place.”
“And you are doing this… out of the goodness of your heart, I have never known Mont Blancs to be generous to anyone not from their continent.” He stated, unconvinced, I bit back a chuckle.
“No Felipe, we are not known for our charity, which is why I asked for full autonomy for the next century while I upgrade the port. Whatever profit I get belongs to my continent, after that, the port reverts back to you.” I explained.
He was quiet.
“I'll have to consult with my advisors.” He finally replied.
“Alright, however Felipe”
“Yes?” He answered
“This offer won't be on the table for long, I suggest you come to a decision as soon as possible.” I stated
With that I ended the call, mind linking Ben, my advisor on Financial and economic matters.
Prime?
Come to my office, we have much to discuss regarding the South and Northern American Free Trade Agreement. I instructed.
I'll be right there. He replied.
I leaned into my chair, my plan for Adlartok was coming along nicely, by the time I was done, he would wish he had never f****d with me.

ADELAIDE
My eyes fluttered open and for a few seconds, I laid there, staring at the ceiling feeling as though I was in some sort of dream like state but I knew it was real, I was awake and everything that had happened last night with Jacob, the letters, Eda and Nanna Ur had all been true.
I sat up.
Wait a minute…
I looked around, brows furrowed.
This wasn't my room. Where the hell was I and what happened last night after I had blacked out. I got out of bed, looking down at the shirt I was wearing.
I had no shirt as big as this which meant… Jacob. I sighed, running my fingers through my hair before realising that I felt no pain when I moved.
What the hell…
I rushed to the bathroom and stared at my reflection in the mirror. My rosy complexion was back and most important of all…
A gasp escaped my lips as I stared at the healed mark. It was like nothing I had ever seen before, yes every wolf’s mark was different but it had always been black, yet mine was blood red and the markings around the main mark were fascinating, almost as if they were the wordings of another language.
I stared at it, different feelings causing chaos within me. The last mark that had been on my neck had been Harry’s… even if he had never been my real mate yet seeing another mark on my neck felt strange. I raised a finger, gently touching it and gasping slightly at the sensations it evoked.
“Ms Adelaide?”
I heard Delilah's voice coming from the bedroom so I stepped back in. Her eyes widened at the sight of me and she approached me.
“Good morning.”
“Morning” I mumbled. “What's the time?”
She glanced at her phone.
“10:00 am. I came to get you for breakfast and don't tell me you're not hungry because you haven't eaten anything in the past day.” She huffed, I let out a sigh feeling exhausted already from the events of the last two days, I brushed past her and out of Jacob's room, she followed after me. I walked back to my room.
“I'll get ready.” I whispered, closing the bathroom door behind me. There were so many thoughts going through my head, most of which I was unable to come to terms with. I pulled the shirt off and got under the shower head, pushing every thought out of my mind and focusing on my shower.
**************** **************** *****************
The doors to the dining room opened and I walked in, my eyes landing not on Jacob but on the seat to his left where my breakfast had been set, far away from my usual spot at the end of the table, away from him.
What the…
I swallowed hard and approached the seat.
“Good morning.” He said, as I sat down.
“Morning” I mumbled, picking at my food. I took a bite of the sausage, chewing softly. The silence around us was awkward yet underneath it, I could feel him… I could feel his aura enveloping me, trying to draw me in. I closed my eyes, letting out a shaky breath. I knew it was the blasted bond making me feel this way.
“Do you plan on going to the Consulate today?” He asked, getting to his feet. His words felt like an arrow to my heart
“If this is your idea of a joke, it's not funny.” I snapped, my eyes trained to my plate. I gasped, when his finger gripped my chin, forcing me to stare up at him.
“I won't joke about something like this Adelaide, you're free to go to the Consulate and your cousin can stay on the continent for as long as he wants.”
My lips parted slightly, brows furrowed as I tried to make sense of this change in him.
“That reminds me.”
I watched as he pulled out a card and placed it on the table next to me. It was a drivers’ licence in my name.
“We couldn't get the exact model of car you drove in Ridgeway but I was assured it is a close match.” He continued, placing a car key next to the drivers licence. I swallowed hard, my eyes glued to them before I looked back at him.
“W-why are you doing this?” I whispered. He stared at me, something flickering in his eyes.
“I guess I was so lost in my rage and anger towards your father for robbing me of you for over nine years that I forgot that you are as much a victim in this as I am.”
With that, he walked out of the dining room, the doors closing behind him. I picked up the drivers licence, staring at my picture… my real picture, not some edited picture, it was odd seeing it.
I blinked back the tears that threatened to cloud my vision, my appetite gone. I picked up the keys and headed out of the dining room back to my room where Delilah was folding some clothes.
“You're ba… are you okay?” She asked, coming to stand in front of me. I blinked, nodding.
“Yes… um.. can you pick out something for me to wear, preferably with a turtleneck.” I requested. She nodded and I watched her rummage through my closet.
“What do you think about this?” She inquired, holding up a brown pantsuit and a black cotton long sleeve turtleneck.
“It's perfect.”
She watched as I changed into the outfit, using a claw clip to tie my hair up and away from my face. I looked at myself in the mirror, Jacob's mark was hidden underneath the soft cotton, I could feel my beast revolting against it, wanting to show off the mark.
“Do you need me to get a car for you?” She asked, I shook my head, grabbing my bag.
“No, don't worry about it.”
I made my way out of the room, down the stairs and out of the house, stopping in my tracks at the sleek black Range Rover in front of me, it was slightly bigger than the one in Ridgeway Valley.
I approached the car, unlocking it. I got in, looking around, it had that new car smell yet mentally I wasn't there, I felt as if I was floating above my physical form, observing the scene from afar. I pressed a button and the car purred to life. I pulled onto the road leading away from the cottage towards the main road out of the pack. I drove on, several thoughts swimming through my mind. Jacob's odd behaviour this morning… how I even ended up in his bed, and the letters… the letters…
My hands tightened on the steering wheel and I let out a shaky breath.
It's okay Adelaide… just concentrate on driving to the Consulate… just concentrate on that.
***************** ***************** *****************
I slowed the car as I arrived at the gates to the Consulate, a guard walked over as I rolled the window down. His eyes widened at the sight of me.
“Alpha Prime!!! I had no idea it was you.”
He gestured for the gates to be opened, I smiled and drove through, parking in the parking lot before heading into the Consulate and making my way up to my office.
“Prime?”
I turned to see Magnus walking towards me.
“Good morning Magnus.” I greeted.
“I was about to send a car to Yellowstone, the contractors for the France chemical plant are here.” He explained.
Shit I had completely forgotten about that.
“Right… um, where are they right now?” I asked.
“In the conference room.”
“Alright, I'll be there in a minute or two.” I replied. He nodded and walked off.
Liam? I called out.
Adelaide?! Are you here? He replied.
Yes, can you please join me for the meeting with the contractors for the French project?
Of course, are they here already? He asked.
Yes.
Alright
I mentally prepared myself and made my way to the conference room, pushing the door open. The men stood as I took my place at the head of the table, they bowed.
“Gentlemen.” I greeted them before sitting, they followed suit just as the door opened and Liam walked in, taking a seat. He glanced at me and I nodded at him before opening the folder in front of me.
“Let's begin”
****************** ************** ****************
The meeting continued on and I found myself zoning out several times, my mind on Jacob and the letters… Why didn't my father just let Jacob have me? Why sacrifice an entire pack? It made no sense… and why didn't the other Alpha Primes do nothing about it? Why didn't they help?
Adelaide?
I jolted hearing Liam's voice in my head before realising everyone's eyes were on me. I shifted a bit in my seat, clearing my throat.
Are you okay? He asked.
Y-yes… I… um… What are we talking about?
The permits, they are still waiting on the French Alpha.
“I'll talk to the French Alpha to expedite the permits.” I said, they nodded and continued on with the meeting, once again I found myself drifting off into my thoughts, the conference room fading away.
“Adelaide”
I blinked back and noticed the conference room was empty.
“Where's everyone?” I asked.
“I asked them to give us a minute.” Liam explained. “You've been spacing out, what's wrong?”
I swallowed hard, looking up at him. I didn't even know how to tell him about everything.
I shook my head, he took my hand in his.
“Tell me what's wrong Addie.”
Tears brimmed in my eyes before rolling down my cheeks.
“Lili” my voice shook “I don't even know where to start from… he… Jacob…”
His eyes darkened and a low growl rippled through him.
“Did that fucker hurt you? I swear to Eda, I'll f*****g kill him.”
I shook my head.
“N-no, he didn't hurt me. He… he sent letters, Liam, he had sent letters.. oh Eda, I don't even know how to explain it, I have never felt so confused in my entire life. It's as if someone has pulled the carpet from under my feet.”
Liam pulled me into his arms as I cried.
“Calm down Adelaide, let’s start from the beginning. Jacob sent letters… what letters?” He asked. I pulled away and lifted my bag onto the table and brought out a handful of the letters, my hands shaking.
Liam frowned and took them from me, he sat and began reading them. I wrapped my arms around my body, watching him through my tear filled vision.
By the time he was done reading, he was pale, his eyes wide, fingers digging into the envelope.
“They all knew…” He whispered, barely able to keep the fury of his wolf out of his voice, I nodded.
“and they didn't do anything about it… they just… they just let Uncle Charles go ahead with changing your mate and their actions doomed us all.”
He looked up at me, tears and pain gathering in his eyes.
“Why?”
I shook my head.
“I have no idea why, my dad knows and he’s dead… the only other… Eda… Liam, is there a prayer room in the Consulate?” I inquired.
“Yes, it's on the ground floor.” He replied, looking confused. “What do you plan on doing?”
I stood up, turning to him, squaring my shoulders.
“I'm going to go ask Eda why she had my father change my mate and I am not stepping out of that room until she does.”
