Groaning, I shoved Dylan off of the bed as he continued to jump on it. He chuckled and crawled on top of me, resting his head on my breasts as he breathed heavily. "I'm tired," he mumbled. "If you didn't wake up at five in the morning," I mumbled and turned away. "Leave me alone. It's only nine. That means I only got six hours of sleep." Dylan hummed and kissed my collarbone. "We have to leave in half an hour, love. Hurry up and get ready." My eyes went wide and I jumped up, dashing out of the room and going into the shower and quickly cleaning my body. When I finished, I brushed my teeth before going through my closet. I found a tight, black pencil skirt and white blouse and threw them on, putting a fashionable coat above them. "Stockings!" I yelled and grabbed black stockings, putting them over my legs and under my skirt. I put some black heels on and sped walked to the washroom, taking my time on putting my hair in a high bun. When I finished, I applied some light makeup before walking out of my bedroom, feeling complete. "Only took ten minutes," Dylan said, impressed. "We still have twenty minutes to get breakfast." I smiled. "But I would rather much wait until we got home so I could have my lunch." I frowned. That meant I couldn't have my lunch. "Why?" Dylan smirked and walked away. After three minutes of trying to understand, I caught on and felt my face flush before I sped down the hall and to the first floor where Dylan was waiting for me. He opened the door, a smirk still on his face, and watched me walk through the door before smacking my butt, making me jump and turn around with a scowl, my cheeks on fire. "I would tell you to change," he said and closed the door, locking it. "But I would probably disapprove of everything you wore." I rolled my eyes. "Nothing is wrong with this outfit, Dylan." "Besides the fact that you're wearing both a tight shirt and skirt. It makes your boobs and ass look amazing but I won't be the only one to think that. I smiled and sat in the car. Turning the heat up so I have warmed up from the chilly breeze this morning, I looked around for something to use as a blanket. "Here." Dylan handed me his coat and I smiled as his scent filled my nose. I snuggled into it and closed my eyes. When I woke up, I was still in the car, however, the surroundings were much more different. Everything was misty and wet and looked like the land had never had a day without rain. "Where are we?" I asked Dylan, yawning. "Rain Crescent." I snorted. "That's why they call it 'Rain' Crescent." "We're here," Dylan said and turned his car off, opening the door. I copied his actions. "Whatever you do," he said and wrapped an arm possessively around my waist. "Do not speak to any of them. I'm warning you, love; they aren't as pure-spirited as everyone says they are." I bit my lip nervously. "Just listen please," he told me and pecked my lips before knocking on the large door. After several minutes, a maid with a chubby body shape and grey hair opened it and bowed at our presence. "Good morning, Alpha Dylan." She turned to me with a smile. "And this is your Luna? She really is lovely, Dylan. The Moon Goddess certainly has blessed you." Dylan chuckled and my cheeks warmed up. "Thank you," I answered and she let us in. "The meeting starts in five minutes, Alpha. You can interact with the alphas before the meeting starts." Dylan nodded and guided me through the giant house. We stopped in a room with a circular table, twenty other large men chatting and laughing. "Are there any Lunas I can talk to?" I asked quietly when they didn't notice us. "Sadly, no," Dylan answered. "These are mainly the Betas. The alphas are usually too old to join meetings so they send the Betas. Just be careful with who you talk to. Since they haven't found their mates yet, they'll do anything." "Especially since I haven't been marked," I added. Dylan puckered his bottom lip out and I chuckled, kissing his jaw since I couldn't reach his cheek. I turned and slowly walked to the table, my heels clicking against the tiled floor. Everyone stopped chatting and turned to look at me as I sat down at the end of the table. "Can we start this meeting already?" Dylan asked impatiently and sat next to me, glaring at everyone. "I didn't come here so you could gawk at my mate." Some chuckled while others rolled their eyes and grabbed their papers. "This is about the rogue incident that occurred just outside of Moon Shimmer's and my borders," the alpha of Rain Crescent explained. "It's been going on twice every week and every time more and more are killed. Last week, two pups and their mother were killed during an attack. That led to a suicide for the father." I felt a painful squeeze at my heart but I didn't say anything. I fiddled with my pen. Two children? "What do you expect to happen?" I heard Dylan ask and he leaned back in his chair. "Rogues aren't as stupid as most people here will accuse them as and will find ways through walls if built." "You can add traps around the forest that connects you with the rogue-claimed land," I muttered to myself. Everyone turned to look at me. "What?" Someone said. I looked up with warm cheeks and looked around. I heard Dylan sigh and he nudged me to go on. "Traps," I repeated. "Not so you will kill them but give you enough time to get ready for if there's an attack or something. You can capture the rogue and both lives won't have to die." Everyone looked at each other, arguing with their eyes. "Would it work?" One asked me. "You can only try," I replied, twirling the pen with my fingers. "If It doesn't then you might have to lead to more desperate measures." There was muffled chatter. "That's one thing we can try," the Alpha of Rain Crescent agreed with a nod. "You got a smart one, Spears." Dylan hummed and I saw his fist clench under the table. I grabbed his hand and entwined our fingers. Dylan lightly squeezed my hand and I smiled. "I know," Dylan said with a grin and leaned back. "Back to the meeting." ----- "Thank you for coming." Everyone stood up and shook hands before leaving. That soon left me, Dylan, and the Alpha of Rain Crescent. "Thank you for coming," he said with a grin and we nodded. "I'm having a dinner party next weekend. You and the Beta of your pack are invited if you want." I smiled and answered before Dylan could. "We would be delighted, Seth. Thank you for the invitation." Seth grinned even more and nodded, shaking Dylan's hand. "It's my pleasure." He grabbed my hand and kissed it, his lips lingering on it longer than needed. I pulled away with a tight smile and nodded. I'm not going to lie -- Seth is handsome. His light brown hair and blazing blue eyes make him look like a model and it suits his built body. However, I mean what I say when I say that Dylan looks like he had himself carved with perfection by the Moon Goddess -- not just because he's my mate. "Have a good afternoon, Seth," Dylan said and wrapped an arm around my waist, leading me out. When we were out of the house, I wiped my hand on his blazer. "Son of a b***h doesn't get that I'm taken," I muttered, remembering where he was touching extremely close to areas I only marked for Dylan. "Such an ass." Dylan grunted and spun me around so my front was against his. My hands went to his shoulders and I squeezed them lightly, pecking Dylan's lips. "I know he is," Dylan mumbled and his hands slid down to my ass. "But he won't be allowed anywhere close to you." I smiled and nodded. "Okay," I answered. He hummed and helped me into the passenger's seat of the car. "Can I have my lunch when we get home?" He asked with a grin. I chuckled. "I might consider your request if you make me a delicious chocolate ice cream sundae." Dylan frowned. "Might?" I grinned and said, "Yes. Chop chop, Alpha. You won't get anything if you don't start driving soon." Dylan chuckled and closed the car door, walking around the car and opening the driver's side and sitting next to me.
