Third Person POV
Cole wakes up. It's early morning. Luckily he is used to getting up early as he had to his whole life at the hunter's academy. He brushes his teeth, combs his hair, and puts on the school uniform Emilia gave him. He looks into the tall mirror in his room and thinks to himself.
"If the other hunters at the academy saw me now, they would have laughed their butts off. I look like a dork in these clothes."
"I most probably would have had my ass kicked as well," Cole thinks, laughing out loud.
"Well, here goes nothing. Let me go downstairs and start my first day at school." Cole thinks to himself, starting to feel a bit more nervous.
He heads downstairs and goes towards the dining hall as it is six o clock sharp and breakfast is starting to be served. As he enters the dining hall, almost all the students are seated at their respected tables. They all have their own groups they sit with. Having supernatural hearing, Cole can hear almost everyone talking about him and wondering about him. Who is he? Is that a new kid? Wonder if he is a vampire, wolf, or witch? Finally, he sees an empty table and has a seat there by himself. The students start to line up at the cafeteria to get their breakfast served. Cole tries to join the queue, but every time he gets a spot, he gets pushed back and told that new kids go back. As Cole does not want to start a fight and get into any trouble, he plays along and goes to the back of the line. He finally gets his breakfast and returns to his seat at the empty table. Suddenly a strange, goofy-looking kid with messy hair joins him with his breakfast tray at the table.
"Ah, great, your a werewolf as well." The strange student says to Cole.
"Excuse me, but who are you?" Cole says to the strange student.
"The name is James, and it's nice to meet you. And who might you be, and where are you from?" James asks Cole.
"My name is Cole, and where I come from has nothing to do with you!" Cole replies.
"Oh, sorry, man, just trying to make friendly conversation here. Excuse all the questions, but we don't get too many new students around here as the school is kept very secret and exclusive." James says to Cole.
"I'm sorry I snapped at you James, I just don't want to talk about my past. I guess I can use all the friends I can get as I can sense most students here don't like me yet." Cole says to James.
"No problem, man, I understand. I am not so popular around here as well. I don't have any friends and am the main target for the bullies around here, and girls here laugh at me behind my back." James says to Cole.
"Well, James, it looks like we both got our first friend, each other. Don't worry about the bullies. I, too, know a thing about them. I will eventually teach you how to deal with them." Cole says to James.
"Oh wow, I can't believe it. I finally have a friend!" James replies in excitement.
As they sit at the table, a girl catches Cole's eye. He can't see her clearly, but she is the most beautiful girl he has ever seen in his life. She has long brunet hair and the most beautiful smile. As she gets closer and the light shifts away from her face, he suddenly realizes that it is his target, the girl Mikael sends him to lure out of the school. She is with two of her friends, and they walk towards the assembly hall as they already finished their breakfast.
"Who is that girl?" Cole asks James.
"That is Hailey and her two friends Wilfred and Macy. Hailey is just about the most popular girl here. She is a wolf just like us." James replies.
"She is stunning," Cole says to James.
"She surely is, but I will stay away from her if I am you. She is Liam's girl, well, not his girlfriend yet, but as Liam is the strongest of the werewolves here and destined to become the alpha of the wolves here, he has already chosen Hailey to be his girl and potential mate one day" James says to Cole.
"Well, I guess we should be off to assembly as well as it's almost seven," James says to Cole.
As they walk to the assembly hall, Cole accidentally bumps against another student. The student turns toward Cole.
"Hey, watch where you are going, new kid!" The student says to Cole.
"I'm sorry, I didn't see you there," Cole replies.
Cole senses the student he bumped into is a werewolf.
"You better be sorry, or you might just get hurt. So new kid, you are a werewolf as well. I can't wait to see you in the gym. Maybe we will just work on that bumping skills of yours. And I see you made a little friend... Hi there James, I'm so glad to see you got out of that locker." The student says to Cole and James and leaves toward the assembly hall.
"Who is that jerk?" Cole asks James.
"That is Liam, he has always been such a jerk and bully, but everyone is too afraid to take him on, especially when he is with all his jerk friends," James replies.
Cole and James get to the assembly hall and sits down. Every student is there now. Emilia walks up to the podium and talks into the microphone.
"Quiet down, everyone. Before we start, I would like to introduce a new student here, his name is Cole, and he is a werewolf, and I would like all of you to let him feel at home. Cole, can you please stand up for a second so everyone can see you." Emilia says over the microphone.
Cole shyly gets up. He can feel all eyes fixed on him. As he looks around before sitting down again, he looks towards Hailey and sees her looking straight at him.
"Wow, she has the most beautiful yellowish hazel eyes, softest lips, and the most beautiful face a girl can have." Cole thinks to himself before sitting down.
"Man, I have to get my head back in the game, it is my first day, and I already start to crush on my target. Come on, Cole, you were trained better than this. I just have to turn off all my emotions and get on with my mission." Cole thinks to himself, not even listing to what Emilia is saying on the microphone.
As the assembly finishes, Cole learns from James that all supernatural students are divided into separate groups. First, there are the Witches. The witches have their own group. They mostly spend their time in the laboratory mixing up potions and doing spells. They are also responsible for the most gossip at school as they always stick their noses into everyone's business, especially Olivia, the student body leader of the witches. She likes to make trouble wherever she goes and has a real bitchy attitude. Then there are the Vampires. They mostly like to study the heritage and origins of their original fathers and mothers. They also like to train in the woods on the school grounds, running at vampire speed, and fighting exercises. They can all move around in the sun as the witches at the school make daylight rings for all of them. Their student body leader Marcel thinks a lot about himself. As an original vampire directly turned him, he thinks himself better than all the other vampires and assumes the leader position. Lastly, there are the werewolves. Some would say the most powerful of all three bodies there. Liam is their student body leader and will, in a short time, become the alpha of the werewolf pack as he is the strongest, fastest, and most fearful werewolf there. Even the Witches and Vampires are wary of him and stay in his good graces. The werewolves mostly hang out in the gym of the school. They mostly focus on speed and strength training as it is their way in the wild. As they are still young wolves, they don't have the ability to turn into and out of wolf form as yet. They will lose control if there is a full moon and turn into their wolf form. They will have no control over the wolf and will threaten any student who is not a werewolf at the school. For that reason, Emilia built a dungeon with prison cells where the werewolves will each be chained down on the full moon in their own locked cell to prevent any harm from coming to any other student there. After the night of the full moon, they all will be unlocked and rereleased.
"Well, I guess we have to get to the gym now to start our day of training," James says to Cole.
"I guess so. Well, here goes nothing. Let's go then." Cole replies.
As Cole and James walk towards the gym, Emilia calls Cole.
"Can I have a private word with you quickly before you go to Gym class, Cole?" Emilia says to Cole.
"Sure, Ms. Emilia, no problem," Cole replies.
They walk into Emilia's office that is just around the corner from the gym.
"So Cole, how is your first day going so far? I see you made a new friend." Emilia says to Cole
"It is going good, Ms. Emilia, It is all still new and very unfamiliar to me, but I will get used to everything in time, and James is a good friend to have met. I'm glad to have a friend on my first day at school." Cole replies.
"I'm glad you met James and made friends with him. You both have something in common except being werewolves." Emilia says to Cole.
"How is that, Ms. Emilia?" Cole replies.
"You both lost your parents in brutal ways as children. You see, James's parents lived in a small werewolf community not so far from here. His mother and father both were werewolves as well. I got word that a gang of Vampires terrorizing towns was around this area, and an original Vampire called Gabriel teaches here as well, and I went looking for them. We were looking for half a day when we suddenly saw smoke coming from the werewolf community. When we got there, we saw the werewolves were all slain as the vampires outnumbered them. The wolves managed to kill a few of the vampires before they died. We saw the vampires shoving a little boy around, slapping and kicking him, and having a laugh. It was young James. He was the only survivor. Using magic, I quickly got the boy out of danger and pulled him with magic towards myself. Gabriel, the original vampire, and teacher here, quickly took care of the remaining vampires, saving young James. I took the little boy in here at my school as he didn't have anyone left. He has been with us ever since, but as he suffered tremendous psychological damage from the vampire's bullying, he easily became a target for bullies here as well. I always try to look out for him and protect him, but I saw it only makes the bullying worst for him, so I'm glad he now has a friend that will stand with him and help him through his troubles." Emilia says to Cole.
"I did not know that, and I thought I was the only one with a difficult past," Cole replies.
"I'm so glad you told me this, Ms. Emilia. I will look out for James, and the two of us will stick together as friends." Cole says to Emilia and leaves for gym class.
