Atara: A teen's plight

Standing up from her bed looking all messy, Atara realizes that it's her first day at Transville highschool. Her family moved from Greenhill because of her Dad's birthday so she had to transfer to another school in their new neighborhood tho in her final year. Knowing fully well she had woken up late, she jumped out of her bed and started heeding to the bathroom when she hears a knock on her door. " Who's there?" " It's me Atara" " Oh dad' opens the door "good morning Dad" she said as she hugs him. " Good morning an....... oh come on Atara you haven't taken your bath yet??" " I'm sorry dad I'll make it snappy" " ok then meet me downstairs when you're done" He kisses her forehead and left. Atara rushed into the bathroom and after taking her bath, she got dressed quickly, checked herself out in her mirror "looking good" took her bag then left for the sitting room. She heaved a heavy sigh on her way knowing fully well what was waiting for her. Atara got to the parking lot and saw her dad waiting for her in front of his 2020 ford escape. She facked a smile and entered the car. She decided not to think about what happened earlier and decided to enjoy the ride to her school. "Atara? Atara!!" " oh sorry dad, we're here already?" Atara said staring at the mighty gate in front of the school " Are you okay? you seemed like you were lost in thought just now" " It's nothing really, just a bit nervous since it's my first day" " Alright den trust you'll do well. See you" Her dad said as she got down from the car. Walking towards the school gate, someone accidentally hit her from behind " Oh I'm sorry didn't mean too" said the boy that happened to hit her " it's okay" " uhh alright hmmmm I'm Charles" he said extending his hand " Charles Brown and you?" " Atara Wright" she said as she took his hand They then walked into the school together but parted as Atara had to go to the principal's office. Mr Coleman the school's principal was writing some things in a book when Atara walked in. He told her to have her seat on one of the chairs then called class 3 homeroom teacher and introduced Atara to her " She's Mr Wright's daughter, one of the top sponsors of this school, Atara Wright" " Oh Atara, You're welcome to THS" she said smiling " Atara and the homeroom teacher Mrs Martins left for class 3. They entered the class and all the students stood up in accordance to greet their homeroom teacher. She told them to sit then introduced Atara to the class. After the introduction the teacher showed her to her seat. " You'll should have a nice day, your language teacher will be here soon" she said as she left the class.
