CHAPTER 15
The days blended into each other. I spent my days mostly in the library or performing my duties, which were to go wherever Pari commanded me to be, such as attend council meetings. And Byron? I barely saw him. Only a glimpse here and there as he went to his negotiations with the members. I was not invited to those. I caught up with him in the corridors and gave him a shake of the head indicating I didn’t find the spells I needed yet, but he always smiled and winked at me. We were not allowed to interact more than that as both our schedules were controlled by Pari.
I had to admit, not knowing what was going on with Byron and not finding anything useful in the library was stressing me the bubble out. Ah, the hexing evilness I was living under.
