Daniel’s head was foggy. He couldn’t keep a complete thought still, but vaguely remembered a doctor telling him that surgery had gone well. Kristen was here, he could see her watching TV next to him and a slow glance around the room confirmed he was in the hospital. The fact that he couldn’t move his leg told him something major had happened.
Glancing down, he realized there was a reason he couldn’t move it, a stark white cast ran almost the entire length of his leg. That definitely explained the foggy feeling in his head.
“Did you let them give me pain medicine?” He growled at Kristen.
She whipped her head around and stared at him. “You’re awake! And no, I didn’t let anyone do anything, they just did. You were in a lot of pain Daniel.”
