Nico I'm smiling, looking down at my phone, when Dominic gave me a look. Not the amused kind. It was the what-the-f**k-are-you-smiling-at kind. We were standing in the cellar — stone walls, damp air, concrete floor already slick with blood that hasn't had time to dry. The smell of copper and urine filling the room had my nose wrinkling.
