Uncovering A Mystery Or A Lover

It was January, a cool afternoon. My mother had decided it was best I get a job. I hated the idea, but knew i needed the skills. “Izzy!” My mother yelled from down stairs. “I’m coming mom” as I was approaching her she held in her hand my new uniform. “ew” I said looking disgusted. It was a black shirt with grey dress pants. Our family business logo was on the top left side right above the chest area. “I really have to wear this? As Part of the family that owns the business I should be able to wear something a little more flattering don’t you think?” I said. “Izzy you’ve never cared about the business anyhow. This is a very faltering uniform to our guest, so go put it on and get ready.” My mother demanded. I quickly got dressed and sat at my vanity to do my hair and makeup. As my green eyes were staring at my reflection I stared tearing up a bit. “stop being a baby” I said to myself. I put my long dark brown hair into a high ponytail, and started on my makeup. I have naturally rosy cheeks so theirs no need for blush. I put on some clear lipgloss, and black mascara. This was a everyday look for me. I had walked to the building next to our house, taking a deep breath. It’s time to go in. I walk in and was greeted by a young man, looked about my age. He had pretty blue eyes and brown hair. “Hey i’m Ashton, i’ll be training you.” Him train me? How hard is it to be a waiter. I rolled my eyes. As I follow him into the back of our restaurant I realize i’ve never been back here. “You hang your coats here and this is your own little cubby, although you don’t seem to be wearing a coat. Were you not cold on your way here?” He said pointing to a corner in the back of the restaurant while looking at me confused. “ I live next door, my parents own the restaurant.” I said trying to not cry at that thought. “Really!? You’re Jessica and Davids daughter??” No one knows my dad has gone missing. Only me and my mother. I can’t tell anyone he’s gone. “Yep that’s me i’m Izzy” holding out my hand for a proper introduction. I had no idea what was going on. Moments later he walks back in holding a bag.
