Snoopy and Crusts I
“That was so crazy! Let’s go watch it again!” I exclaimed in excite, jumping next to Aiden like a kid wanting some cotton candy, trying to pull him back to the ticket booth, so we could buy another set of movie tickets for the next screening of the movie. “Come on! Come on!”
He shove me off my grip causing me to glare at him with a loud scowl so he hears I’m actually serious and disappointed about it. “No! I let you watch the movie twice. No more third time for you. Are you serious? Are you planning to memorize the entire movie? You’re nuts.” He poked my shoulder and turned away, walking like a total sass.
I ran and caught up to his pace, frowning like I’ve been denied with the chance to date someone. “Fine, fine. I just really liked the movie, is that so bad?” I asked, leaning my face to him in frustration. “You bought the tickets in the first place. It’s your fault why I got too into it and you’re not even taking responsibility of it.”
“Wow,” He turned to me, squinting his eyes in disbelief. “Now you’re acting like you’re the victim here.” He said, “I’m glad to hear you like the movie more than the one that brought you to the movie.”
I stuck a tongue out, grinning as I light tapped his shoulder to console his emotional attachment with me. “You even get jealous on movies? How cute, Andy.”
“Not cute enough for you to like me back.” He glanced back at me intently.
A crooked smiled crept over my face. This Aiden who’s not afraid to show his emotions have always fascinated me after all. It makes me wonder how long he’ll keep it going. “Cute enough. Just not my type.”
He flashes a smile. “You don’t even know your type.”
“Boys is my type.”
“Spoke like a true player.”
I tilted my head, smirking wider. “Thanks for the compliment.”
He shook his head, heaving a small sigh. “It’s almost dusk. Do you want to eat something before we go?”
“O—”
I stopped walking when I saw a familiar face ahead of me and blocking the path Aiden and I was taking. I studied his face. I was sure I was just with him before, but I can’t quite remember. Maybe I saw him at a convenience store and found him dateable or something.
“Lois?”
“Jett!”
Jett?
“You two know each other?” Aiden pointed at my direction, but I was too busy trying to remember where I’ve seen this face. Maybe I dated him before? But I don’t think I have though. If I have, I would have remembered.
Lies.
I never remember names neither do I remember their faces.
The guy named Jett, turned to me bobbing his head. “Yes. We went to eat just outside uni the other day.”
“I did everything for her. I betrayed my parents for her. I left my hometown for her. I gave her everything she wanted and now that I needed her the most, she can’t even be there for me and she tells me I’m being ridiculous.”
“Snoopy!” I snapped my fingers before patting his shoulder to commemorate my outstanding capability to rekindle my memories. “Hey! How are you?”
“Snoopy?” I can tell Aiden was so confused with what’s happening but I was sure he already knew what was up. There’s not one moment he would hesitate to assume every guy I speak to, I’ve dated.
Jett smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head like the cutie he was. “I’m feeling a lot better actually.”
I nodded in relief. At least, he looks like in a better mood than the last time I remember. This time, I was sincerely happy for him. I wanted him to heal fast so I can date him next, really. Oh god, I’m such a sinful woman no matter the angle. I think I know deep in my bones that I wouldn’t dare do it, but it naturally comes to my thoughts. “We were just going to grab dinner. Do you want to join us?” I offered, turning to Jett with the best smile I could pull off.
Aiden turned to me, giving me an are-you-serious type of look. He always had a thing of being with me alone and he hates it every time I try to date someone while he’s around. I nudged him and kept my eyes at Jett who was looking back and forth at me and Aiden.
“If that’s okay with you two?”
I was sure Jett saw me do that to Aiden, but it’s not like I was trying to hide it. I was open with how I treated Aiden. Nothing serious or negative, just that I’m comfortable with him enough to say everything or do everything with him. “Why would it not be okay? You’re okay with that right, Andy?” I forced a smile, glaring at him threateningly. “Right?”
Jett looked at Aiden with a glint of hope in his eyes. “Perhaps, I’m interrupting something? It’s fine. I’m sorry for getting in the way of your date—”
“Dating?!” I snorted out loud, shaking my head no. “Him?” I pointed at Aiden, while still keeping my eyes over at Jett. “This man,” I wrapped my arms around Aiden’s shoulder and gave him a stare before turning back to Jett. “Is my friend. My best friend, to be exact? Isn’t that right, Andy?”
Aiden obviously didn’t like the way I introduced him and us being just friends, but seeing him this way only made me want to tease him more. This is so entertaining. “Friend… right.” He replied, looking away. He looked and sounded so down again. I was sure he was gonna make a big a fuss about this again the next day or something.
I stepped away from Aiden and looked at Jett who seemed to be getting much more comfortable. I guess being this close to Aiden had its perks when meeting new people so they don’t feel a bit overwhelmed. “So? Are you coming?”
“Okay, sure.”
We headed to the nearest shop we could find that would be a good enough place for dinner. I told Aiden to order for us while Jett and I would find a table for us. When we did, we sat in silence at first, but of course, when was silence an option for Achelois anyway?
“How are you since the time we talked, Jake?” I asked.
“Good. I was trying to move past things.” He briefly replied, not gazing my way. I could tell he felt a little uncomfortable with being alone with me compared to how we were talking before. “And i-it’s Jett.”
“Jett.” s**t. “I can still see a bit of sadness in your eyes.” I tried to divert the topic away from my mess up. “You know they say the eyes don’t lie.”
Jett glanced up with a small smile. “Still trying to move past it but I am most certain I’m feeling better thanks to you.”
I smiled.
He didn’t seem like he intended to say that out loud considering the look of shock on his face. “I-I mean, for talking to me that day. I guess it really helped me think things through. You know, opening my eyes to reality.”
“I’m good with comfort, they say.”
“I can see that.” Jett smiled.
“Order’s coming in a few minutes.” Aiden walked to the table Jett and I were at and sat next to me. He glanced at me as if asking if I had done something flirty with Jett. I was confident this time that I didn’t so I gave him a reassuring glance. “Did I miss anything?”
I shook my head. “Nope. We were just talking about stuff.” I replied briefly, turning back to Jett to ask, “So Jett, how do you know this awesome friend of mine? Are you like pals or something?”
Jett took a sip from his water before he answered. “We’re under the same department, actually. Journalism.”
I looked at Aiden with an exaggerated, shocked expression, bobbing my head more in amusement. If I knew there so many good-looking guys in Aiden’s department, I would have visited him more often than I should have. It’s not too late to visit him now that I got that figured out. “Oh. Journalism, huh?”
Aiden kept quiet on his seat, watching me converse with his department mate-ish. He looked jealous alright. He was purposely trying to ignore what’s happening because he’s so jealous. I knew he only bought the ticket to Shazam to spend time with me – and maybe because he knows my undying love for DC. And now Jett’s part of the picture. He might be thinking I’m trying to ruin this moment for him.
“What were you doing here at the mall again?” I asked more.
Jett turned back to me to answer my question. “I was going to get tickets for Manchester’s soccer game this Saturday but I was—”
I pointed my finger at him causing him to stop talking. I wasn’t pointing at him in a bad way. I was just surprised he was talking about the Manchester game I was also excited for. “MCFC or MUFC?”
“MCFC, for sure.”
I snapped in relief, flashing a thumbs up at him. “Nice!” I reached out my fist to bump with him. “That’s what I’m talking about!” He looked surprised and happy at the same time. “I support Man City too! Aguero’s my boy!” I exclaimed, winking at the thought that things just got more interesting between us. “We should go watch their game together someday!” I suggestively exclaimed.
Jett chuckled, nodding his head with the idea. “Sure. Let’s do that some time.” He smiled and I gladly returned the favor. For a moment, we were just staring at each other with smiles on our faces until Aiden cleared his throat.
“We were talking about a game..?” Aiden mumbled, trying to catch both our attention.
“S-Sergio Aguero’s pretty amazing.” Jett said, trying to bring the mood back. “B-But them, as a team… They’re really good together.”
I chuckled at his cute attempt to not make the environment awkward. “I know right! God I wish I met you earlier. We could have watched their game with Tottenham together last March when they exclusively premiered it!” I leaned back to my seat. I got so excited talking about soccer that I was out of breath. “You know, we could be really great soccer buddies.”
“I actually watched it but I was alone.”
“Oh?” I leaned closer, resting my chin at the back of my hand.
“Diana wasn’t a fan of soccer, and I didn’t want to force her to watch it with me, so I did it alone.” Diana must be the mighty ex that dumped this pretty boy.
“It sucks, right? To have someone so close in your life but you can’t do things with because they don’t have the same interest as you.” I blurted out, glaring at Aiden who was obviously looking away for the same reason I was glaring at him. “Andy doesn’t really do anything but play his guitar.”
“I do not!”
