They first came on 4th of July,2030. The aliens. A race the world would soon come to call Supremes.
Because they were Supreme,in every sense of the word. They were migrants with mad intellect, strength and technology beyond what imagination could shape.
They had come in peace at first. Organisations, associations flocked to welcome them. Interacting with extra terrestrial lifeforms,so fascinating. Who would believe.
On 4th July,2030 an Unidentified Flying Object crashed into a country whose coastal boundary was delimited by the Gulf of Guinea in the south and the land boundary is shared by Cameroon and Chad in the east, Niger in the north and Benin in the west. 4° to 14°N and 2° to 15°E being it's respective Longitude and Latitude on the globe. A rich country called Nigeria.
The UFO found its self in a boondock. Mafia Citi. Off all the places..
Spectators flooded to behold this unholy sight. Then came the government and the organisations and then the army. For the first time after a long time,Mafia Citi was being graced with the presence of the leaders who had turned their back on the city for years.
The aliens were treated as guests, Royalty even.
Until one day, they decided they really enjoyed this new home and would rather have it all to themselves. So they planned up a little sanitation project. To get rid of some.. waste.
Once again, the government was on the scene, threatening to fight back with all it's Elite forces. But they were overpowered by the unholy abilities that this alien race possessed.
“That is why it is your duty as new recruits of the A.D.A to restore the dignity of mankind and save our nation from this impending doom,” The instructor summarised, just as the on-screen projector started to dim.
Jonathan puffed out his chest with pride. Finally. Today was the day.
He has listened to the projector recording countless times. So much that he now knew the history of the supreme race by heart. They first came on the 4th of july...
The same day his Father went missing. It wasn't coincidence. That was why he was going to find him. He was going find his father, and save humanity. He would become legend.
“Kai,this guy.” An elbow hit him square in the chest. “You're daydreaming again.”
Antai snorted as Jonathan doubled over in pain.
“The instructor is offering her farewell speech now," Antai continued. “Better stop being so absent minded.”
Amidst coughs, Jonathan cried, “How do you always find my chest?!”
Jonathan smiled. “Being blind doesn't mean I can't see.”
“Werey,” laughed Jonathan. “That makes no sense at all.”
“Just shut up and tell me what's going on abeg,"Antai said, waving his hand nonchalantly.
“Its not my fault you were born blind, oga” Jonathan replied. “So stop disturbing me.”
“See this guy. It's a miracle you were even born at all. The nurses had to go through the Primates Chart so that they could identify you.”
“Well, atleast they identified me in the end."
“Oh they did,” Antai turned to him. “In the unicellular organisms chart.”
“Bruh, your name is literally ‘Anti-’,” said Jonathan. “They probably named you that because your mum was against your birth right from the start.
“Cringe, guy” laughed Antai. “I've heard better ‘Anti-' jokes. Now please be a good boy and tell me what's going on in front."
Jonathan looked forward and sighed, “The instructor is still talking."
“Okay,” said Antai. He was silent for some seconds then he asked,“what about now?”
“Still talking”
“Okay.”
.
.
“Now?"
“Still talking”
“Aight”
.
.
“No—”
“For God's sake, you have ears Antai. Can't you hear her?" Groaned Jonathan.
“Come, Respect yourself oh,” Antai said. “If you don't want to do,lemme just find another person to help me."
“Yes,better,” Jonathan concurred.
“No p," Antai said. He stood still for a few minutes. Then he coughed. “Erm guy, just help me look for someone suitable,so that they will help me."
“You fool." Jonathan shook his head. Suddenly his face turned serious.
“What is it?” Antai asked. He'd sensed the shift.
“Today Is the day, Antai,” replied Jonathan. ”We're going to be Cadets today. Soon we'll be in the A.D.A and if we pass protocol —”
“When,” Antai interjected. “When we pass protocol.”
“Hm." Jonathan scratched his chin. “Do you think, perhaps the world is beyond saving. Like, there's no need to...for all this?"
Antai was quiet once again, then he said,“Even if I answered,it wouldn't matter because you'd still hang to your dream of ‘Changing the world’ and all that,so let's just do our best.”
Jonathan nodded.
“So what's going on—,”
”Antai!”
“Sorry oh.”
