His gaze

Samantha's pov

The whole time during the dinner i could feel uneasiness and a burning sensation  which i tried to lessen by drinking a glass of water but of no use. I was not familiar with this type of symptom ever before.  I assumed that i was starting to have a fever but when i looked up to my right i found Aldric's piercing gaze stuck on me. Now those symptoms make sense. What felt weird was ,many have stared at me when during my presence in kingdom's tour, balls or in the courtroom but i have never felt what i was feeling now. I was surprised by the effect his gaze on me. But i immediately turned my head back as soon my eyes meet his. But it didn't stop him from continuing his intimidation.

 On the cue i heard my father's voice which relieved me from Aldric's intense stare, which i am grateful for, "So lord Aldric i assume you liked the cuisines prepared by my kingdoms finest chefs especially for you."   "Hmm its good but you know nothing can beat the  taste of fresh, thick  human blood , but for sure one thing can that is the blood of person who has eaten these delicacies would be no doubt  amazing " , aldric spoke nonchalantly leaving all of us a bit stiff. 

Then the room was filled with a loud chuckle, when we all turned for the source it was of Aldric's. He had a beautiful dimple which i just realized. Further Aldric continued, " come on ,I was just joking why did you all become so still like a statue." My father laughed along with him to make the atmosphere little bit less tense.

Author's pov

"So lets come straight to the point, the reason for my arrival, I know you all would be surprised as well curious." Aldric spoke after sometime. "We sure were surprised and curious but we were also happy to have a great king like you over the dinner." king corell replied with a smile masking his worries and his real feelings. "That's really good to hear that finally someone who isn't intimidated or distressed about the idea of me coming to give their palace a visit. Actually king corell was feeling all of this but was a expect in making them. But neither was Aldric oblivion  about it, he was extremely good at reading people's face and mind even behind a façade. It wasn't some vampire power but it was his own personal skill. And not only this Aldric had many more such talents which has made him the powerful person he is now.

After the dinner Aldric accompanied cornell to his office room to have the important talk. The queen too was accompanying them as she also engaged herself equally as the king in the matters of the kingdom. King corell was asking samantha to go back to her room , but was interrupted by Aldric's condition of wanting her presence too in the office. This put a frown on the faces of both king and queen but on other hand samantha was curious and excited. Her parents didn't include her in any kind of court meetings or decision makings. This was a very important meeting according to her parents, so being a part of it made samantha feel authoritative and truly a part of a royalty. Her father loved samantha till no bounds, that made him a little much over protective. Due to which he felt the need to keep samantha out of matters related to kingdom and the world for her own safety.

" Finally the awaited moment " aldric spoke with a smirk as all took there places and waited eagerly for aldric to continue. "Yes indeed" king corell spoke up, tension clear in the air but only aldric didn't felt it. He looked  calm and confident. "I hate beating around the bush, coming straight to point " he spoke readjusting himself for putting the button of his suit. " i came to your palace to sign a deal with you king corell". Corell was elated and left a sigh of relief, he thought it was some kind of trade deal of goods or some deal in which there was profit for his kingdom or a deal which was going to form a connection with aldric's vast and powerful kingdom. But corell was celebrating too fast i guess. Well his assumptions were somewhat correct, it was about a trade but not of goods. 

Aldric's next words created a pin drop silence in room leaving everyone agape except him , who looked like he said one of the most casual sentence in his life;  "i want your daughter"
