The Star Who Loves Me

PROLOGUE How does it feel to live for a few decades? Two words: too short. People fight tooth and nail to continue living a harsh life. People work hard to achieve their dream of having a comfortable, luxurious life at the cost of their health or family, but when their health deteriorates and their family is in the verge of collapsing, they use all their possible resources and hard earned money to save the two of the most important aspects of their lives, their health and their loved ones... Ironic isn't it? And while humans struggle to survive she was there, observing, watching the cycle of birth and death over and over again. Still, she loves Earth. That is her favorite place in the universe. In fact, she has done huge efforts to fit in that little planet. She adjusted her size, and most importantly, she tried to minimize her power, controlling its flow and cooling it down so that she won't burn this beautiful habitat. She spent a gargantuan time to learn human behavior, their different cultures, languages, their foods, interests, their way of studying and their history. At first, her biggest reason for loving the Earth are not the humans but the other creatures who live in there, the animals along with the captivating sceneries you can find in different places. To be able to know all of that requires a ridiculous amount of time, one of the advantages of being... A million years old. Until one day she witnessed something horrifying and saw this kid who is not only shattered with the death of a loved one but will also carry that burden for life. Feeling guilty for not doing anything to stop that tragedy, she decided to look after the kid. As the kid grows up, this guilt turned into fondness. And this fondness turned into something else, something that's beyond her limitation; something that will change her life forever...
