We didn’t drop our hands at the next song change, just found the new beat and continued. It occurred to me that I was tall enough in my heels to lean my head against his shoulder. Close enough to reach up and touch his hair, brush it away from his eyes the way I’d had the urge to do since the first time I saw him. Close enough to do a lot of things.
