It all sounded like some twisted fairy tale.
Once upon a time there was a girl named Mina Todd, and she killed Splinters. She was the best in the world at it, but she was lonely.
Then one day she met a boy named Shaun Brundle, and they fell in love.
He was kind, and he made everything make sense, and he might have even been human then.
He wasn’t for long.
One day he showed Mina he was one of the monsters that she had spent her life fighting.
He tried to take her. He hurt her. He might have even killed her, if she didn’t kill him first.
From that day forward she said she’d never love again, so she would never have to feel the same hurt.
She never used the word love, but she couldn’t hide what she meant.
