Saraphina’s pov As I walked out of class, I texted Izzy: "Hey, I'm on my way to the cafeteria for our coffee break! See you soon!" Izzy responded almost immediately: "Actually, can you meet me at Java Junction instead? I want you to meet some new friends I made in my lit class. They're really cool! Plus, their coffee is way better than the cafeteria's 😊" I smiled, intrigued by the prospect of meeting new people. "Sounds good to me! See you soon 😊" I replied, changing direction towards Java Junction. I was curious to see who Izzy's new friends were and what they were like. This could be the start of some exciting new connections! As I walked in, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee enveloped me, and I spotted Izzy sitting at a cozy table near the window. She waved enthusiastically, and I made my way over. "Hey, girl!" she exclaimed, giving me a warm hug. "I'm so glad you could make it. I ordered us a couple of lattes." I took a seat, and that's when I noticed two people sitting across from Izzy. "Oh, sorry," Izzy said, noticing my gaze. "I want you to meet my new friends. This is Alex and Sophia." Alex, a tall, dark-haired guy with a charming smile, stood up and extended his hand. "Nice to meet you," he said, his voice deep and friendly. Sophia, a petite girl with curly brown hair and bright green eyes, smiled warmly and waved. "It's great to meet you both," I replied, shaking Alex's hand and exchanging smiles with Sophia. Izzy filled me in on how she met Alex and Sophia in her literature class. "We're all huge bookworms," she said, laughing. "We've been geeking out over our favorite novels and authors." The conversation flowed effortlessly as we sipped our lattes. Alex turned out to be a history buff, while Sophia was passionate about art and design. I was impressed by their knowledge and enthusiasm. As we chatted, I realized that I'd been talking nonstop for a while, and Alex and Sophia were listening intently. Izzy smiled at me, and I knew she was happy to see me connecting with her new friends. The coffee shop started to fill up with more customers, but our little group remained engrossed in conversation. We discussed everything from our favorite books to our plans for the semester. Alex mentioned a fascinating project he was working on, and Sophia shared some amazing art pieces she'd created. As the afternoon wore on, I glanced at my watch and was surprised to see how much time had passed. "I'm so sorry, guys," I said, "but I should probably get going. I have a paper due soon, and I need to get started." Izzy nodded understandingly. "Yeah, we should probably get going too. But let's plan to hang out again soon?" Alex and Sophia agreed, and we exchanged numbers. As we said our goodbyes, I felt grateful for the new connections I'd made. Izzy's friends were not only intelligent and talented but also kind and welcoming. As we walked out of the coffee shop, Izzy turned to me and smiled. "I'm so glad you got along with Alex and Sophia. They're amazing people." I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, they're great. I'm looking forward to hanging out with them again." Izzy grinned mischievously. "I have a feeling this is going to be a fantastic semester." I couldn't help but agree. With Izzy, Alex, and Sophia by my side, I was ready to take on whatever challenges came our way. After exchanging hugs and farewells, Izzy headed to her next class, while I rushed off to mine. The rest of the day flew by in a blur of lectures and note-taking.I signed in relief as I walked out of my last lecture hall, The walk to my car was long. The drive home was so boring without Izzy, because she’s having dinner with her brother so am all alone , I let myself into my apartment, feeling grateful for the comfort and quiet that awaited me. I dropped my bag onto the floor and kicked off my shoes, padding into the kitchen to grab a glass of water. As I drank, I glanced around my cozy living room, feeling content and relaxed. It had been a good day, and I was looking forward to the rest of the evening. I stepped out of the bathroom, feeling refreshed after my bath. The warm water had helped to relax my muscles, and I was ready to unwind for the rest of the evening. I wrapped myself in a cozy towel and padded into my living room, where I spent some time doing a little research on my laptop. But as I scrolled through my notes, I couldn't shake off the feeling of boredom. I had been looking forward to catching up with Izzy, but she had texted me earlier to say she was staying at her brother's house after dinner and wouldn't be coming back till tomorrow I closed my laptop and decided to watch a movie instead. I browsed through my streaming services, scrolling through the options until I landed on a rom-com I had been meaning to watch. I settled in on the couch, getting comfortable with a blanket and a bowl of popcorn. As the movie played, I found myself getting lost in the story. The characters' witty banter and the predictable yet satisfying ending had me laughing and smiling. I was so engrossed in the film that I didn't even notice the time passing. The movie ended, and I felt a sense of satisfaction. It had been just what I needed to unwind after a long day. I shut off the TV and snuggled into the couch, feeling cozy and relaxed. As I drifted off into dream land
