Temptress from Another World

WHEN I said I wanted a sugar daddy, I was thinking of a rich older man who’s willing to sponsor a young and beautiful girl like me. I wasn’t totally asking to be transported into another world to be a “monster” duke’s “sugar baby.” I mean, how am I supposed to enjoy the reward I was offered if I’m going to end up dead after a night with the beast?  This is what I get for reading that smut novel. But since I was somehow pulled into the fantasy world inside the book, does that mean I’m the new heroine? `Might as well introduce myself. Hi! My name is Naomi “Nao” Oh, half Filipino-half Japanese. I’m a twenty-two year old college student from the Philippines. I had to support myself since I lost my mother to breast cancer two years ago. My distant Japanese father who showed up at my mommy’s funeral paid off the debts we accumulated from my mother’s treatment. But he wanted to bring me to Japan to live with him and his new family. When I refused, he got mad and cut off his ties with me. Hence, I had to fend for myself. Since my dad paid off our debts, I used what was left of the savings I collected through cash donations from friends and relatives before to survive. Today, I get by doing part-time jobs. I do hosting and modeling gigs. I also sell my art (usually fan arts for certain merchandises). I’m broke, but talented. Actually, one of my “rakets” brought me to where I am now. I bagged a hosting stint in a big summer music fest in La Union. When not hosting, I’m helping a friend sell condoms to the concert goers. It’s a thing, okay? Lots of s*x happens in the “backstage” so the demand for condoms is crazy high. Anyway, while I was in the middle of selling rubbers under the scorching heat of the sun, a pretty woman approached me. She gave me a bottled water and an old book titled ‘The Duke’s Lover.’ “Please read it during your free time,” she said. I thought she was a writer who wanted to promote herself by personally spreading a copy of her book. As a struggling artist myself, I felt the urge to support her. So during my break time, I read the novel with the intention of promoting it on my social media accounts if it was good. The premise got me hooked, and after the first chapter, I was sold. It’s a historical sexy romance fantasy fiction about a “monster duke” who needs an heir but refuses to sleep with women. That’s because the ladies he slept with and impregnated in the past were killed by the story’s villain. I got to the part where the duke’s tragic past was revealed. To say that I was charmed by the hero would be an understatement. The duke easily became my new fictional boyfriend. He may not be conventionally attractive, but he’s charismatic. And most of all, he’s a very rich aristocrat. I jokingly said to myself that I want Duke Lucian as my sugar daddy. Guess what happened next? Yes, I was dragged inside the book. A strong force literally pulled me in and when I opened my eyes, I was already in the fantasy world of Genevian Empire. Is it too much to ask for a normal sugar daddy?!
