I stare at the bedroom door helplessly. I know I can just bypass it, but I feel that Jane would be even more upset if I did that. The sound of her muffled crying floats down the hallway. “You have to tell her the truth sooner or later. I recommend sooner, before you lose her.” “I thought you didn’t want me to ‘have’ her, Michael?” He bursts out laughing at my statement. “I don’t think I'll ever have to worry about you ever owning her, Kadis.” I finally turn to look at him.
