Hidden Secret

Chapter twelve: Michael

“What am I supposed to do?” I ask my counsel. Usually I would just talk to Ace about this but with him being with Manya, I can't. All the older wolves at the table shake their head. “We don't know. We have never had a rogue wolf show up on our lands before, they have all been to scared.” One of the oldest member states. I put my head in my hands. “This just has to be going on right when Manya comes home.” I say. “Alpha how long have your men had the scent?” “About a week, this wolf showed up right when Manya showed up.” They all look at each other. “I had thought it had been Toby Knight, alpha of the knight pack but it isn't his scent. It smells of deep woods, and death.” I say and look around at there faces. “And no one can track this wolf?” They ask. “No.” I reply. Who ever it is it seems they have been in wolf form a long time, they may have even, let their wolf take over.”  At the moment the door burst open in the meeting room. It's Ace. “Mike there is a wolf who has been lurking around Manya’s window outside, I can smell it, it smells new. Want me to track it?” Ace is angry and I can tell. But there is no use in looking for this wolf, we can't find him. “No, we have had our trackers out after him since Manya arrived. They have had no luck.” I say sinking into my chair at the head of the table. Ace walks over and sits next to me. “Tell me what's going on.” He says and I do. 

Ace is livid by the time the story is over. We let him rant and rave for about 5 minutes before enough is enough. “STOP! We need to be calm and figure this out!” I yell and everyone gets quiet. I run my hand through my hair and relax some. “So first order of business-” I start to say and the door opens again. “Alpha we have seen the wolf.” I stand up and walk over to the small girl and grab her and drag her the rest of the way into the room. “Tell me.” I growl. Hearing Ace panic about Manya’s safety has put me on high alert. “It is a he and sir he is larger than any wolf I have seen, larger than even you.” She says and flinches back like I may hit her, but I just tell her to go on. “He is large and completely black , and sir?” I look at her waiting to see if she will go on. “He- he- is a complete rogue, there was no human, his wolf is in control.” “Leave”,I say, in my alpha voice and the girl runs out of the room. I turn back to the table once she is gone and look at everyone at the table. “What kind of wolf are we dealing with?” I ask and leave the room before anyone else can say anything. This is Manya’s day and I will not let a rogue ruin it. 

When I get outside Manya is standing at the door looking out. “Are you okay M?” She turns around and looks at me. “Mike, I’m nervous.” I tilt my head to the side and look. With a rouge being so close Ace should be here with her. “Where is Ace?” I ask her. “I'm not sure he left my room while I was getting ready.” I look around weird, she should be able to feel him. I finally look at her, she looks beautiful, just like our mom. “I have something for you.” I say and reach into my pocket for a box. “This was mom’s, I know she would want you to have it.” I hand her the box and she opens it. “Oh Mike! It's beautiful.” She breathes out. “Turn around I'll help you put it on.” She does as I say and I put the necklace on her. It is a deep red gems that just shines when the sun hits it. “You look beautiful M.” Manya looks up at me with tear filled eyes. “What's wrong?” I ask her worried. This is suppose to be a happy day. “I don't know Mike I feel so nervous, and antsy.” I hug her. “It's okay this won't last long, then you can go write Anna a letter okay?” She nods into my chest and I let her go. “Come on little sis it's for you to meet everyone.” I say and we walk outside

The air is full of electricity, as everyone is waiting to meet Manya. I walk her over to a chair and tell her to sit and I walk to a podium. “Welcome everyone.” I talk in my Alpha voice to gain everyone's attention. “We are here today for you all to accept my sister Manya into our pack. She has shifted and is a very powerful wolf and will be a great addition to us, plus she is part of the royal family.” I smile when I say this and look back at her. “She will be the alpha female until I claim a mate, and you will all respect her. Do you understand?” I look at everyone. “Yes Alpha.” They all say in unison. I turn around to Manya and tell her to walk up to me and she does. “Welcome to the pack Manya King.” Everyone cheers for her and she's now accepted. “This is going to be weird for you but just don't move”, I tell her. I take a knife out of my pocket at prick her finger and mine. I put them together, and now she is a part of the pack. I smile at her. “All done.” I say. You can see the tension leave her shoulders as she relaxes. I turn around and the party has begun.
