Liam's POV     I was walking up the stairs to Serenity's room and I felt slightly nervous. Why was I nervous? She had left me speechless yesterday. No one has every laid their hands on my brother before. Alexander always got his way with whatever he wanted and whoever he wanted. I couldn’t help but smile when she hit him. It serves him right. When I saw my brothers face, I knew he would hit her back and I had to look away. Rage took over my emotions when he hit her. He had taken it too far. I have never understood my brother’s capacity for cruelty. He reminded me so much of our father and I didn't understand why he chose that path for himself. Our father beat the living hell out of us and sometimes to the point of almost death. He was a mean drunk and took it out of my brother and me. I knew I would never grow up to be like that man and I was thankful when he passed away a few years ago. When he passed away, Alexander changed completely. It was hard to recognize the man I once was so close with. Even now, twenty-three years old, he reminded me so much of our father, following closely in his footsteps.I was the complete opposite and I wanted to get out. I wanted to leave and start my own life and not be shadowed by my father or my brother. I was now twenty-one and still I couldn't leave my brother. I knew he was too much like my father and I wanted to save him from that. I knew if I could help find someone for my brother, I could bring him back to the brother that I remember he used to be. I knew that if he experienced love the way I have, he would change. I approached her door, knocking once. No answer. I hope she still wasn't asleep. Alexander hates when someone is late, and it easily frustrates him. I didn't want to start breakfast off with him in a bad mood. I knock once more and open the door to signal that I was coming in. I walk in to find her at the vanity, looking down with a brush in her hands. Looking at her with her head held down and not at me was frustrating. I knew that she must have been through some s**t for her to be like this. I don't know why it bothered me so much, but it did. I walked over to her until I was directly in front of her. "I see that you are dressed and ready for breakfast." She didn't respond. "You don't have to hide from me, I will not hurt you." She lifted her head slightly and my eyes immediately connected to hers. She was so beautiful and delicate. Her eyes made my heart stop, they were a light blue color and I was mesmerized by them. I sensed her looking at me too and it was as if she had never laid her eyes on another man before and for some reason that pleased me. I couldn't help but laugh a little and I asked, "What are you looking at?" She didn't respond other than shaking her head. "Well, my name is Liam and I am Alexander's brother. Let's get you down to breakfast." I don't know why but she seemed really shocked at my words. Her mouth opened slighted performing an O like motion. I opened the door and gestured for her to step out with me.
