CHAPTER FIVE
Everyone was already waiting outside and some were running helterskelter to find what they could do to save the CEO and just as they were about to open the door forcefully, I hijacked it from them and opened up. I was the one to come out first and I saw a whole lot of security men and reporters in my front, surrounding the Company.
"Hands up" they shouted, aiming guns at me. Just as they were about to harm me, the CEO came out also and smiled at me.
"It's okay... We've sorted it out" he told them to make a halt and leave me alone. Then he came towards me and told me I should not forget about our deal. I giggled, while bending my head and slamming my feet on the floor like a Soldier obeying his superior, saying "Okay sir".
We both laughed and he bid me Goodbye. Just as when were both being dramatic, one of the reporters walked up directly to us and asked for the CEO's attention. "Excuse me, sir. May I have your attention" she beckoned to him.
"Oh! Sure... Go ahead, please" he smiled.
"Okay, thank you sir. I am Rosaline from THE VOICE radio station. We had a tip earlier that someone ran into your office, closing the door behind while under a tight surveillance as this company. That's why we came to ask few questions pertaining to this, sir" she said.
"Okay... How may I help you?" he asked.
"It's just some few questions I would like to ask. If you don't mind, could you please tell us what happened as people are thinking and concluding into something else, sir?" she further added.
"Actually, there is nothing to say about it. She's just someone I know and she's type of a person who always likes to play hide and seek with me. I think that's what caused what happened exactly. I hope I am able to answer your question, Miss Rosa" he inquired.
"Oh yeah! Sure... Thanks for sparing out of your little time, sir" she thanked him, showing her gratefulness.
"It's okay... You look good in those dress" he complimented her.
"Awn... Thanks sir" she blushed and the CEO took his leave, signalling to me that he'd send his manager over to me.
All these while, Laura was downstairs already as she had heard what happened. She was looking at me from afar, feeling perplexed when she witnessed how me and her boss was talking outside like we have known each other for so long. Just then, my eyes caught her and we both walked to meet ourselves.
"Hello, my friend" she called out, running to meet me.
"Awn... What's up, Laura?" I said, hugging her.
"I'm fine actually... But babe, what's wrong?" she said with excitement.
"Be calming down, Madam" I said while noticing she had a lot of questions in her mind which she wanted to ask me so badly.
"Okay Helen... I have calmed myself down now so hint me" she took a deep breath.
"Ha ha... That's how I saw it also" I chuckled.
"Oh Gosh! Are you trying to catch fun with my curiosity?" she rolled her eyes.
"Yeah babe" I mimicked her while laughing hysterically.
"It's okay then... So how was it" she added.
"Well... It was really crazy for me earlier when I ran into his office..." I gave her the full details and she was like 'Wow'.
"Really, Helen?" she screamed out, calling the attention of people to us.
"Yes really, babe! I was even surprised and amazed myself that as much as I think of it, I couldn't believe it" I laughed.
"Awn... I'm so happy for you" she hugged me.
"Thanks Laura... But the issue now is the Bodyguard of a thing" I added.
"Bodyguard?" she asked with a surprise.
"Yes, bodyguard Laura" I replied her.
"And what's wrong with that or what's your own with a Bodyguard?' she asked, rolling up her eyes.
"A lot, Laura. We striked a deal and the deal is for me to be his Bodyguard" I reminded her.
"You... Body what?" she asked rhetorically.
"That's how I see it... I was even surprised myself when he told me" I added further.
"If that's it then... You've got to do it or what do you think?" she said, asking for my opinion towards it.
"I've agreed to it, even I don't have it takes to be called one" I shrugged my shoulder.
"You sure do... Like when I was told, I couldn't believe your action" she laughed at me.
"Don't start it now... Or you should rather leave me alone. Anyways, the pay is good and I was left with no choice than to agree to his deal so cut the crap up" I retorted.
"Okay, Madam... The only friend to our CEO... But wait, I must commend for everything to have went well between you two" she shook hands with me and congratulated me.
We gist for a long time as we strolled round the Company. I checked the time by then and it was late in the evening already. "Oh my... Since morning" I exclaimed and further added "I'll have to take my leave now... Don't worry, we will be seeing each other frequently that I am also working in your Company now" I chuckled and she replied with "That's true babe... Take care of yourself, Helen".
"Yeah... That's it. I can't actually wait any longer for you to be taking care of me now" I replied and we laughed it off while hugging ourselves. I quickly dashed outside and rushed to the road to board a Taxi home.
