Chapter 39

“Angelique, I have to tell you something.”

Angelique faced him with a smile. “What is that?” She held his hand and entwined their fingers. They were staring at the beauty of the farm Angelique’s family owned. This is the place is memorable for the both of there. This is the place where they met and confessed their love for each other and now, this is the place to where this relationship will end. “What’s with that look?” Her smile fades away seeing his eyes were serious.

“Do you know who you fell in love to?” He pulled his hand from her.

“Hey, are you drunk? What are you talking about?” She chuckled trying to fill the hot atmosphere with her laugh. “Demire, it’s late night.” Angelique looked at the dark sky, the moon was full and there is no star shinning. It’s raining heavily today.

“Can you accept who I am?”

“Of course! That was a stupid question.” She searched for his hand but Demire denied it.

“I wish you will…” He bit his lower lip. “This is the time, Angelique.”

“Demire, what is this? A-and what’s happening with your eyes?” Angelique knees were trembling, she was staring at his eyes. His black eye balls were turning red, burning the contact lenses he used to hide his red eyes. His eerie fangs showed up and his sharp nails appeared. “Oh, my God!!” she yelled in shocks and fell on the lawn. Terrified of his look now. The Demire that Anqelique loved was disappeared and a devil appeared in front of her. “Y-you’re a m-monster?!” She started to cry in fear and that hurt him most.

He expected it already. He knew this will happen but he assumed there will be a chance she will accept him, but then he failed. No one will accept him. He will be a monster in everyone’s eyes, just like now. His intention is not to frighten her with his appearance but only to show her finally who he was and find out if he will accept him. He cannot hide the true him forever, she will find out very soon. He does not want to hurt her more, by pretending he was someone like her that is definitely a big lie. He was not, and would never be human. He cannot love human.

“M-monster! Help!”

Her scream frightened him and his tears fell from his eyes. He should expect the hundred percent possibility that she will drive him away from her. He wagged his head and disbelief and used his power to run away. The pain she gave her to him were too much. He cannot take it anymore. She did not accept him, and no one will accept him in this world. He is a monster, a devil, and he should know where he belongs.

Demrie planned to kill himself that day but his heart and his mind were on the contrary. He has to live. He wants to live. This is not the end of his journey. His clan did not die and left him alive juts to follow them. He will find reason to live again. Sure he will…

Sofia searched for Demire when she woke up. When her eyes met the glass window, the darkness from outside is what caught her attention. She hurriedly stood up to find him. “Demire?! Where are you?” She walked towards the bathroom but she failed to see him. Her heart beats rapidly when the thought bothered her, there is nowhere to find him. Where is he? Did he leave me? She shook her head to vanish her thought and immediately went out of the room to find him. “Demire?” She realized late that they were still on the hotel. The lights were dim.

Her feet brought her outside the hotel, that’s where she realized that the darkness was unusual and the moon were full with the color of blood. A crimson moon. She noticed many people outside, watching the moon and taking pictures of it. “Demire… where are you?” She did not know why but there was something inside her that bothering her. She went back inside. Everyone was outside and only the two receptionists on the counter left on the lobby. “Can I ask?”

“Good evening, Ma’am. What can we help you?” one on the two women on the counter ask her.

“Have you seen my boss? He is the owner of this farm, his name was Demire Goddard.”

“Oh, I didn’t know what he looks like, Ma’am, so I can’t tell if I saw him or not.” They heard his name and everyone working inside the farm knew about the owner. It was him, but he never let anyone know his face. Today was the first time. “But we can help you to find him, if that he’s missing.”

He’s not missing of course. I was just over reacting again. Sofia shook her head and turned her back on the counter. She waited for the elevator. When the door opened, she found him with his back, wearing nothing. “D-Demire?” she murmured and stepped inside worriedly.

He didn’t speak, he has no words left to tell her. It was full moon. His body is getting hotter, and he has to remove his clothes to ease the heat. “P-please… d-don’t get in.” He was trying to avoid her. This is not the right time, Sofia. The moon was powerful than I am. I cannot control my body now. Please go away! His back facing her.

“Demire, where have you been? I know it was you. Face me.”

“G-go a-away!”

“No!” Sofia touched his back but immediately removed it when flare rose his body. “Ah!”
