Chapter 3

Demire was confused, unsure of what he had done. The first time she looked at her was overwhelming, he made to finish the interview as fast as he can to avoid the feeling he felt the moment she entered his office. Later he found himself with a pounding heart, but then he believed, he shouldn’t act that way. He has to forget about that feeling and focus to his work. He has to admit himself, no matter how immortal he was, there is a soft part of him. And that, he can feel attraction and different feeling, either he is happy or not, like or unlike and many more. He shook his head to vanish his thoughts, but she seems like a bug plaguing his mind every time. It was just their first met but unforgettable for him. The only way to rest his mind is to admit himself, he was attracted for her. Yes! And dammit! ∞ “Good morning.” She patted the petals of growing rose in her pot. She used to talk to her babies every morning. “Oh, my beautiful, Babies.” She stared at her mini garden, where there were twenty pots of her beautiful plants, they were green and healthy. After that, she showered them of a cold water from the hose. She stayed there for more than five minutes before decided to take a shower. She was so excited to go back to the company, it was her first day but then there is no fear she can feel. Just excited. “What’s that?” she asked Lily as she opened their room, with a towel twisted her hair, dampen skin and another towel for her body after shower. She saw many clothes scattered on top of the bed. They were dresses. Lily setting her arm oh her waist. Akimbo. “I’m thinking what you should wear for your first day, I can’t choose.” She picked a wooden hanger with a hanging peach pencil-cut dress. “What about this one?” It has a tiny strap and backless. “You’re crazy, I am a secretary and my job is not to seduce him.” She chuckled, scanning those dresses on the bed. His eyes pasted on a black-pink dress. “I like this one,” she stated. She saw this dress from Lily before, definitely stunning. Whoever wore it would magically transform into princess. “Good choice, but I want you to wear something, sexy and seductive.” “Ola! That’s crazy.” She laughed because of Lily’s ridiculous idea but there is a part of her agreeing about it, she researched about the Goddard Company, she studied everything about it incase the interviewer would ask her about the reason why she chosen Goddard. Regardless about it, she hadn’t found any picture of the owner on the website, it gave her the thought, the boss might be a woman or a man. Of course. Like a normal applicant who was wondering and fear to speak in front of anyone too formal, the first time she stepped her foot inside, she was worried about what the boss could be, she imagined a barbarian aged boss, with its sweet tiny white hairs but definitely it’s opposite of Mr. Goddard, who hired her for only just one minute. What a surprise! “I would love to stay on this job for more than a year, I don’t want to be kicked in just one day. I will use this one.” “If you say so.” Lily shrugged her shoulder. “What do you prefer for breakfast?” “Coffee and sandwich will do,” she replied, removing the towel on her hair and let the wet strand dampen her back. “No, no, no. What I mean is, something for breakfast that will last until lunch, come on, Sofia, they will only allow you to eat on lunch time. And it’s around twelve in the afternoon or worst one o’ clock, if you’re totally busy.” She sounds too concerned about Sofia, they might not be sisters in blood but they are treating each other more than just what sisters can be. They get sad together when one was sad, they get happy together when one was happy. One’s achievements were their achievements. They were together since 2015, it was six years from now and they still living together in one apartment, happy and contented. “Ouch, thanks for your concern, Lily. I promise to treat you on my first salary.” She winked at her with a smile on her lips. “Not a problem, insane.” Lily took the hair dryer out of the cabinet, she told her to sit in front of the vanity table and helped Sofia dry her hair. “Good luck, later.” “Thanks, sister.” “Silly!” … Goddard Group of Company. 7:00 in the morning. Demire always woke up earlier than the sunrise. He used to do it, at four o’ clock in the morning he should be up. He wants productive day every day, no time to waste and energy. As usual, as he entered the company, everyone is greeting him. Normally, his secretary should be on the company before he came, but since the girl named Sofia was new, he understood it. But later he will tell her all about his own rules inside the company. “Bring me a coffee,” he ordered to one of the secretaries he saw, the girl nodded at him and immediately obeyed the order. He kept on checking his wrist watch and waiting for his secretary to come and enter his office. At the time of 8:02, someone knocked his door. “Get in,” he said turning his voice cold. As he expected, it was Sofia. The newly hired secretary who had been late for her first day. “G-good morning, Mr. Goddard, I would like to give you my apology for being late—is just that I got stuck in a heavy traffic.” Her forehead was filled with so many drops of her sweat, her hair tangled and a little bit messy, but despite of it, her beauty was stunning. “I’m so sorry.”
